Mount lights on your wall and keep your studio free from stands with the 4.3' Wall-Mounting Boom Arm from Neewer. This black wall boom includes four expansion anchors, allowing you to mount it on load-bearing walls and support up to 6.6 lb. The boom has an extension of 2.6 to 4.3' and features a reversible 5/8" Baby pin stud with a 1/4"-20 threaded stud for mounting light fixtures or grip gear on one end and a 3/8"-16 threaded stud on the other end.

The boom's extension range is controlled by a knuckle, as with a typical stand, and a single locking lever allows you to adjust and lock the angle of the boom, which has a 180° range, so you can collapse it flat against the wall when not in use. In addition, the boom has a 180° "pan" range, adjustable by loosening and tightening a pair of nuts and bolts, allowing you to adjust the angle relative to the wall.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I understand that the boom itself has 2 connectors (3/8" & 5/8"). However, what is the thread for mounting the clamp assembly itself? is the "short tube" that is pictured "faded out" at the bottom included? How does this mount onto anything?

A: The manufacturer listing for the K&M 21431 Mini Boom Arm only mentions "wing nut" clamping. The vertical pole pictured in this product image is not included with the boom arm. Given that this arm is meant for mounting onto mic stands, which standardly have a 5/8" thread, it can be presumed that the wing nut hardware included likely adapts to 5/8" threads in some manner.

Q: 2. Load capacity is listed at 22 lbs. Is this for fully retracted or fully extended?

A: On the Neewer UA016 Baby 5/8" Offset Arm, the load capacity of 22 lbs. is intended to reflect the fully extended position of this Offset Arm. This is the most stressful point in the Offset Arms construction so care should be taken not to exceed this load capacity.

Q: 3. what is the minimum length?

A: As per the manufacturer, the minimum length of the Neewer Wall-Mounting Boom Arm is approximately 28 inches.

Q: 4. What is the diameter of the boom shaft at the back end where the counterweight is located?

A: I am sorry but K&M does not provide that spec.

Q: 5. Could I use this for a Aputure LS1S Light?

A: Yes this boom can work with lights such as the Aputure LS 1S.

Q: 6. Is the threaded connection on the bottom 5/8" ? I didn't see it listed on the product page.

A: the bottom of this boom arm is designed to fit into an existing mic stand, the 5/8" thread listed is at the top on the boom arm, to allow for industry standard a mic clip/holder for a microphone.

Q: 7. Does this fit a Bogen 3090 stand?

A: The following unit will adapt to anything that features a 5/8 opening

Q: 8. Is there a weight limit if using with fabric?

A: The support system is made to handle all types of backdrops regardless of the material. When installed properly, each roller has a maximum load capacity of 22lb.

Q: 9. What are the dimensions of the wall mounting bracket?

A: The plate measures 9 7/8" X 3 9/16".

Q: 10. What mounting hardware does this come with? I'm planning on mounting to a brick wall -- is the hardware sufficient?

A: The Manfrotto 098B Wall Mounting Boom Arm, Black - 47.2-82.6" (1.2-2.1m) BH #MA098B does not come with mounting hardware. You will need to get the right form of bolts or anchors depending on the wall you will mount it to.

[Aluminum] I shoot every day in my small woodshop and I kept tripping over the tripod. This mount allows me to position my camera at an infinite number of positions to capture every corner and angle of my shop. The long, telescoping boom arm is really stable and the included clips capture your cords and keeps them organized. I paired this with a ball and socket tripod head to allow even more adjustability to the camera angle

[Aluminum] I saw a version of the Manfrotto wall mount arm, actually the Auto version with a spring loaded balancer, I did some research and found the 098B wall mount boom arm. This item was much cheaper, and had the features I needed up/down horizontal. the length of the boom is adjustable though theres a maximum weight limit on the end of the boom. I use an manfrotto autopole to support the boom arm though it's probably not recommended, but it gives more options to locate different light sources. I would use a pack/head light setup with umbrella. The profoto D1 I have seems to be a bit heavy at max. extension

[Wall Mount Boom] These Neewer Wall-Mounting Boom Arms have been extensively utilized in my studio/photography space. Easy to install and adjustable. Great for extending your lights or camera in different directions around your studio space and subject without the hassle of light stands that need to be lifted and moved constantly.

[Wall Mount Boom] I was using another major name Wall Mount Boom Arm which doesn't rotate 90 in full which is a big issue as the light sticks out when fully closed. The Manfrotto is very smooth and precise. It's a bit more expensive so I bought another name which I knew of. That was a mistake as I saved nothing. I highly recommend calling B&H and ordering the Manfrotto which comes in two sizes. In the end I bought both sizes for various needs and I am very well pleased with the Manfrotto and with B&H.

[Wall Mount Boom] This is my second Manfrotto boom mount, and I absolutely love it. I love that I can free up my floor space. I plan on using it for my hair light and for my beauty dish. Well worth the money. One thing to note..it does take some getting use to maneuvering it around when you have it fully extended or nearly extended, but that is to be expected when you have that extra weight at the end, so I am not deducting any starts for it. My studio room is 12 ft wide and works perfectly for me.

[5.73 lb] This wall boom is a great replacement for a light stand. It really frees up a lot of floor space. Also it eliminates the need for counterweights and the possibility of tipping. (I had a gymnast doing acrobatic poses who was really anxious about knocking over light stands - no worry now) The diameters of the boom segments are larger than I expected - larger than the stand-mounted boom it replaced. Quite sturdy, adjusts smoothly and easily. The instructions are meager - no suggestion for mounting height. I figured it should be high enough to walk under but low enough to reach easily. I held it up at arms length, holding the boom horizontally in my clenched fist to determine how high to mount it. I removed the base plate from the boom arm to mount it and then re-attached the boom arm. About four inches lower would have been better for ease of adjustment without having to stand on tip-toes. I intend to lower it when I get around to it. I use the boom for my hair light, a small mono-light. It's cord is too short to reach from the end of the boom to the wall plug, so I mounted a surge protector extension cord on the wall near the base plate of the boom. This provides the convenience of a remote on-off switch. I'm pleased with this boom. It's an excellent alternative to a stand-mounted boom. I'm considering getting more, perhaps the shorter model, for a couple of background lights.

[5.73 lb] We've mounted 2 arms in our 25' wide shooting area as primary BG light mounts. These arms allow a very wide adjustment range and are strong enough to easily hold a monobloc and medium soft box - perfect for high key. Clients have mentioned how they feel less closed in now that the c-stands are gone from the sides of the shooting area. Re-configuring from High-Key to std portrait, accent or even noir style lighting is very quick and easy. Swiveling and feathering the lights is also fairly easy to accomplish using a step stool. Be aware: The mounting plates are drilled for 2 optional widths of bolting to the wall, and neither one is suitable for a standard stud width - you'll have to angle the mount bolts slightly towards stud center to get a complete bite on all 4 bolts using the narrower set of holes. However, doing so makes for a rather rigid mount. If you can manage it, put 2 studs together and use the wide spacing pattern to mount.

[Aluminum] Long wall mounted boom arm, reduce the number of tripods you have standing on your studio floor. It is very long, suitable for large studios but not small ones.

[Wall Mount Boom] This thing is perfect. I needed this to fit in a spot without having too much clutter. I am currently using a Speedlight on an umbrella adapter on it. Easy installation and holds that amount of weight with no difficulty.

[Wall Mount Boom] This is strong enough to hold a White Lightning Ultra 1600, which is exactly what I needed it for. My new studio is a bit smaller than my old one, and a regular free standing boom is a little too big to be convenient.
