Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this cable shielded? (Current cable is acting as an FM radio antenna)

A: Yes, the Senal Right-Angle Locking 3.5mm TRS to Right-Angle 3.5mm TRS Output Cable is shielded.

Q: 2. Is this cable compatible with smallRig vb99 battery?

A: No, this Kondor Blue Locking DC 2.1mm to Right-Angle DC 1.35mm Coiled Cable is made to attach to Kondor battery plates. The Locking connector side is 2.1mm and works with the Atomos battery eliminator for their Ninja and Shogun recorders. I will add a cable that would work with the VB99 below. Kondor Blue Coiled D-Tap to Locking DC 2.1mm Right-Angle Cable (16 to 50") BH #KODCTAP21LCK

Q: 3. will this work with a Camera as well? Particularly a Sony Mirrorless microphone input?

A: This cable is specifically made to take a typical TRS 3.5mm mic and convert it to connect to a TRRS mic input on a mobile device. It would not be appropriate to connect this adapter cable to a camera, and I cannot guarantee that it will work for that purpose.

Q: 4. Why won't it work directly with the Shogun Inferno 7" which has a DC 6-16v port already, why is the eliminator needed also?

A: The Atomos Shogun should have shipped with a Atomos Battery eliminator to work with the Camvate D-TAP cable, and the Shogun Inferno. The cable connects to the Battery eliminator. Atomos AtomX Sony L-Series Type Battery Eliminator BH #ATOMDCA001

Q: 5. Is this compatible with Sennheiser receivers?

A: Yes, this Senal cable is compatible with Sennheiser receivers. You may also want to look at the Sennheiser CL1 cable (B&H # SECL1) which serves the same purpose.

Q: 6. Hello, Can I use this with 2016 MacBook Pro running Mojave? I would like to use my Rode Video mic go. Thank you

A: Yes you can use the Rode SC7 cable with a Rode Videomic Go into a Macbook Pro.

Q: 7. Is there a longer version of this cable? Or a way to extend? I'm trying to use this with DJI Osmo Mobile and it is too short and restricts the movement of the gimbal.

A: I use this with the regular Osmo where the phone is the monitor. Unfortunately, I think any cable you try and use directly with the phone on the gimbal is not going to work because it will mess up the balance, even if it is longer.

Q: 8. Is the Senal Right-Angle Locking 1/8" Mini to 3-Pin XLR Output Cable (15") a truly balanced connector?

A: Yes. This is a balanced connector.

Q: 9. To use this cable with a modern iphone, you must use the apple lightning adapter (no 3.5mm jack in an iphone) - is this a barrier? I am getting no sound when recording video with an iphone, and since this is supposed to work with iOS, I assume the adapter is the issue? If so, are we expected to use iphones from 8 years ago for this to work?

A: The SC7 cable has 3.5mm TRS and 3.5mm TRRS connectors. The TRRS connector is compatible for use with mobile devices and can be combined with the Apple Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter (B&H # APLAADAP) to connect with iPhones that use a Lightning port. For iPads and Android devices that have a USB-C port, the SC7 can be combined with the Apple USB Type-C to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter (B&H # APMU7E2AMA). When the SC7 was originally introduced, Apple was still using a 3.5mm TRRS jack on the iPhone and the cable does work with Android devices that use TRRS. If you want to use one cable to connect directly from a 3.5mm TRS output to a Lightning port, you can use the Apple Lightning to 3.5mm Audio Cable (B&H # APLMADAP) or Comica Audio CVM-D-SPX(MI) 3.5mm TRS Male to Lightning Output Cable for Audio to iPhone (B&H # COCVMDSPXMI). Both will allow recording from an external microphone or wireless mic system.

Q: 10. Is this the cable that comes with the rode video micro? I lost that one and I think its a different cable. I need it for my sony a6500 not my phone.

A: It appears that the SC2 cable is included with the video micro. The SC7 3.5mm TRS to TRRS is a Patch Cable from Rode and is designed to allow you to connect the output from Rode's VideoMicro to a TRRS device, such as an iPhone, iPad, or a smartphone.

[0.085 lb] Not one of these bad Amazon imitations with cheap connectors and stiff cables. This one looks and feels exactly like the original RODE cable.

[Black] From my camera body to a camera mounted microphone, this cable was a good coiled replacement to look pretty on my rig. The rest of my cables are coiled, so it was a cosmetic choice.

[Black] Great cable. Does exactly what it's supposed to do. I've never been disappointed with a single RODE product I've ever bought, especially their cables. Solid product. Worth the slight price bump, IMO.

[0.085 lb] One of the best options for content makers who use microphones that are on top of cameras. It also provides flexibility when pulling or pulling. It is scientific and easy to store. It sends you the highest possible sound quality.
