Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. the Auray ISO-ARMOR-2 Q & A works with a RODE k2 correctly?

A: I have a Rode K2 and it does fit inside.

Q: 2. Does it fit Neumann KM184s?

A: It should fit snugly, I use these clips for KM-84's, the predecessor to the 184 and am very happy with them.

Q: 3. Will this work with the Procaster Mic?

A: No. This device is designed for a large diaphragm side address mic. The Procaster is an end address mic not meant for these types of filters.

Q: 4. Will this work with 24mm mics like the Beyerdynamic M201?

A: Yes, this microphone clip will work with any 24mm microphones. Mostly used with the Shure SM81, SM94, VP64, KSM137, KSM141, and 849, these all have the same dimensions as the Beyerdynamic M201.

Q: 5. Will this work with an Apogee Mic+?

A: This device is not recommended for the Apogee Mic+ since the mic is smaller than most standard large diaphragm condensers, and since the Apogee's controls would be hidden inside the unit.

Q: 6. Will this work on a desk anchored boom with "Heil FL-2", supporting an AT2035 mic? I'm aware that it would accommodate the mic but wonder about the weight on the swivel boom?

A: No. This will not work wth a broadcast arm. Regardless of weight it is not designed to be mounted in such a fashion.

Q: 7. Does it fit Shure SM-57s and SM-58s?

A: The diameter on the A53M will not support the SM57 or SM58 microphones. You will need the A55M. Please see the following link: a href= http://bhpho.to/1D1kldz target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1D1kldz/a

Q: 8. Does this work with a Neumann tlm 103? & do I need another shock mount to connect it to a mic stand?

A: It is definitely not intended for a shorter mic like the TLM 103, however that's the mic I'm using with it. To get it to work, I had to use the shock mount that came with the TLM 103, but flip it upside down. Fortunately, the mic can be threaded into the shock mount this way. Unfortunately, the ISO-Armor-2 has to sit on top of the shock mount, reducing the shock-absorbing effectiveness. The mic and ISO-Armor-2 are not able to float the way the shock mount is intended. The added weight of the ISO-Armor-2 would probably prevent this anyway. It's too bad I can't include a picture, because it'd be much easier to show. Just to be clear, the ISO-Armor-2 isn't a shock mount and doesn't provide any connection to a mic stand.

Q: 9. Does this work with a Lewitt LCT540?

A: No this Auray ISO-ARMOR-2 model will not work with the Lewitt LCT540 model.

Q: 10. Will it fit on the Rode NT 2 microphone ?

A: Yes it does, but you will need a stand with it.

[0.18 lb] You know the drill: You clamp your small diameter mic into a suspension mount, as one of the rubber bands pops loose. Your client watches as you struggle to get the band back into place, only to have the other side of the mount pop loose as well! No such problem with this little beauty.

My Shure A53M mount will take any 20mm diameter mic (most small diameter dynamic and condenser mics, it would seem.) Besides the Shure KSM137, it fits my Oktava MK012, Neumann KM84/KM184, and some other mics.

The trick to using it is to twist a mic a little as you insert it. Otherwise it will stick a little bit as you slide it in. Either way, it is quick to set up, doesn't use up as much space as the traditional suspension band mounts, and doesn't seem to deflect as much in use due to the weight of an XLR cable.

I haven't done any scientific tests as to the amount of transmission of noise from the floor up and into a microphone (the whole point of a suspension mount, right?) but it seems to do as good a job as most any other mount.

Oh, and I can store two of these into the same space as one typical suspension mount. Plus they don't snag as easily onto to other gear in my kit bag, as I try to remove them during setup.

Nice!

[0.18 lb] Someone said these work/fit on Gefell M930/M940/M950 in a review. They do indeed, and much better than the original clips.

Good luck and happy recording all.

[0.18 lb] I bought a pair of these for our Shure KSM-141's and so far they're working great. The construction seems to be sturdy and the mics fit in nice a snug. A friend has been using these for years with no problems so I'm hoping we have the same luck.

[0.18 lb] I use Shure KSM-141 mics in a live recording situation of bands. Shure's A53M shock mounts are small and compact, yet provide excellent suspension and shock protection.

[0.18 lb] This A53 is a sleeper product not aggressively marketed by Shure, like many of their offerings. But Shure is an American company, much copied and seldom equaled with unprecedented longevity. These mounts will fit just about any small diameter mic by Shure and many other manufacturers. I use them for my Shures, AKGs, Schoeps and Oktavas and the, larger, A55 for my Royerribbons. It's a simple compact design that punches well above its weight class at a very reasonable price

[0.18 lb] I use these with my expensive Schoeps MK41 mics. They are alot cheaper than the ones that came with the mics and do a better job. Highly recommend these.

[0.18 lb] This is a great shock mount for pencil-style mikes - much smaller than elastic-band types and just as effective.

[0.18 lb] Not cheap but does a good job of isolating the mic from floor and stand vibrations.

[0.18 lb] I use the A53M on a pair of classic AKG-414B-ULS studio condenser mikes that I purchased used. I tried AKG's current shock mount for the 414 series, and it simply did not provide as good shock isolation as the A53M. The small size is also a definite plus.

[0.18 lb] On a review here about these fitting the Schoeps CMC collette system I took a chance and ordered a pair of these. A Shure grip without the bulky spider mounts. Easy to place and stays put. Simply wonderful! Shure is fine company.
