The Impact Speed Ring for Paul C. Buff & Flashpointfrom Impact Speed Ring for Paul C. Buff & Flashpointfeatures indexed flex rod holes that allow you to effortlessly mount any square, rectangular, strip, or octagonal Luxbanx softbox to Paul C. Buff White Lightning and Balcar flash heads. The ring will also fit most other brands of softbox. The sturdy all-metal ring rotates 360 degrees to facilitate orientation or to clear obstacles in tight quarters. It has 3/8"-16 taps on two sides to allow mounting directly to grip gear such as Impact's Swivel Umbrella Adapter, 3 Section Double Articulated Arm, Super Clamp, and more.

A: The MagMod XL only comes with a bowens mount. The MagMod MagBox Speedring Adapter (Paul C. Buff) BH #MABXSPDPCB01 is not compatible.

A: Speed rings are built to a standard. This one is designed to be used with Balcar, Alienbees and Flashpoint series1. We are unable to measure the rings.

A: Aputure lights use a Bowens mount.

A: I bought the Impact LB-QL300 Luxbanx Duo Softbox (16 x 22 ) and had to use the Angler Speed Ring: B&H#AN7464SFS Mfr#7464-SFSThe Impact ring is apparently no longer manufactured. The Angler works perfectly.

Q: 5. Can this be used with the quikbox?

A: Unfortunately, this ring only works on softboxes that use a 4 rod system, such as the Impact Luxbanx Duo series. The image below shows one of this softboxes.

Q: 6. What's the difference between this and the one offered on PCBuff website for $19.99?

A: Its actually $29.95 on the buff website.

Q: 7. I can use this adapter with 2' Octagonal Softbox and Profoto 3' RFi Softbox Octa ?

A: This is compatible with RFi softboxes.

A: Yes, the impact speed ring is based on a Balcar design.

A: Yes, the Angler Speed Ring is compatible with the Godox Softbox with Bowens Speed Ring.

A: This ring will work with lights made by Paul C Buff.

[Aluminum] Pretty simple stuff, and priced accordingly, for once. It's a good, solid speedring that works well for my old octaboxes and other softboxes that I've used with speedlights. Even though there are numbered reference points on the speedring, I'd recommend that they color-code them for easier, speedier identification. A couple of magic markers or drops of paint should do the trick. 5
