  • Physical modeling simulation of real analog hardware, achieved by the adoption of the Advanced Component Simulation (ACS) approach—oscillators, filters, envelopes, and more are built preserving their original architecture, featuring all the micro-instabilities and imperfections of the analog technology
  • Full 64-bit processing accuracy for every single aspect of the simulation
  • An all-in-one complete setup: monophonic analog bass-line synthesizer + embedded analog sequencer + analog and digital insert/master effects

  • An aliasing-free analog modeled oscillator proving the same capacitor charging/discharging responses as found in the original analog circuits, featuring sawtooth and square waveforms with blending (morphing) control
  • A separate control for the oscillator waveshaping (from naive to analog supersaw / pulse width modulation)
  • A legendary 4-pole resonant, analog low-pass diode ladder filter (modeled by the adoption of the topology-preserving transform / zero-delay feedback approach) proving all the original quirks, nonlinearities, frequency responses (also at extreme modulation scenarios), analog clipping
  • Two analog envelope generators (MEG/VEG) proving the same capacitor charging/discharging responses as found on the original analog circuits
  • Analog component age selector. Choose the virtual age of the components used in ZeroBox, and as a consequence, its resulting overall instability
  • An extended operative range (compared to the original) for several knobs and internal components
  • Built-in circuit-bends as found in different hardware clones and experimental ones never seen before (while 100% preserving all the original functions)
  • An exclusive low-frequency-oscillator (LFO) with frequency (from 0.05 Hz up to 20 Hz) and destination amount controls, affecting the oscillator waveform blending, waveshaping and filter cutoff frequency
  • Adjustable high-pass filter cutoff frequency
  • Adjustable filter envelope (MEG) minimum decay time
  • Adjustable slide time control
  • A VCA envelope (VEG) smoother control
  • Polarity inverter control, useful to achieve different sound flavors when using an asymmetric (biased) distortion unit

Three ways of control for studio and/or live scenarios:

  • Sequencer Off: Individual notes are MIDI triggered directly by the DAW
  • Sequencer (Pitched): The internal sequencer (8 scenes/patterns per preset) is MIDI triggered and tuned
  • Sequencer (KeyTrig): Each of the 8 sequencer scenes / patterns per preset are assigned to different MIDI keys

A multimode (PTC/KTG) embedded digitally controlled clock generator and sequencer, featuring the same internal pulse timing and behavior of the original one, with:

  • Mode selector (normal/triplet)
  • Beat pulse-divider selector
  • Tempo external controls
  • Swing amount control
  • Step gate control
  • Step pitch control
  • Step octave selector

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can the built-in preamp be completely bypassed so that the output of the cartridge goes directly to the output terminals on the back of the turntable?

A: Yes, the built-in preamp on the AT-LP5X can be bypassed when the preamp selector switch is set to Phono. When Line output is selected the internal preamp is active. The Phono setting is used when you are connecting to an amp with a dedicated phono input which will have its own preamp built-in or if you want to use a separate external preamp. The Line output setting is used when connecting the turntable to an amp that does not have a dedicated phono preamp so the internal preamp on the AT-LP5X will be engaged.

Q: 2. I want to convert the SDI 1080i signal from my switcher to a 1080p signal to my live streaming server for YouTube. Will this unit do that?

A: I do technical support for Symbiosis, Decimator's master distributor in the US. The Decimator 2 is definitely capable of doing what you are describing if your streaming server has HDMI input. If you bring the 1080i signal in on the SDI input you can configure the Decimator 2 to output 1080p over HDMI.

