In the world of long-range rimfire competition, where the 22 LR cartridge is frequently pushed beyond its intended limits, the ZEISS 4-25x50 LRP S3 Riflescope ZF-MOAi Reticlewill help you hit your target. The ZEISS LRP S3, with up to 46.5 MRAD of total elevation travel, can deliver bullet impact on the most distant targets. Advanced optics allow the shooter to quickly locate and define the targets. The optical performance is assured by multiple elements of ED glass, ZEISS T* (T-Star) lens coating, and 90% light transmission. The ZEISS Ballistic Stop, with its robust design and all-metal construction, provides an absolute and repeatable zero under any condition. The external locking windage turret offers the shooter easy access for immediate wind corrections and a locking feature to hold the setting. The daylight visible illuminated reticle, with a user-selectable option of red or green illumination, assures a viable point-of-aim in any lighting condition. Tested to withstand 1,500 g-force of shock over multiple impact cycles, the LRP S3 first focal plane riflescope is ready for competition.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What extension tubes can be successfully used for this lens? Canon's do not work

A: ZEISS Otus 55mm f/1.4 ZE Lens for Canon EF is compatible with Canon Extension Tube EF 25 II https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/300603-REG/Canon_9199A001_Extension_Tube_EF_25.html

Q: 2. Will this work on a Fujifilm GFX100? Is the image circle large enough to cover it's sensor.

A: Yes. The following unit needs an adapter in order to mount to the GFX system. Metabones Lens Adapter for Nikon F-Mount, G-Type Lens to FUJIFILM G-Mount GFX Camera BH #MEBNFGFGBM1 • MFR #MBNFG-FG-BM1 https://bhpho.to/3FHbTD9

Q: 3. What lens adapter do I need to use for Sony FX6 camera?

A: The ZEISS Otus 55mm f/1.4 ZF.2 Lens for Nikon F is a manual lens. So a good Manual adapter that works with E mount cameras would be this one, https://bhpho.to/3GAsMTX .

Q: 4. Does this lens have auto-focus capability?

A: No, the Zeiss Otus line of lenses are strictly manual focus lenses, as would be the Zeiss Otus 55mm f/1.4 ZF.2 Lens for Nikon F.

Q: 5. How un-sealed against weather is the Otus? I have a Milvus 15/2.8, and now an Otus 28/1.4. The 50 or 55 is next, which I plan to use for landscape and astro-pano with my 810A. I don't plan to be in rainstorms or sandstorms, but the lack of weather-sealing has me a bit concerned, given its expense what was Zeiss thinking?, and the fact that I will be taking pics in marine shore and humid environments.

A: The ZEISS Otus lenses are not weather sealed. As long as the lens is not exposed directly to rain or dusty environments, there is little risk of damage. When used in high humidity conditions, care should be taken to acclimate the lens to prevent internal fogging of the elements. Storage of the lens under these conditions should be done in sealed bags using a desiccant.

Q: 6. A lens this good, you should rightfully list camera bodies as an accessory. I'm a Canon guy for 40 years, but if I buy this lens, Nikon might be the best choice of camera. What is the best match?

A: Probably this answer is too late for you, but I'm being careful about evaluation of this lens. I'm using it on a Nikon D800e, and it's performing beautifully, especially for night shots where the specular highlights are well contained and don't seem to bloom on the sensor . The only drawbacks I've found is it's not macro, it's not weather sealed, and the cost has diminishing returns. I understand the trade-off for not having macro focus; increasing the focus range would reduce the precision of focus in the normal range, and also probably complicate the movement of the internal elements. Not sealing it against moisture makes sense if the intended use is in the studio.Still, there is some truth to the hype. The coupling to the in-focus indicator is better than any other manual focus lens I own including a Zeiss Makro-Planar T* 2/100. Because digital cameras are dependent on auto-focus, they do not come with optical focusing aids. Focusing is accomplished either normally through the viewfinder--something I find difficult to do with precision--using live view--which can be done with a tripod and relatively static subjects--or with the focus indicator. The clarity and contrast of the image produced by this lens allows it to be used with the focus indicator on the D800e, an important practical feature.

Q: 7. Is this lens fully compatible with the Nikon F6 film camera?

A: For a list of compatible cameras, please visit the ZEISS website using the link below: a href= https://www.zeiss.com/camera-lenses/int/photography/content/camera-mounts.html target= _blank https://www.zeiss.com/camera-lenses/int/photography/content/camera-mounts.html/a

Q: 8. Hi.Is the lens hood integrated or separate?Thanks.

A: The lens hood is separate and is included with the lens.

Q: 9. I'm looking to purchase a slip-on front lens cap for this lens. Once the hood is removed, what is the outer diameter of the lens for a slip-on cap? Thanks!

A: ZEISS has no recommendations for a slip on lens cap for the Milvus 2.8/15 lens. The lens is designed for use with a 95mm pinch-type front lens cap that is shipped with the lens and is shown at: https://a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1204618-REG/zeiss_2112_249_95mm_front_lens_cap.html target= _blank www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1204618-REG/zeiss_2112_249_95mm_front_lens_cap.html/a

Q: 10. Which of the two filters is the best? Heliopan or Zeiss polarizer? For this lens.Thank you.

A: I don't have much experience with Heliopan, but I have several Zeiss polarizers for various lens. I have the Zeiss polarizer for this lens and it is amazing. However, I think it depends on what type of photos you want to take and location.

[4.515 lb] This is the best scope I own. The clarity and retinal are amazing.
It goes above and beyond what I was expecting from the product. The adjustment is easy and I only had to adjust very little to get it zeroed. This item is perfect for a new shooter all the way up to your seasoned vet. I would highly recommend this scope to anyone looking for a hunting or long range scope. This is better than the other scopes in its price range.

[4 to 25x] I have used this scope extensively and find being able to shoot in wind at all distances to be easy. Shoot at a rock for wind, move the scope and done.

[50 mm] For the price, you will be hard pressed to find the features included. I would put on par with the vortex pst gen 2 with little better rating for the tube size. Illumination is as bright as you will need.
