However, the software which comes with the camera definitely indicates it needs a Bluray for 3D, even though I was unable to get it to work, even with Sony's help. I was greatly disappointed to find out that the software that came with the camera did not allow me to burn my 3D footage to anything. I had to buy Vegas Pro in order to get my footage into formats I could use. A: hello,i can't answer that particular question as i have never used avid software though after using final cut x i am planning to buy it or some other pro level software real soon. it's a mystery to me how or why apple named their editing program final cut anything when in fact it should be called imovie 2 . i have final cut pro studio 6 and final cut express and x is nothing like either of them in looks or operations but is actually very much like imovie - two words - it sucks.sorry i couldn't help with the question at hand but when i do get a chance to use a real editing program like avid media composer i'll let you know. peace
