[64] It is a bare bones, moved over a 6TB purple, unit formatted and initialized easily.  Had to get up and running quickly, First Hik product so had to install iVMS4200, and HikConnect on devices, at least 3 different username/password sets and not too clear on those descriptors. Used 3 IP POE hik cams, all plug and play. POE worked well.  Local monitor view and setup was excellent, wish there was better interface than a wired mouse, but at least I didnt have to repeat steps with that.  Did several reset, shutdown, and live disconnect and reconnection tests, unit rebooted fine. Good value for a DIY bundle.  Went with B&H to keep HIK usa distributor channel integrity for best support.

[64] Got this unit after returning the NXI Acusense model, which was a disappointment.

Configuration was a breeze, but it must be done locally. That is, hook up the monitor and USB mouse directly. After that you can disconnect the monitor and the mouse and manage the unit headless by iVMS-4200 software installed on a PC or Mac on the local network. Or remotely, but to do that, the configuration is a bit more complex.

I use it with a mix of genuine US Hikvision cameras and cheap ONVIF-compatible cameras. I do not use the cloud, because I configured remote access.

Going from QNAP NAS to the Hikvision NVR was like a night and day experience. This is a rock solid NVR. Feature-rich, configurable, full time recording without skipping a beat, remote access and playback though the Hik Connect mobile app are just a few things to mention. The Hik Connect mobile app is also very good and easy to use, unlike most other Chinese-made apps that are buggy, filled with spelling errors in the UI. And YES, unlike the NXI Acusense model, the firmware in this model is regularly updated and email notifications work properly.

The unit is well built but it is loud. Unless you are are hearing impaired you will not be able to keep it in a living room, bedroom, or media room. It works for me because I keep it in a utility room.

All in all, I highly recommend this model for home or business use.

[8x Internal] Remote set up need a little tech knowledge especially if you are doing a manual set up the nvr is fast with upload and picture quality is excellent with good cameras one good feature is a nvr that can work with google chrome and edge without issues

[23.22 lb] Hikvision NVR 2TB is excellent. Very easy and fast to setup. Captures shape videos and pictures. Downloaded Hikvision app for laptop and tablet for very easy Liveview and Playback.

[Yes] I installed it a couple of days ago. It was easy to setup and for the most part everything works the same as other Hikvision NVRs. The description says that is supports 16TB drives. I took a chance and got 22TB WD purple drives. They were detected as 20TB which indicates that 20 may be the limit, at least with the current firmware. So far I installed 8 drives into a RAID 5 array.

[8x Internal] I've accumulated different cameras from different manufacturers for years assuming they would be easy to install on IP NVRs and for the most part, they were until I got some newer 4K cameras and then it became a chore. Three different NVR's later I find one that works with all my cameras. The only real hassle, if I can call it that, was to have to go to the router as I hooked up each camera to see what address it was set to. Once I got it to recognize the cameras, the included software made it easy to get them all working. I have a simple 5 camera, 24hr recorded, home setup without all the motion detection or other options set, so it was pretty easy to get up and running. It works.

[Analytics] Best NVR I've ever used, hands down... 32 IP cameras plus channels for audio, access control, alarm devices, and Point of Sale... runs firmware 5 too!

NO BUILT-IN POE - all of my cameras are connected to POE switches directly and if you don't need it, save money and power with this model.

I used Samsung EVO 870 SSD SATA 3 drives and this thing is so smooth! Yeah I know SSD won't last as long as purple disks but they will last a good few years and I'm OK with that.

Firmware 5 offers SO much, big upgrade from v4. There is a learning curve but the analytics are so very worth it. Supports many different brands, protocols, and functions... I really can't list everything but I can say its awesome that my non-Hikvision cameras were automatically discovered alongside the real Hikvision ones.

Still not sure? Neither was I because my older unit running version 4 was basically getting the job done but I wanted more channels and WOW I got a lot of bang for my buck with this upgrade!
