The matte gray Schoeps Colette CMC 1 L Amplifier MK 2S Omni Capsule Setis a miniature Colette Series microphone amplifier offering uncompromising high fidelity in a lightweight and ultracompact form factor for studio recording, broadcast, and live stage applications. Presented as an alternative to the renowned Schoeps CMC 6 amplifier, the CMC 1 L is compatible with all existing MK mic capsules and Colette active accessories (all available separately).

It features a balanced mini LEMO output, compliance with 12V or 48V phantom power, and low current consumption. Its Schoeps RFI Shield provides high immunity from RF interference for a clean, low-noise signal. The CMC 1 L supports the high maximum SPLs tolerated by the various MK mic capsules (available separately). A stand adapter and a 16.4' mini LEMO to XLR 3-pin male adapter cable are supplied with the CMC 1 L.

Q: 4. How to know your lens thread count?

A: On most lenses there is a diameter symbol printed on the lens followed by a number such as Ø77. That would be the filter thread size of the lens. It is often on the inside of a lens cap too. If you cannot find the number, please contact us and we can help determine the size.

Q: 5. How does it physically connect to the camera/device? 1/4" x 20 or 3/8" x 16 thread?

A: The Moza Air 2S Handheld Gimbal Stabilizer's camera mounting plate uses a 1/4-20. All gimbals this size use the 1/4-20. The 3/8-16 is for mounting heavy cameras or mounting tripod heads.

Q: 6. Does it come with focus motor

A: No it does not.

Q: 7. Will this suspension fit with Sennheiser 8040, 30 and 40?

A: It might but it comes with all the Schoeps mic's. You cannot buy this without the mic's.

Q: 9. Can you use this system with an analog EW100 system for panel discussion or is the delay going to cause out of sync problems?

A: The Sennheiser EW-D 835-S SET Digital Wireless Handheld Microphone System has a latency of about 1.9 ms, so the offset will not be substantial when used alongside an analog wireless system.

[>55 dB at 1 kHz] I am using this for recording violin, acoustic guitar, mandolin, and piano, and all sound great. I already own the mk4 and love it, but wanted something a little more directional that can reject some of the room noise, since I am not recording in a totally isolated environment. The mk41 sounds just as good as the mk4 and definitely cuts down on any background noise. Only downside is that I have less leeway to move around when recording, whereas with the mk4, which has a wider capture, it's a little more forgiving. But I got the mk41 specifically for this purpose to just focus on what's directly in front of it, and it's doing the job even better than expected without any loss of quality or musicality in the tone. Love it! And plus one for B+H's amazing customer service. They were extremely helpful. 5

[1 oz / 28 g] They're Schoeps so there's little to say about that. I've used this stereo set in a variety of ways. From recording choirs to field recording train stations and dance rehearsals. They're crystal clear and capture sound exactly as you hear it. It's incredible how compact they are. The preamps are compatible with other Schoeps Colette capsules so there's a lot of modularity you can get with this set. You're making a big investment with this stereo set and you get what you pay for. 5

[1.415 lb] In short: low self-noise, improved isolation from room reverb, balanced frequency response, needs an audio recorder with quality preamps I used to run a shotgun mic into my Canon C70 for all my interviews, indoor or outdoor, and now my workflow and quality has improved dramatically. I find this microphone well balanced across the frequency range, with soft s sibilance and no boominess in low or mid-range frequencies. It does a slightly better job at isolating from room reverb, which results in greater source sound clarity. You need to pair this mic with the clean preamps of an equally exceptional audio recorder to really appreciate the sound, as the self-noise levels of your camera preamps can disguise how truly quiet this mic's self-noise actually is. It needed about 15db more gain than my shotgun mic, but between the audio recorder upgrade and this mic my noise floor is now -5db lower than running my shotgun straight into camera. What I hear through my headphones now is truly a natural mirror of real life sound and room tone, not merely an interpretation of it mixed with the hiss of camera preamps. Hard to describe until you A/B test for yourself, but it is the most natural sounding microphone I've ever used! 5

[1" / 25.5 mm] I've only used it once so far for and indoor scene but I couldn't help but notice how it performed over my Sennheiser MKH 416. True, the MKH 416 is better equipped for outside but up until now that was all I had. I loved how if my actors were slightly off from their spot or turned their heads I suffered no roll-off problems at all. The over all tone of the voices was so clear and natural. I can't wait to use this mic on a larger scale. 5

[1.415 lb] Schoeps says that there's no discernible difference in sound quality, but when I heard this one, I put my CMC6 up for sale immediately. The higher SPLs do make a difference; and to my ear the CMC1 has a more clean and transparent sound to it. I know that sounds lame, but it's hard to describe. This CMC1 is amazing. HIGHLY recommended. 5

[20 Hz to 20 kHz] I use a pair of these for my MS setup(cmc1’s, mk8, mk22). When these were released in 2019 it was welcomed with open arms. I went from a 13” to 6.7” Rycote windshield. Amazing! Size and weight is a big deal for me as I hike to my locations and I carry the mentioned MS setup plus an ORTF(2 ccm4’s). They perform excellent as expected and they draw less battery power than the CMC6. I had no reason to not own a pair. 5