Q: 3. I have a video switcher with Program out via SDI, I am told there is embedded audio running out with the SDI video signal. Will this unit work for my application? I want my SDI PRGM output from my switcher to feed into a standard LCD TV monitor via HDMI with video and sound. I want to set up client monitors in the Greenroom down the hall .. All my SDI feed does for my consumer HDMI TV is video only...Thanks

A: Hi James, This is Jules from Symbiosis, Decimator's Master Distributor for your territory. The Decimator 2 will all you to pass both video and embedded audio from the SDI input to the HDMI output for monitoring on your LCD TV. Just in case you need it, there is also a pair of analog line level outputs for driving an amplifier or set of active speakers as well. I hope this helps. Jules

Q: 4. I need to convert PAL signal to NTSC signal so I can send it into my video switcher then out to my projector. I am using this in the US, but my client is sending me a Broadcast in PAL. for the audience to view. can this unit do this?

[AU, VST2, VST3] The minilogue is a full fledged 4 voice polyphonic analog synth with 1 LFO. You can save patches (200) and the oscilloscope is helpful for patch building. When recalling patches, there are several options for the knobs too-- the default is to 'jump' to the value that the knob is turned to, but there is also a 'catch' option that won't change the parameter until you move the knob to where it was in the saved patch-- this is very helpful for live performance to ensure smooth parameter transitions! I have been using in both studio and live setting. Overall a surprisingly well made and feature-full analog synth... hard to believe korg packed everything in at such a low pricepoint for analog polys!

[Synthesizer] Been waiting for so long to get my hands on one of these! Ever since I opened the box I've been in love. For the price point you can't beat it. I've been using the Korg R3 for about 5 years and a Roland SH-32 for about a year, this is a perfect addition to my setup! If you're in the market for an analog synth.. BUY THIS ONE!

[Yes] The Korg Minilogue is a SUPER fun & intuitive analog synth for everyone from beginners to seasoned synthesits. I've been programming synths for 20 years and this was just as fun as the first synth I ever used. Its analog sound is wonderful and thick. Almost everything has a knob or switch for control and, for the patches I was making, I never went into the menus for further editing beyond naming patches and setting sequencer settings. The shape control of the oscillators gives a lot of variation to your standard waveforms and the sync/ring-mod, cross modulation, & pitch envelope of oscillator two really open up the sonic possibilities. I very much enjoy the dedicated switch for velocity modulation of the filter cutoff and I like that there are only two modulation depths beyond none. My favorite feature of the Minilogue is the envelope modulation of either the rate or the intensity of the LFO. This really gives a sense of motion to what is already a sense of motion from the LFO. My only complaint is that the LFO doesn't go fast enough for analog-FM style tones. It's not nearly as fast as the LFO on the Monologue but that's more of an observation that a full drawback. I really enjoyed the different voice modes of this synth, really finding mono, which introduces a variable level sub, and chord, which creates various fixed chords, to be the most useful beyond the standard poly mode. This is by far the best poly synth I have ever found for someone who is interested in learning analog synthesis. The knobs and switches along with the actual layout of them makes programming make sense and a joy to use. The Minilogue does have mini-keys but the mini keys Korg has been using for their new synths are really great. Much better than the microKORG. With the Minilogue, Korg really show us that there will always be room for one more analog synth.

[Standard] My expectations were met. My delivery was on time. Great for any age. I highly recommend as a gift. The price was very good. I have played with it everyday. It makes me want to write music with it. I love plugging it up into headphones or speaker system. Built in speaker is not best quality. The bass is insane. I also love playing along with songs. Thank you for your service!

[AU, VST2, VST3] I guess Hive is and will mostly be used in Trance music productions, but its absolutely stellar sound quality would be a waste if not used in most of any other genres of electronic or electronic-acoustic music productions as well. I highly recommend it!

[Yes] By now you've likely watched all the video demos and read all the articles so I am not going to write about the technical side of this synth. I will simply say it's well built (in China) and it's super well laid out and sounds like the Oberheim that it is. My only negative is that it is 5 voices instead of 6. Once you adapt your technique it's not such a big deal..the sound quality makes it worth it. You might ask why I didn't pursue the Berhinger.. I want to support Tom Oberheim
