[Sony L-Series] PLEASE NOTE YOU MUST BY THE OFFICIAL PANASONIC DC COUPLER WITH THIS TO MAKE IT WORK!! They cost around $20.00 This is a great addition to any Panasonic GH2 Kit as it allows you to run your GH2 of Sony NP Batteries which can be found almost anywhere on the internet and are incredibly cheap and can last for hours. I bought this for a concert where I had the Panasonic GH2 up near the roof of the arena and needed to run the camera for a long time. I also bought a Sandisk 64GB Extreme Pro card for high data rates for the shoot. Overall the Power Plate worked well and can run the camera for around 2-4 hours on a single NP-F970. I have a cheap chinese rip off battery so the run time is considerably less than the official Sony. This is a far more economical and cost effective solution than power the camera of the official Panasonic batteries. I would only recommend this solution for video work however and not for photography. The battery light blinks green when the battery is getting low. However I would like to have a red light instead to indicate this. But that isn't that much of an issue. The only other issue is mounting the thing. I threw this onto a Manfrotto 504HD head and there was plenty of room for this to sit on top with the GH2 also. If you were going handheld you would need to mount this sucker with some screws or gaffe tape as there is no mounting plate provided or even a 1/4 inch screw mount. So I'm just going to glue a cheap cold shoe mount to the base so it can dock easily wherever I put it. Overall it was a very good purchase and I couldn't of done the shoot without it.

[2] Great product! Very versatile! I can use NP-F batteries to charge my video panel light. Very compact and works great. Love the idea that do not have to carry an additional power cable.

[2] I purchased these batteries to power my Hollyland Mars 300 wireless HDMI transmitter/receiver. I have been using them for 4 weeks now. They have worked great. I like the indicator lights on the charger - very easy to read. Be sure to purchase a 24W 2A USB wall power charger so the USB connection on the GVM charger can complete the recharge quickly.

[2] I have six of these and two Sony NP-F970 batteries that I have used for the past two years. The NP-F970s are obviously better despite being over ten years old. They last forever, though at less than half the price, these GVMs are far more than half as good. On the con side, I have three of these chargers and they are just OK. One stopped working after a year and another does not work with the attached yellow usb cable. The batteries, however, are still going strong - powering my GVM lights and my various monitors. I will be buying a couple more this weekend.

[2] Much better than most other NP-F batteries out there. It contributes to my mobility for my video light. Don't have to worry about the battery running out of power. No need to carry a AC power adapter.

[Sony L-Series] I really like the way it attaches to the fixture and I love the power indicator. My batteries don't have one.

It would be nice if the AC could attached like that.


I had little spots that were overheating went used with batteries

'cause the fan didn't work without AC. The CL60 fan's is operationnal

when used with this set up but don't go too high on brightness. With two NP of 4400mAh, the CL60 at 40 % and 4000K, it ran for 2 hours.
Another pair of identical batteries lasted 20 minutes. So check your batteries and if the amount of time is not sufficent, the problem is there.
When I use a spot on batteries, it's because I want to be quick or I'm outside at night, in dim places... It's not to fight a strong backlight. 40% on the CL60 is strong enough.

[Sony L-Series] I have been using GVM LED lighting equipment over the past several years and the lights have been reliable and durable thus far. Fully charged batteries are also an issue and I keep several extra so that I don't run out of juice during a shoot. This charger works well with the F-970 batteries and I experienced no issues with the charger. Easy to use. Compact and must have.
