[Nylon] Clamp works perfectly and allows me to move the boom stand around - and not cause damage to the desk or table on which I move it.

[Nylon] I recently videoed a very large convention over a three-day period with nearly non-stop meetings that took place on multiple floors of a very large hotel. This dolly was indispensable because I could just wheel the camera, tripod, all needed accessories including a power strip attached to the leg of the tripod to each new meeting location, into and out of the elevators and over carpeted and tiled floors and threshold strips. In addition to the ruggedness of the dolly, the three-inch diameter wheels were the best feature as the larger wheels roll over irregularities in the floor much easier than smaller wheels.


Honestly, I bought this just before leaving for the convention not knowing how useful it would be but I seriously don't think I could have gotten through the convention without it as it was an intense, non-stop event for which I could not have lugged all of my gear over a three-day period. Excellent product!

[Zipper] I kinda just love the clamp and the arm. Build quality is fantastic and I have a very heavy mic on it and it does not budge. Moves like butter and whisper quite. I never release what a pain it was to set my mic up , remove it etc. this thing is east swings out of way for clearing desk space and I find myself doing far more with it now

[3.6 lb] Like the steel spring A clamps I bought these are tough, not like the last pair I bought. These appear strongly stitched, and are double zipped, so if you put sand straight in the bags, the chance of them leaking is lowered. I saw someone put the sand in ziplock-type bags before putting them in the sandbags, which I thought was a great idea. One of my old (not Neewer) bags has come apart and wasn't double-zipped and is a cup of sand waiting to spill, hence the purchase. I kinda wish I had bought these to start with!

[3.6 lb] From the images I was expecting some sort of plastic design for the main black part but it's made of a really heavy solid metal. The clamp is very wide (thick desks accomedated) and has padding to minimize any damage to the surface. Went with this over the other mounting option as it can be easily taken off and moved around whereas the other is a more permanent solution.

[Zipper] If you're a road warrior Portabrace's build quality is excellent. Has an interior bag with velcro so there's no sand spilling out.

[Saddle Bag] These are perfect - I use corn-hole bags (from the game) as weights and my big soft boxes no longer blow over in the breeze when I shoot outdoor red carpet events.

[6] Heavy duty clamp mount immediately transformed the old-school, student recording room into what looks and feels like a real recording studio! Student performances were instantly improved with the use of the clamp/arm combo. Installation couldn't have been easier!

[Saddle Bag] Yes you pay more for PortaBrace but the quality is undeniable. I choose to use tiny aquarium pebbles instead of sand. Don't have to worry about sand getting anywhere near my photo gear. Most Pet stores of Aquarium stores sell the in 5 and 25lb bags
