Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Which is the best of the three band choices for New York City?

A: The three frequency ranges of the Sony URX-P41D Dual-Channel Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver all have many available channels for use in the New York City area. With 2,772 frequencies in each band and the ability to scan for the cleanest channel based on location, each range should have minimal issues finding an open frequency, even in dense RF environments. The UC14 and UC25 bands are most common and recommended in this scenario.

Q: 2. Will this work with the Sony A7C

A: Yes, the Sony URX-P41D Dual-Channel Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver is compatible for use with the Sony a7C Mirrorless Camera through both its wired 3.5mm audio connection as well as the wireless Multi-Interface Shoe connection. The MI Shoe requires the implementation of the Sony SMAD-P5 Digital MI Shoe Adapter for UWP-D Series (BH #SOSMADP5) to connect wirelessly.

Q: 3. Battery Type-4 is not described in your manual or anywhere on the web. What type of battery is type4?

A: Page 34 in the manual for the Sony URX-P41D Dual-Channel Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver (UC14: 470 to 542 MHz) describes Type 4 as a 2500mAH AA battery like BH #WAAAALAX8 for example. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/833188.pdf

Q: 4. Will the SMAD-P3 work with this system?

A: No, the SMAD-P5 would be the compatible model for the URX-P41D.

Q: 5. Will the balanced output drive a device that requires line level input? I was thinking of connecting it directly to the line level input of the Radial EXO-POD.

A: The Sony URX-P41D Dual-Channel Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver is only capable of Mic level output signals and does not offer Line level output.

Q: 6. Does the URX-P41D provide a stereo digital Mi connection with a FX30 camera when used in conjunction with the SMAD-P30 adaptor?

A: Yes, the Sony URX-P41D Dual-Channel Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver can send stereo audio into the MI shoe of a Sony camera, but the adapter you would need is the SMAD-P5.

Q: 7. will it work with UTX B03 mics? Or the mic transmitter utxPO3?

A: The Sony URX P41D Dual-Channel Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver is compatible with UTX B03, UTX P03, or UTX M03 transmitters. Just make sure the frequency range of the transmitter matches the receiver.

Q: 8. Does this model have the digital switch that's on the bottom of the single version?

A: No. I think you are referring to the Analog/Digital switch on the optional SMAD-P5 Digital MI Shoe Adapter (B&H # SOSMADP5) that allows you to mount the Sony URX-P41D Dual-Channel Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver on select Sony camcorders and cameras equipped with the MI shoe to enable cable-free connection for both audio and power.

Q: 9. Will this work with the lightening Cable that comes with Iphone, or do you need to buy a Iphone lighten cable with a female Trrs?

A: Yes. This Rode SC4 will allow a microphone to connect to a phone. It would still require an Apple adaptor B&H # APLAADAP

Q: 10. If utilizing this receiver with a Sony FX-3 and the SMAD-P5 and using two transmitters, is the system still true diversity? Also, is auto gain control the only option with the SMAD-P5 and the FX-3?

A: Yes, the Sony URX-P41D Dual-Channel Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver still uses true diversity reception when receiving audio from two transmitters and connected to the Sony SMAD-P5 Digital MI Shoe Adapter.

[0.175 lb] This low-profile XLR connector is exactly what we needed for our rack-mounted Mackie 1402-VLZ Pro 14-Channel Mic/Line Mixer to be able to close the rack cabinet door. Just be careful to insulate all bare conductors and solder terminals inside the shell. There is so little room inside the assembled shell that any un-insulated conductor WILL short out!

[0.175 lb] I use this to plug my microphones into a MOTU UltraLite Mk5. The mic connectors in the front are the only thing I don't like about it, it makes a mess on my desk. This connector helps a lot to run the cable so it doesn't take up much space in front of the interface at all.

[0.175 lb] Use it to feed a Rode Wireless GO II into a Tascam DR-701D and this is a quality, well built unit.

[Black / Yellow] 4 pin XLRs are not so common (compared to 3pin) so it's nice that someone is making a low profile one.

Item is solidly built and works well.

[0.175 lb] Works great as an adapter for my under desk mounted 4i4. Being able to rotate the back end around to direct the cable in whichever direction on both ends is nice. Hex is small though so you'll need the right size bit to make it work, H0.9 size worked for me.
