The matte gray Schoeps Colette CMC 1 L MK 41V Stereo Microphone Setis a miniature Colette Series microphone amplifier offering uncompromising high fidelity in a lightweight and ultracompact form factor for studio recording, broadcast, and live stage applications. Presented as an alternative to the renowned Schoeps CMC 6 amplifier, the CMC 1 L is compatible with all existing MK mic capsules and Colette active accessories (all available separately).

It features a balanced mini LEMO output, compliance with 12V or 48V phantom power, and low current consumption. Its Schoeps RFI Shield provides high immunity from RF interference for a clean, low-noise signal. The CMC 1 L supports the high maximum SPLs tolerated by the various MK mic capsules (available separately). A stand adapter and a 16.4' mini LEMO to XLR 3-pin male adapter cable are supplied with the CMC 1 L.

Q: 1. is the mount required in order to use this microphone for the nikon D5300?

A: It is a standard Nikon standard shoe mount. No special mount needed. You just slide it into your hot shoe on your Nikon camera and connect the 3.5mm mini-plug to your Nikon camera or Canon(I haven't tried it) etc, but if you have a flash, etc you must either remove it or get a bracket so that you can mount both your flash and mic at the sometime. It works great on my Nikon D5200. But remember if you use Nikon TTL-flash, your flash will need to communicate to the camera through the shoe mount. The mic does not communicate any other info to the camera than the miniplug. The mic will also work on other brands of cameras, camcorders, computers etc, equipped with a 3.5mm mini plug/jack which is most. The 3.5 miniplug/jack is pretty common in electronics today. It generates enough signal strength so it need no batteries. Ron

Q: 2. Can I make this microphone also input to my computer directly?

A: The Nikon ME-1 Stereo Microphone would work with a computer that has a standard microphone mini input.

Q: 3. Is there an audio jack within in the mic so I can listen to the sound while recording?

A: There is no jack on the unit. Just a 2-position rotary switch on the back and a cord with a 1/8 stereo plug coming out of it.

Q: 4. I have a Nikon D3100. Will this microphone work for my camera?

A: My D3100 does not have an input jack. I believe that option came later, so you can not use this for that model.

Q: 5. Is this mic compatible with the Nikon D3200?

A: It's compatible with all Nikon models that have a stereo audio input. The unit works great with my D800. If the D3200 has an audio input you should have no problem.

Q: 6. is this mic compatible with any dslr? I use canon(60d) and i want a mic in dimensions like ME-1.

A: The Nikon ME-1 Stereo Microphone is compatible with any DSLR that has a 3.5mm stereo mini jack. As the Canon 60D has a 3.5mm Stereo mini jack, the Nikon ME-1 would be compatible with the Canon 60D.

Q: 7. Is this microphone compatible with the Nikon D5 DSLR ?

A: Yes, the Nikon ME-1 Stereo Microphone is fully compatible for use with the Nikon D5 DSLR camera.

Q: 8. Can you connect this to an iPad for capturing audio while shooting video?

A: I use mine with an iPhone 7, via two adapters: an aftermarket TRS to TRRS and Apple's TRRS to Lightning. It works great and I couldn't discern a difference in quality between recording with a Zoom H1 and the iPhone.

Q: 9. Can the ME-1 be used on a Nikon D810 when the built in camera flash is being used in the commander mode for off camera flash control?

A: DONT KNOW I USE ONLY D7100 NIKON CAMERA

Q: 10. Is this mic compatible with Nikon D90?

A: Unfortunately, the ME-1 Stereo Microphone is not compatible with the Nikon D90 as the D90 does not have an external mic input.

[1.415 lb] I am using this for recording violin, acoustic guitar, mandolin, and piano, and all sound great. I already own the mk4 and love it, but wanted something a little more directional that can reject some of the room noise, since I am not recording in a totally isolated environment. The mk41 sounds just as good as the mk4 and definitely cuts down on any background noise. Only downside is that I have less leeway to move around when recording, whereas with the mk4, which has a wider capture, it's a little more forgiving. But I got the mk41 specifically for this purpose to just focus on what's directly in front of it, and it's doing the job even better than expected without any loss of quality or musicality in the tone. Love it! And plus one for B+H's amazing customer service. They were extremely helpful. 5

[1" / 25.5 mm] The sound is crystal clear, no coloring at all but of course you have to get it close to the source. I think this is the best mic you can buy for interiors and unlike a new camera, it will last me forever. Expensive, yes, but I think it will hold its value and is a good investment for my audio bag. 5

[1 Kilohm] They're Schoeps so there's little to say about that. I've used this stereo set in a variety of ways. From recording choirs to field recording train stations and dance rehearsals. They're crystal clear and capture sound exactly as you hear it. It's incredible how compact they are. The preamps are compatible with other Schoeps Colette capsules so there's a lot of modularity you can get with this set. You're making a big investment with this stereo set and you get what you pay for. 5

[1.415 lb] I use a pair of these for my MS setup(cmc1’s, mk8, mk22). When these were released in 2019 it was welcomed with open arms. I went from a 13” to 6.7” Rycote windshield. Amazing! Size and weight is a big deal for me as I hike to my locations and I carry the mentioned MS setup plus an ORTF(2 ccm4’s). They perform excellent as expected and they draw less battery power than the CMC6. I had no reason to not own a pair. 5
