This is one of those flashlights that will be going strong for years (unless you forget to change the D-cells for a couple of years and they leak...like I did with my first one.) This 3rd generation model is extremely bright, has many features and modalities and is very easy to use. 5

Having owned a Maglite Mini for years, I knew the quality of this manufacturer's products. I also knew the 6V lantern battery flashlights I've gotten for cheap were useful, but not what you want when you need to see what's out there. Having no idea about the advanced tech in these new lights, I was surprised not only at the brilliance of the light, but the functionality built-in. A good, bright light would have made me happy. But wait, there's more! The 3-position switch is easily programmable to any of several patterns of High, Medium, Eco and Strobe: pick any 3. (Now I know what those rioters were using in LA, et. al.) A great light that I'm sure will last for many years. 5

This is a perfect fit for my Manfrotto FAST tripod legs and Cartoni Focus HD head. It is well padded and the zipper is heavy duty and seems well made. There is a little side pocket where I store the leg spreaders. The design makes it very easy and quick to get the tripod in and out of the bag. 5 Stars for quality alone, and the price makes it an excellent value. 5
