The Easyrig Vario 5 Strong with STABIL G3 & Gimbal Vestis an adjustable, body-worn support system for camera rigs weighing 22 to 55 lb. This system works by using a suspension line to support the weight of the gimbal rig, taking the load off your shoulder, neck, and arm muscles and distributing it across your torso. This system consists of the large-size Gimbal Rig vest with the EASYLOCK ratcheting buckle, a standard top support bar for shoulder mounting, a quick release camera mount, and a STABIL G3 dampening arm to reduce walking motion in your footage.

The adjustable Gimbal Rig vest has a wider front and offers the comfort of an overlapping padded belt. A carrying bag is also included for convenient storage and transport of the Easyrig system.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this rig fit female dps that range from height of 52-54?

A: Am a female DP and 5'2 , have used this extensively to op and it has definitely been a great accessory to have. Although I'm probably at the shortest end of what this will fit comfortably and decently. They do make a women's specific vest Cinema Flex Vest that I have tried and really is a much better fit but they're for bigger rigs. As far as the minimax comfort, it's pretty good, not perfect but decent for long shots and helps distribute the pressure.

Q: 2. Does this item come with everything you need to start filming? Or do you have to buy additional accessories?

A: Ready to film out of the box. Just latch onto rig or camera handle and you're good to go

Q: 3. If you have to jump in a car to film, can you keep the EasyRig on you?

A: The Easyrig Minimax with Quick Release would not work well inside vehicles. I'm sure it would need to be removed and stored first. However if there is a sunroof you could stand in. Or used a Pickup truck bed to stand in, either of these locations would provide sufficient room.

Q: 4. Will this work with the Feiyu Tech AK4500 gimbal with dual handbar and black magic pocket 4k?

A: Max weight is around 14lbs for this. Keep in mind, an easy rig without a flowcine arm won’t stabilize your walking/the up and down motion of your movements and will likely exaggerate your movements.

Q: 5. What happens if you exceed the 15.4 lb weight limit? I know the old Mini spring could break.

A: Dear SirOn the Minimax, there an over weight protection. So it can not break, but at 15 pounds and more the spring will not work and the rope will be at the maximum expansion. Hope it will help. Pierre

Q: 6. Just wanted to ask for some feedback from users. If you had to choose only one, would you choose this or a vest steadicam?

A: Depending on the camera setup and the intention of the shooter, either stabilizer style can excel in production. If you are looking to lighten your overall load with a more handheld-like feel, the Easyrigs are a good solution. If you want a more characteristically cinematic shot I would recommend an arm/vest setup. Personal preference comes into play as well. The design of the Easyrig may not be ideal for certain indoor shots, whereas a arm/vest setup is usually a bit heavier and takes more practice to use effectively.

Q: 7. would it be possible to get a ronin s inverted mounted on an easyrig mini with a c200?

A: Would do not believe this would be possible and do not recommend it. The Ronin-S is really designed for smaller cameras and using a larger camera like the C200 on it might not be possible.

Q: 8. Is it compatible tonuse with ronin rs3pro and advanced ring grip from tilta?

A: Yes, so long as the combined weight of you RS 3 Pro, camera, and ring grip do not exceed the Easyrig Minimax STABIL Light Gimbal/Camera Support System with Standard Camera Hook's 15lbs weight capacity, the Easyrig Minimax STABIL Light Gimbal/Camera Support System with Standard Camera Hook will be able to support the rig.

Q: 9. Does this come with the quick release / ball system? (Or must you buy the easyrig WITHOUT the stabil light)

A: The Easyrig Minimax STABIL Light Gimbal/Camera Support System does not come with the Easyrig Quick Release Camera Mount. You can find that option here: https://bhpho.to/2GETzfb

Q: 10. Can a Zacuto Recoil handle be used with the Standard hook on a Easyrig Mninmax STABIL?

A: Yes, the Zacuto Tactical Handle is fully compatible with the Easyrig Mninmax STABIL.

