Q: 2. How does one activate Flex Spot mode from the hand unit? And how to select objects?

A: The DJI Focus Pro Hand Unit does not have a button for triggering Flex Spot mode.

Q: 3. Is there way to send specific focus marks through the touch screen and then auto rack focus to those marks? (Not A/B end point)

A: In DJI Focus Pro in spot mode, you can select the target through the Handle screen.

Q: 5. Is there a way to easily/quickly switch between different focus motors in a multi cam shoot from the hand controller?

A: Yes, you could quickly pair another motor. However, having a second Hand Controller would be the best option and paired to the motors on the second Unit. While it is fast a second hand controller paired and setup would be the best way to work quickly and without setup delays on set.

Q: 6. Which direction does this unit pull focus? Is forward pulling infinite focus? Is backwards pulling for close upshots or is it the opposite?

A: As you rotate the follow focus ring to the right, it will also turn the lens ring to the right.

Q: 7. Does it need the high bright monitor to work, or can it be used on it's own?

A: You do not need the DJI High-Bright Remote Monitor, B&H # DJHBRM, in order to use the DJI Focus Pro Hand Unit.

Q: 8. can this be mounted to a rod at the top of a cage, like the SmallRig 1/2 cage for an FX3?

A: Yes, you can mount the edelkrone FocusONE v2 Follow Focus Unit to any 15mm rod, including the Smallrig Half Cage for the Sony FX3.

Q: 9. Can this be used with just the focus motors or does it have to be used with the gimbal as well?

A: The DJI Focus Pro Hand Unit is a totally wireless controller only for zoom focus and iris. Its small display mimics many of the functions of the DJI Focus Pro Hand Grip. The hand grip can control two motors and is the brain that connects to the DJI Focus Pro Lidar and can power motors as well from its BG21 battery for up to 5-7 hours. Basically, the Focus Pro grip is an RS4 gimbal brain on a handle.

Q: 10. How do you power the handgrip?

A: The handgrip of the SmallRig Wireless Follow Focus Controller Kit can be powered by an LP-E6 battery or USB cable power.

[Latch] It is really sturdy and it is fixed by just one rail. Because of this it swings out of the way when I bag my rail system. I have broken two FFs sliding them in and out of the truck. 5

[11.585 lb] Made very well... milled parts. No noticeable play in gears. Easy to use especially because the dial is facing toward the camera operator. Great for a one man band. 5

[Latch] I like how adjustable this is, and it feels like a quality item while having a relatively low price. I was worried that I'd have to spend 4 figures on a follow focus, but then I found this. It feels like the more expensive ones, too, and I like how there's a separate disk to mark focus points so that it's easier to clean dry erase markers off of it. 5

[Black] I bought this because of the Slider (Which is also fantastic). Great quality build, it's made of Metal (really good weight), and it's extremely smooth. I was initially worried about it slipping on the rod, but it's very snug, no slip. What really sold me on this was the option to use Reverse and Standard Focus, so you don't have to think which way to revolve (there's an extra gear you can move to make contact with the Lens Gear). Also, it fits on any Lens Gear. I use this with my C100 and a monopod / tripod. I recommend using with a Lens with IR, VR or VC. However, I don't think it works with a Ring Light set up (I have one from F and V Lighting), but it touches the right light unit. 5

[11.585 lb] The FocusOne Pro is solidly built and if nicely designed to accommodate lots of different rigs. For instance, I purchased the IndieTools rails for $99 and rented a Red Rock Micro follow focus to use with them. However, the Red Rock Micro follow focus slides onto both rails and the IndieTools rails did not provide enough height for my camera/lens, so the lens was hitting the crossbar of the follow focus! This is of course my fault, but when you're working with rented gear, you can't always check that stuff ahead of time. The FocusOne follow focus attaches to one rail only, meaning that it's as out of the way of your other attachments as it can possibly be. I read another review saying that the one-rail design was a little unstable and that this follow focus sometimes slips out of position, but I haven't had that problem. That reviewer said that s/he uses a few rubber bands to go from the follow focus to the other rail and that keeps it in place. NOTE: if you need a follow focus quickly, this is not for you. As of December 2014, it takes 6-10 weeks to ship (mine took about 8). I suspect they are built to order. 5
