Having owned a Maglite Mini for years, I knew the quality of this manufacturer's products. I also knew the 6V lantern battery flashlights I've gotten for cheap were useful, but not what you want when you need to see what's out there. Having no idea about the advanced tech in these new lights, I was surprised not only at the brilliance of the light, but the functionality built-in. A good, bright light would have made me happy. But wait, there's more! The 3-position switch is easily programmable to any of several patterns of High, Medium, Eco and Strobe: pick any 3. (Now I know what those rioters were using in LA, et. al.) A great light that I'm sure will last for many years. 5

This is one of those flashlights that will be going strong for years (unless you forget to change the D-cells for a couple of years and they leak...like I did with my first one.) This 3rd generation model is extremely bright, has many features and modalities and is very easy to use. 5

A big and VERY bright Maglite! Upgrade from my old trusty non-LED version. Love that it's rated for 100 hrs on lowest setting, which is plenty good for most things. 5

Needed for support of the Baker to Vegas event. Lasted all night with judicious use at the station. Installed the holders in my vehicle and will provide emergency requirements. Appreciated the out of box complete setup. Have changed the batteries to rechargeable packs for future use. 5

Yes, it is very well made primarily of aluminum. With its rating of 625 lumens it throws a sharp bright beam many yards. Not a fair comparison, but the 3 C cell Maglite is a level of magnitude dimmer than the 3 D cell model. 5
