Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this screw be used for the Benro ball heads. And, for all the OBEN ball and tripod heads? How about MEFOTO?. This seems to be a great product.

A: Yes, It's a standard size and will fit the QR attachment plates. Those plates should fit almost all ball heads except for Manfrotto and RRS (Really Right Stuff) which has their own size of plates which might require something else although it might fit them also. However, the 1/4 -20 is standard for a ton of things.

Q: 2. Can I use this D ring with a Sirui T-005SK T-0S Series Travel Tripod with B-00 Ball Head (Black, Aluminum) B&H # SISUT005SK MFR # SUT005SK?

A: The Oben 1/4"-20 Screw with D-Ring for QR Plates was designed for Oben QR plates, it may work if your dimensions are the same.

Q: 3. Is this stainless steel?

A: If I'm not mistaken this screw is nickle plated -- maybe chrome but more likely nickle.

Q: 4. Would this work on a Magnus QR plate?

A: Better not to

Q: 5. Does anyone know the load capacity for these?

A: ANDYCINE does not list a load capacity for the ANDYCINE Quick Release Camera Plate Tripod Adapter with 1/4"-20 Screw. The adapter is designed to be used with DSLR and Mirrorless cameras as well as camera gimbals, so remaining around that weight range would be recommended.

Q: 6. What's the exact length? (Including the head and then the shaft only). I have a 3.5mm thick arca plate and 5.5mm depth tripod mount in the camera. On the other hand, the clearance for the head inside the plate is 6mm.

A: I have one of the 1/4 20 screws with D ring for fastening. I measured the overall length as 11.94mm and the threaded shaft is 8.25mm long. The head thickness is4mm and the depth of the plate for the head is 7mm. The screw works just fine and no need for tools to get the screw nicely tightened to the camera. The D ring folds down and fits in the plate properly to permit easy fit to the mount.Bob Haas

Q: 7. Is there enough room to use this with a BlackRapid strap and is it strong enough? Would BlackRapid's FastnerT-1 work with Oben QR plates?

A: The space in the ring of the 1/4 -20 Screw with D-Ring for QR Plates is NOT large enough for my BlackRapid strap clamp. I am considering replacing the plate I use this, with a plate that has an extended feature specifically to use the strap without removing the tripod plate.I do not know about the T-1 (don't have/have not used)

Q: 8. This works on 501 PL plate?

A: Is the D-ring strong enough to attach on to a strap and not break?

Q: 9. Can I use this with the OBEN QR 10 plate?

A: Don't know since I don't have the OBEN QR plate. It fits on an old Manfroto plate, but not on the Markins plates I currently use. Sorry I couldn't help.

Q: 10. Can this attach correctly to : Benro IN00 Single Action Ball Head with out damage?

A: This item is designed for quick release plates; it would not be compatible with the ball head itself.

[0.07 lb] There's a small screw on the (Manfrotto compatible) mounting plate for the Crane 2, as well as a knock-off glidecam I used to use. I lost it. Bought this to replace it and it works like a charm!

[Silver] I use these little dealies as anchors on a small quick release plate so I can carry big lenses around on a strap. They are working really well for me.

[Silver] Very high quality machining. I love the triple fastener style (D ring / hex key / coin slot). But the real benefit is for cameras that have a very shallow tripod socket (Nikon D800 series are the most egregious). It can be extremely difficult to find short 1/4-20 screws to work with those cameras, and this one is the best I've found.

[Silver] This product is used to mount my quick release plate to my camera body. It is great because I do not need an additional tool to unlock it. The little handle makes it very convenient.

[Silver] The 1/4 - 20 screw with D- Ring for QR plates is important to have some spare parts. These are available and are very high quality. It case you loose on in the field swapping cameras, this small part might just save the day. I alway carry spares.

[Silver] I replaced the allen screw (hex wrench) with this screw to cut down on extra tools needed to switch plates. The hex wrench is hard to keep track of and I always seem to misplace it when I need it most. This spare is not the primary means to secure the base plate to the camera without and special tools. Well made and it fits perfectly.

[0.07 lb] Got two of these screw for the D-Ring capability. Unfortunately they were not as tall as I needed. These are great little screws, but I should have checked the specs first.

[Silver] I was looking to attach a lanyard to my universal camera handle grip. Since the handle has a 1/4 screw hole on the bottom, this screw fit perfectly. I threaded a length of cord through the D-Ring. While not a perfect solution, this works well when I have a lightweight point-and-shoot camera attached to the handle grip.
