Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this cable able to handle a 1080p60 signal that requires a 3G-SDI cable? I'm a bit confused as the heading suggests that this is a HD-SDI cable, but in the description is mentions 3G-SDI. Is the mention of the 3G-SDI just mean that the cable can transmit the higher signals that a 3G-SDI cable can do, but it converts the signal down to a HD-SDI quality? Thanks

A: This cable is capable of handling a 3G-SDI signal, it is rated for 3G-SDI.

Q: 2. Will these cables work for recording 4K from a C500 to a Shogun?

A: Yes they will. These cables will work for connecting the C500 to an Atomos Shogun for recording 4K.

Q: 3. Is this made with Canare L-3.3CUHD cable?

A: Yes, this is a L-3.3CUHD BNC to BNC cable.

Q: 4. I would like to know is the cable as flexible as an Iphone charger or is it "flexible" like a common coaxial?

A: The Laird Digital Cinema Premium Canare L-3CFW HD-Serial Digital SMPTE 292M/294M/424M BNC Cable (100', Black) is more flexible than standard coax cables to assist in bending around corners.

Q: 5. Do any of your BNC to BNC connectors connect an Atomos Shogun or Sound Device Pix-E to the newer cameras coming out like that of the BlackMagic Ursa mini, AJA Cion, or Kinemax? There's no real good tutorial on 6G or 12G SDI tutorial on the web that educates you or instructs you on how to properly choose or use those features since everyone's go to is HDMI. Thank you

A: The folks at Convergent Design tell their recorder's users to make sure they 3G-SDI certified cables to avoid problems. Since their recorders are more robust than those you list, I suspect that would be a good starting place. Not sure at all what you mean by everyone's go to is HDMI. HDMI is a consumer connection, not a professional one, and plagued by quality and connection issues. I can't imagine why anyone would prefer it over SDI .... I know of no professional camera asst (or DP working alone) who would rig a camera with an HDMI cable unless it was a special purpose shot with a camera that didn't have SDI output.

Q: 6. Is this suitable for going from analog TBC to a BlackMagic Ultrastudio 4k? I'm digitizing analog videos.

A: yes it is

Q: 7. Will this also carry an SD signal as well?

A: This cable will carry HD and SD signals.

Q: 8. Can I use this cable with a 3G-SDI camera?

A: Not sure. I use it with hdmi to sdi covertor on a go pro

Q: 9. Are Canare HD-SDI cables plenum-rated? I don't see it noted anywhere in the overview or specs. Thanks.

A: Unfortunately, Canare does not make any type of plenum rated cables. You might consider the Belden brand for your needs.

Q: 10. Does this come with a strain relief boot? If not, can we have it added and if so, how much would that cost?

A: Canare labels their strain relief boots CB0x Series and they would need to be special ordered. Please either call or email us to create a quote for you.

[3.655 lb] I have a dozen or so Canare cables. I got 4x 50' for the occasional multi-camera shoot. They are lightweight, easy to run, bright green to help see in a dark space.

[3.655 lb] I bought a super thin BNC cable cause I thought it would make my rig smaller and lighter, but after a few months my cable just died.

This my friend, is the real deal. Don't look around for something else, this is the BNC cable you want/need.
