Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the top bar supporting the two shoes rotatable? Also, the shoes are secured by bolts that appear to accept a hex wrench. Is each shoe independently rotatable with respect to the bar?

A: 0 I do not believe the hex bolts can be removed they maybe Lock tight. I just tried to unscrew the bolt and it would not move. But you can face your flash or light either direction in the shoe front or back.

Q: 2. Is this a normal shoot through umbrella without black backing?

A: Yes it is

Q: 3. Is the umbrella mounting hole angled upward to help center the flash beams in the center of the umbrella?

A: I don't remember, because I returned this product. My recollection is that it was NOT angled and that was why I did not like it. If it was angled, it did not hold the umbrella securely enough to keep the umbrella at the proper angle. I recommend you check out the Phottix brackets. Much better made, although more expensive.

Q: 4. what size is the umbrella hole? my umbrellas are 14mm

A: The Impact bracket is designed to accept up to 8mm umbrella shafts.

Q: 5. does the metal post fit godox lights and godox bowens mount?

A: The rod on this Impact 32"Convertible Umbrella does fit Godox lamp heads or the Godox S2 bracket to fit certain Godox flash units.

Q: 6. Would this work with the Canon 600 EX speedlight and Photek Softlighter 46 ? Which is the most durable light stand recommended for the mount and the speedlight and softlighter I mentioned. Thanks!

A: Yes, I actually use it with this speedlight

Q: 7. Can I remove the cold shoes and attach any device with a 1/4-20 female thread?

A: The cold shoes are removable.

Q: 8. Is the main body made of plastic or metal?

A: The main body, pins and 5/8 studs are metal, knobs are the only plastic.Though not as durable as machined AL (it appears to be pot-cast construction) they should hold most any umbrella up to 42 . I've used them with home-made bracket for 32 Lastolite Triflector.

Q: 9. Is this strong enough to hold 2 Godox Witstro 360's safely? I'm concerned about the weight of those units. Thank you

A: Yes, the bracket is strong enough to hold two Godox AD360 flashes. Note you need to attach the battery to the stand and not the bracket.

Q: 10. What's the distance between the cold shoes?

A: The distance between shoes is 4".

[5.0" (12.7 cm)] I bought this so I can use 2 of mt flashes for more power output and so far it's working great. The flashes attach secure, metal made, overall good quality. Very happy with it!

[9 x 6.38 x 1"] I wanted to add a second speed light to some of the Westcott soft boxes I use. I didn't want a tri-grip or quad light holder. This bracket works perfectly for adding a second speed light. It is a sturdy fit on my light stands.

[5.0" (12.7 cm)] Looked at many double cold shoe mounts to use in my 50x50 soft box and with my 7' umbrella. Impact was going to win no matter what just because of their build quality. Can't beat it.

[9 x 6.38 x 1"] I have 2 Canon 600EX speedlights that I use with the twin brackets and they fit into the slots securely. There is also a thumb screw that you can use to alter the slot that the flashes go into. Very well put togethor.

[0.56 lb] I recently switched to speedlights for my architecural work. Because the spaces I shoot can be quite large, the speedlights were lacking in power for certain situations. Using the Impact twin with 2 speedlights pushed the power up a full stop. I just ordered another because one was not enough. Solid product. Adjustable, sturdy. Everything you need for speedlight photography.

[9.0 oz (255 g)] Easily mounts to a light stand and is strong enough to support the weight of a 7' umbrella. Holds two speedlights securely for increased flash output and is adjustable to get the proper tilt for required coverage.

[0.56 lb] Own multiple of these. Used to be able to increase power in several of an array of soft boxes .I use this bracket to hold Canon 600rt flashes. Build quality is good enough for this purpose.
