Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I have a brownie Target six 16 will this film fit that camera? I would really like to try out this old camera!

A: I'm sorry, no, the Six 16 takes 616 film.

Q: 2. I have an old Kodak bantam f/ 4.5. will this film work for that?

A: Yes, the Kodak Bantam f/ 4.5 accepts 828 film like the Film for Classics Professional Tri-X 400 Black and White Negative Film (828 Roll Film).

Q: 3. Does this film have the original widely-spaced holes on one side of the film like the original 828 ? OR . . . does it have the closely-spaced double sprockets on both sides like 35mm film has ?

A: This film has no sprocket holes.

Q: 4. What is this used for and how?

A: This 100' roll of ISO 400 B&W film is made to be used in a bulk film loader - B&H # LE63000 - along with 35mm film cassettes - BH #KACP35 - to roll your own rolls of film. There is a significant price savings. You can get about 18 36 exposure rolls out of 100'. Ignoring the start up cost of the loader, and the often reusable cassettes, that prices out to $2.77/roll. That same 36 exposure film packed regular, is $4.29. In addition to the saving, you can roll short rolls. Want 10 exposures, you got it, 21 exposures , you got it. see chart for calculating frames per roll length: http://www.rogerandfrances.com/photoschool/ps%20how%20load%20bulk.html

Q: 5. what is expiration date?

A: B&H buys and sells film in bulk. In general we regularly maintain fresh film stock. All of our film is at least 6 months from expiration (typically much longer). Anytime film stock is less than 6 months from expiration we sell it in a separate section and label it as short-dated film and also price it with a slight discount (again due to the volumes we sell this rarely occurs). Unfortunately we do not have access to our inventory to hand inspect the expiration date of any of our films prior to purchase.

Q: 6. is this for a pony 828 camera?

A: Yes, this is 828 size film. the Kodak Pony was made in two size, 828 and 135. Be sure you have the Pony 828 and if so, this film will work for you.

Q: 7. Will this film work in my old Kodak bantam f/4.5? I also don't know how to develop it or any other films in this camera

A: The Film for Classics Pan 400 Black and White Negative Film (828 Roll Film) is compatible with the Kodak Bantam f/4.5 camera. The Darkroom does process 828 films. Here is their website: https://thedarkroom.com/film-formats/828-film/.

Q: 8. Does this have a paper back? I know original 828 film did...I just want to make sure I can load it into my pony 828 in the light.

A: Yes. The following unit is based on paper back.

Q: 9. Where can I get this film developed and can they digitize it?

A: B&H can developed, printed, and digitized as well. Or Any place that developed B&W film.

Q: 10. Can I unspool and load in 126 cartridges?

A: Because 126 film is smaller than 828, you cannot respool the 828 film into a 126 cartridge.

[127.0 µm] I love this film. I main film was T-Max400 for 30 years and I had great luck with it. But I tried a few rolls of Kentmere Pan 400 and have not gone back. I shoot mostly 120 but some 35 mm as well and the results are perfect for my use. I no longer print on silver paper but rather scan to make digital negatives for palladium and other historic processes. The Kentmere scans easily. It is also very forgiving which is important when I use it in some very old cameras that have funky shutters. With my Hasselblad, the results are perfect. And of course the cost is a benefit as well. I meter at 250 and process in Ilfosol 3, 68 degrees for 6 minutes. The film base is a bit thinner than the T-Max but I have no trouble getting it on the reel. It dries flat. I am sticking with it. Excellent film.

[0.035 lb] This is a great budget film for medium format film cameras. Sharp and not too much grain. Definitely pick up a roll and try it yourself. You wont be disappointed.

[1] I've lost count of all the rolls of 828 film I've purchased from B&H over the years. A lot. Each roll is perfect. Fresh and trouble free to use in my Kodak Bantam Special camera. These hand-loaded film spools are finely crafted, you will be very happy with their use.

[0.035 lb] Purchased this to learn how to use the rb67. Great film. Lots of upper mids/highlights when developed in HC110. Excellent when pushed a stop to gain a bit more black/lower tones. Will definitely continue to use.
