Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. what is the speaker output OHMS required?

A: The MM3000 will support speakers rated from 4 to 16 ohms.

Q: 2. Is this unit rack mountable?

A: Yes the Technical Pro MM3000 is rack mountable. You probably have to remove the handles and mount them through the holes left after you remove the handles.

Q: 3. what is the speaker output OHMS required for each channel ?

A: This mixer/amp can handle speakers between 4 and 16 OHMS.

Q: 4. dose it have a remote control?

A: The MM3000 does not have a remote available.

Q: 5. I am wondering if I could connect wireless Microphone to this amplifier? If so, is there any instructions on how to do that? Thank you!

A: The Technical Pro MM2000 does not have a receiver built into it for direct compatibility with a wireless mic transmitter. This means that you would need to use an external wireless mic system, where the receiver is connected to one or both of your mic inputs on the Technical Pro MM2000, like the VocoPro Digital-32 for example (BH #VODIGITAL32U).

Q: 6. How I can buy it

A: Add it to our on-line cart system or call us to order via telephone: 800.606.6969 / 212.444.6615

Q: 7. I had this amp tested and I found that it don't do 2000 watts?

A: 2000 watts peak power is the specification provided by the manufacturer. This peak rating only indicates the unit can handle a short burst at this wattage. This is not the average or RMS output of the unit which is a more real world indication of the capabilities of this amp. These specs are not available from the manufacturer.

Q: 8. Does the unit come with any microphones?

A: No microphone included with the MM2000.

Q: 9. what size(watts) speakers can i use at 8 ohms ?

A: Passive PA speakers rated at 100 - 300 watts at 8 ohms

Q: 10. how does the loop fuction in and output work?

A: The loop in and out is used to integrate an external signal processor such as an equalizer with the MM2000. The output of the external device is plugged into the loop in and the loop out is plugged into the input of the external device; thus creating a loop.

[6.975 lb] Works as advertised, very pleased. I tried it with my Electro-Voice 635A handheld mic, which does not have power or audio adjustment settings, so it's levels are often too low. This Polsen inline XLR preamp boosted my volume from the mic and did not cause any noise or distortion from what I can tell. If you look at the pictures I uploaded, you can see the difference in volume with and without this preamp. As you can see it was pretty significant. This will be handy when I need to boost the volume without raising the gain internally in the camera. [I have received this product in exchange for my honest review]

[Metal] I'm just...WOW!!! The gain this device provides is more than you'll ever need on a dynamic mic.

I'm using a Sennheizer MD-42 dynamic as the testing mic, I don't use it often because it needs a lot of gain. It works well on high end recorders, but for using it on a camera, the mic is just ok...It never satisfied me until I tried the XP-30D. This preamp allows much less gain on the recorder or your camera. And it's a LOT of GAIN!! Maybe too much in some cases, for example, on a Tascam DR-100 MKII recorder.

I used a Tascam DR-100 Mark III recorder for this experiment.

Now, I have to set the gain so Low, resulting in a super clean and hiss free audio, like most decent Condenser mics do.

After plugging in the XP-30D, adjusting the gain to minimum wasn't enough. Additionally, on the DR100 MKIII recorder, I had to turn on the PAD filter on my recorder, then adjust the gain, WAY low!

Further next, I also tested it on a Canon C100Mark II. These cameras have terrible preamps, and adding the MD-42 mic makes things even worse.

I plugged the XP-30D in, turned on phantom power on the C100 MKII, and the gain was awesome!

Please make sure you see the pictures I included in this review. It shows everything you want to see.

If you're looking for a powerful preamp, look no further. It's insanely powerful.

The only thing I didn't like is, when plugging the mic, the XLR "input" PLUG from the XP-30D makes the mic connection a little lose... I tried is also with another 3 mics. Same.

However, the slightly loose connection I will NOT make noises or anything that would ruin your presentation or recording even if you touch the plug. It's just a little loose and I thought it is worth mentioning...

Before I plugged it in for the first time I used it, I expected a snug fit like all XLRs do. Other than that, this thing REALLY does the job!!

[Gray] I had to crank the mic gain all the way up, now I don't! $30 well spent.

[Metal] For me I found this Preamp far to weak to be at the end of the chain,
Most best right after mic or if you need a little mic boast else were, if you go 1/3 up in gain it will clip depends on vocal artist style, but all in all, a great little mic that took some pressure of the second preamp which is what I brought it for to begin with, an for that it gets a FIVE STAR!!!

[15 VA] I picked up one of these as a quick purchase to give some extra boost to my Shure SM7b. I do have another brans inline preamp that I also really like, honestly the price on this was low enough for me to take the risk.

I am certainly impressed with the Polsen. It does what it says, and it does it well. For the price, it's a no-brainer if you're looking to add some oomph to your dynamic, or ribbon mics with little to no added noise! I'll be ordering more for my studio. Recommended.

[6.975 lb] The Black Magic Web Presenter box has a XLR input and it works great.

If you have a Dynamic Mike you have 60db of gain on the XLR input.

The above Rolls Preamp provides two great upgrades for the Black Magic Web Presenter XLR Microphone input.

1. The MP13 easily provides 50db of clean, preamp gain.
2. The MP13 provides Phantom Power for Capacitive Microphones
3. It's a Green LED for Power and a Red LED for audio Clipping

[15 VA] Black Lion has done it again by making a great little preamp. I've owned Black Lion's more expensive 4-channel B173 preamp before, but I like this Auteur MKIII even more than that one because it's simpler to use and sounds just as great. Its black color and wonderful design is great to look at, too -- very beautiful. I'm very happy with this purchase.
