A: Thank you for yoru question. This model is a replacement 3G and should work no problem with the Portaphone

A: That is correct, this is a 3-Pin Female XLR Connector. It has 7 contact points inside it, which is what 7-pole means.

Q: 9. What is the length of each segment -- that is, from an individual XLR plug to where it enters the four-cable bundle, and the segment where the four cables are bundled together? For instance, if the "fanned" portions were 2' each and the bundled portion were 10', it would be 14' from a male XLR plug to its matching female plug.

A: I just measured my cable, and each fan is approximately 2' and the bundled segment is about 6', so the total length (XLR male to XLR female) is the advertised 10'. You do not get a "bonus" 4' due to the two fans -- their length is included.

Q: 10. How long are the individual channel pigtails on each end of the bundled cable?

A: The distance from the start of the fan to the end is 2.5'.

[3 x 1 x 1"] It is perfect in every way that I'll ever use it, which is connecting a wireless mic to a small mixer (Shure PGXD to Mackie 402-VLX3). I don't know how flexible it is when it's cold, but I get the impression that it'll be better than most. 5

[0.1 lb] I am loving my new XLR cable. I came into B&H not knowing which cable i needed and how much they were. The adviser in the pro audio department went through a few options and I picked the Whirlwind 6 ft cable. It was a great price and great quality.
