Designed to deliver the transparent, low-noise audio control expected of Drawmer's MC series controllers, the MC2.1 Monitor Controller is versatile and intuitive, balancing accuracy and fidelity with complex mix checking features for any studio environment. With versatile I/O and dual headphone outputs, you can connect to a wide range of studio gear, including three switchable audio sources, and the controller can be stacked for expanded control as your studio grows.

The MC2.1 sports XLR-1/4" combo and XLR 3-pin stereo pair inputs, along with RCA and 3.5mm inputs, plus three pairs of XLR 3-pin speaker outputs, a dedicated mono/sub XLR output, and a 1/4" talkback output for use with the internal talkback mic. The MC2.1 supports all the mix checking and control functions expected of a robust monitor controller, such as individual speaker control and switching for A/B comparisons, dim, left/right selection or mute, and phase reversal. The rugged steel and aluminum chassis can be screwed to a desk and includes an external AC power adapter with automatic voltage switching for global compatibility.

Whether you’re mastering a CD/DVD, recording, checking a mix for balance, doing A/B comparisons, plus a multitude of other tasks, you’ll have spent weeks designing the perfect studio environment and a fortune on your studio setup. A monitor controller is central to every recording setup and probably the most important element of the entire signal chain, providing the reference listening signal that enables the user to achieve the optimal mic placements, the perfect balance, ideal EQ, and more.

As such, the MC2.1 delivers transparent and ultralow noise operation for a truly accurate sound reproduction. This is achieved thanks to a linear power supply with a low-hum toroidal transformer, and an internal voltage selector switch for universal mains compatibility.

The MC2.1 incorporates four inputs with three stereo-balanced speaker outputs, plus a dedicated mono speaker/sub-woofer output, each with individual left/right trims under the unit to provide complete control over level matching. The active circuit has been designed to faithfully produce the audio signal while removing many of the problems that a passive circuit will bring. In addition, it has a host of mix checking features not often found on other controllers, such as individual left/right cut, as well as two separate headphone amplifiers and a talkback facility, making the MC2.1 a true engineer's tool.

While you can easily stack your MC2.1 controllers for greatly expanded control options, you can also rack mount the monitor controller with the 2 RU MCB Rack Mounting Kit to keep your work desk clean and clear. The MCB Rack Mounting Kit contains two side panels/ears, a front facia, and also a lead that brings the AUX input from the back of the MC2.1 to the front panel for easy access. The kit also includes all the necessary screws, an assembly instruction manual, and an Allen key.

[Black] Works as expected. Although there are many options out there for this type of unit, I picked this one for it's assortment of input and output connector options. Unit is sturdy and has some weight to it so it doesn't slide around the desk.

[20 VA] Super easy to set up and works as described, adds zero noise, just passes the sound through. The mute and mono buttons are a huge plus. It also looks wicked cool compared to other choices. A steal at this price.

[Black] Very nice build quality: solid buttons and smooth volume knob.

Nice selection of plugs and ports (stereo).

Can actually have 3 inputs all plugged in at once, though 2 of them (unbalanced 1/8 and RCA) are on the same channel and can't be played simultaneously. The balanced channel is only 1/4 plugs

Only one input channel can be enabled at a time.

Outputs can be selected individually (either one on or both off/on). In my case, output A is to the mains and B to the subwoofer.

No degradation to audio quality has been observed.

[20 VA] Essential for anyone who works with music or video on the computer...the MoCo is simple but its use becomes as ingrained as the mouse. Having the gain so close means you do not need to think about turn it up/down, your hand just does it while you concentrate on other tasks. Not much to it, it just works.

[Steel, Aluminum] I've had this in my shopping cart for weeks and finally decided to buy it. I live in Canada and you can't get these here. I didn't want the Mackie Big Knob products because of the not so steller reviews concerning noise. I needed a controller to switch back and forth between my Eris monitors and my DT 770 Pro 250 ohms powered by a Monoprice headphone amp. It is flawless and very transparent no noise or added color from what I can tell. The knob is smooth and box doesn't feel cheap at all. I was a little hesistant to order out of country, but I chose the option that prepays all the duties and taxes and I got it via ups in about 4 days. Very fast! Highly recommend.. Just make sure you pre- plan to know what type of cables you might need depending on your setup.

[21 dBu] I was swapping XLR cables among different audio equipment feeding my studio monitors. I thought about getting or building an a/b box but after researching I learned about the Drawmer monitor controller. Now I just press buttons instead of pulling and tripping over cables. I also bought a Blackstar bluetooth receiver and added it on the back of the Drawmer. Now I can switch among my iphone on the Blackstar, my phono equipment, and my DAW audio interface. And should I add another set or two of speakers, I can. It's great. And so is B&H.

[27 dBu] For context, I am not a sound engineer and I've been using the Polsen Volume Controller at my home work station.

I think this volume controller is fantastic. Here are a few things that stand out me...

- the metal construction feels and looks great on my desk
- the metal knob is large and smooth
- I especially like the rubber feet that keep the device from slipping in sliding
- the mute button is an added bonus
- no extra adaptor is needed to power the device!

[I have received this product in exchange for my honest review]

[20 VA] I have two different pairs of monitors. This lovely little device allowed me to run either one or both individually or together as well as control the volume right at the desktop. It works flawlessly and takes up very little space. Highly recommended!