[1/4"-20 Female] Moving around farms and working outside in varied locations, I found that sticks were too cumbersome for much of my work. I love the Easyrig Minimax now - it allows me to move around, helps stabilize my shots a bit, and really helps lessen the burden of carrying around 10 pounds of camera and monitor (Panasonic DVX200 with Ninja V).

I can grab more angles, carry the camera much easier, and shoot longer without back pain. It works as advertised - and I find that I forget that I'm wearing it.

I wish that I purchased one years ago.

It is a quality piece of equipment - from the clips to the bag to the quick-release mechanism. I highly recommend it.
I read many reviews and watched videos about this brand-name product and cheaper alternatives. Consistently, people say to buy the Easyrig brand due to quality and comfort. So I did.

[Vest System] Worth every penny! Back feels great after long days of shooting

I may need the vario 5 as my rig is near the top of the payload (with cine lenses)

[31.14 lb] Unless you're doing gimbal work, this is the best EasyRig for most setups.

The Vario gives the user the ability to adjust tension for a wide range of camera sizes and weights. The gimbal vest is great for waist support, much preferred over the original vest in my opinion. The 5 arm is the perfect size to get the camera off your shoulder but not be obtrusive in your environment.

Only wish I bought this sooner.

[1/4"-20 Female] Good Lord I waited too long to buy this. It's a hefty purchase (for me), but I've been spending too much money renting this same Easyrig since this particular nonsense came out.

The first week I had it I was strapped to an Arri Amira and some cinema zoom lenses that would've otherwise not been possible for me to operate handheld for as long as we were shooting. Had zero issues adjusting back to my much lighter RED DSMC2 and prime lens package.

I went with the Vario 5 because I knew I'd be using this Easyrig with multiple camera packages and weights. The 5 Extended Arm option was great for me because it allows me to reposition for different camera builds, center of gravities, and easily switch between shooting a balanced shoulder mount or from the hip. I chose the Cinema 3 Vest over the Gimbalrig because I like the smaller profile and it fits me better. I'm about 5'8, 160lbs, and I'm a 30-31 waist size.

[1/4"-20 Female] I really love using this easy rig. I have used it as a more handheld look with just the camera and a monitor and also used it with the tilt a ring on a full gimbal. It really helps take the weight and pressure off your neck and shoulders and allows you to operate for much longer periods of time. I do wish it was a little bit higher up above your head, and that the upgrade to the one that absorbs the bounce wasn't so much higher of a price point.

[Vest System] Unless you're renting in LA or NYC, it's nearly impossible to find a Vario 5 with a small operator vest. I'm 5'6, medium build (34 waist), and still need to tightly strap up on this rig. That tells me it'll fit someone taller and bigger than me. This rig is perfect for larger/heavier camera rigs and a Movi Pro. Fitted correctly, you don't feel any of the weight and I can see it working well with female operators as well.

One thing Easyrig doesn't really make clear and immensely valuable to me is:

The rig can quickly be raised and lowered about 5-6 inches. That might not seem like a lot but I'm short at 5'6 and the increased arm height allows me to raise the camera/Movi to film taller people without having to shoot up at them. It's just 4 screws that can be quickly adjusted within 2 minutes.

Finding a proper hard case to fly with this rig is not easy/cheap. BUT the vest can be easily separated from the arm in order to make the entire rig smaller and portable. Just takes adjusting the same 4 screws. Also helpful if you want to throw on a standard/larger vest for other operators.

The Serene Arm is amazing. Paired with a Movi/Ronin, proper handling, and rolling your steps, you can get some amazingly smooth footage. Remember to adjust the tension of your Serene Arm so it's parallel to the ground. Also remember to loosen the Serene Arm while traveling so you can safely bend it and make your rig smaller for packing.

[Quick Release] After years of renting Easy Rigs, dealing w/ the uneasy feeling knowing that other people probably sweat in them as much as I do and not knowing how good the rental houses clean these things, I finally got around to investing in one of these. Perfect for low mode where it can hold the camera weight chest height or lower, or static shoulder shots to give the shoulder a break. I've used this countless times over the years and finally got one. Should have done it sooner. Now I gotta save up for the Stabil arm
