I'm a beginner and this is just what I needed to get going! Supper easy to assemble

I was ready to take the next step in my food photography and that step was lighting.  So many opinions and choices.  I visited the B & H website and participated in a live chat.  The adviser understood immediately what my needs and concerns were and quickly guided me into a a great kit that was at a very reasonable price.  Once received the lighting kit far exceeded expectations!  Wow!!

These eye pads are comfortable and work great. I use them on an Arriflex 16 SR-2 and they fit well.

These lights are listed as “ fluorescent “ because they are delivered with 8 Eiko CFL lamps. I called B&H to ask if I can use LED bulbs, and was psyched to hear yes.

I’ve been using China ball lights for both stills and video on my Canon SL1.
This is my first real light kit. Assembly was easy. Sure, I have to have them plugged into a wall indoors or outdoors. I adjust the light by changing wattage, or simply adding or removing lamps from the fixture.
Same with color temperature.

I’ve been testing them indoors for my first four headshot clients tomorrow in my cabin/studio at one mile above sea level.!

keeps sweat out of eye. I shoot a lot in Caribbean. I use with my small HD sidefinder. this is the size you want. helps with eye piece fogging up. I find I can get away with using it a few full days of shooting handheld before it gets a little gross. let's be honest. I use it a little past the gross part cause I'm cheap. it's fine.

I purchased this kit to improve my in-office videography.  I needed a kit that will evenly light the faces without being harsh or make the subjects of the video squint.  This kit absolutely met the need with two soft light boxes with diffusers, fluorescent bulbs and 6 foot stands on which to mount them - a complete setup.  Need a little bit of patience when assembling the light boxes.  But the resulting videos are a quantum improvement in lighting quality. The video camera seems to love this lighting.  I could not be more satisfied with this purchase.

Long time listener, first time buyer. Sounds good as it looks. What else?

I had torn my eyepiece on my Sony XDCAM and needed a replacement so I bought 2 of these. They fit my XDCAM, my HDX900, my old BetaCam, without a problem. If you don't have the eye cup or want a different one, measure your cameras diopter and go for one of these. This would also work on other eye cups or eye pieces for other diopters too.

I am enjoying these lights and stands. They seem to be well made and I like the way they soften the light. They are a bear to assemble, so I will store them without breaking them down. That is the only negative thing I can say, and that is not going to be a problem for me. If you have to travel, you might want to look at other units.

Got this on the recommendation of friend who purchased one. Love it. Though I did not find assembly instructions included, I found YouTube to describe how to assemble the reflectors/diffusers. Easy to set up. Give the bulbs a couple minutes to warm up since Compact Florescent. Very Happy with Purchase. I have been buying from B&H for over a decade and ALWAYS had highest quality service and products.
