The silver, 112mm Kase KW Revolution Magnetic CPL Filter 112mm Silver Ringis part of Kase's color-coded KW Revolution filter system, based on the earlier Wolverine series and fully compatible with Wolverine filters. The KW Revolution system features CPL and different grades of ND filters, all with color-coded filter frames for easy identification and swapping. The CPLs, including this 112mm circular polarizer, are color-coded silver.

This circular polarizing filter helps reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflections. This results in a noticeable reduction of glare and reflections from nonmetallic surfaces and increased saturation of skies and foliage.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use a regular step-up ring to attach this to a 77mm lens?

A: Yes, you can use a standard step up ring from 77 to 82, then attach the adapter ring that comes with the Kase KW Revolution Professional ND Kit (82mm) and then you will be able to attach the magnetic filters.

Q: 2. What size adapter rings come in this kit?

A: The Kase KW Revolution Professional ND Kit (82mm) comes with an 82mm magnetic adapter ring.

Q: 3. Can Lee 100 grad filters be used with this item?

A: No, the LEE Filters LEE100 Filter Holder can only accommodate lenses up to 82mm filter thread.

Q: 4. Will the Kase Revolution 82mm filters cause any vignetting on the Nikon Z 14-30 1.8 S lens?

A: The Nikon NIKKOR Z 14-30mm f/4 S Lens (B&H # NIZ14304) has a 82mm filter size and should work with the Kase KW Revolution Professional ND Kit (82mm), B&H # KA82KWRPNDK, without any vignette.

Q: 5. Doe this set come with a case?

A: The Kase KW Revolution Professional ND Kit (82mm) comes with a filter case.

Q: 6. I can’t find extra standard adapters for the revolution 77mm kit, or do you buy the wolverine adapter for your extra lenses?

A: To use the Kase KW Revolution Professional ND Kit (77mm) on additional lenses with 77mm threads, get the Kase Wolverine Magnetic Filter Adapter Ring (77mm), BH #KAMAR77MM.

Q: 7. If my largest lens requires an82mm filter, can I purchase this kit and a set of step up rings to cover filter use on all others?

A: Yes, you can use step rings to place these filters on the smaller diameter lenses, but keep in mind that it should be magnetic Kase Step rings like this https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1512731-REG/kase_kw_msp_7782_magnetic_adapter_ring_step.html of appropriate size. We also recommend to have these wrenches when you work with filters and specifically step rings. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1407949-REG/sensei_62_72mm_rubberized_filter_wrench.html

Q: 8. Is there an IQ difference between the Wolverine and Revolution filter lines?

A: The actually filters are about the same between the Wolverine and Revolution filter system. The Revolution is an updated version more about the holder and ease of use.

Q: 9. Can you use the lens hood when these filters are attached?

A: The filters and rings available with Kase KW Revolution Mega Set do not protrude outside the 72mm diameter therefore the dedicated lens hood could be attached on the lens bayonet.

Q: 10. what are the differences between the KASE Revolution and Wolverine filter lines?

A: Here are 3 main improvements in Revolution: 1. The front Ring is threaded so you can place a conventional pinch lens cap on it, you cannot with Wolverine, indeed you can screw a conventional filter on top of it if you so desire. 2. The Revolution filters are color coded to make them easy to find in your camera bag. 3. Revolution has the optional inlaid adapter, which screws down inside the lens's filter ring instead of staying on top. Wolverine won't work with the inlaid adapter. Every Revolution set comes with the 2 adapters, conventional & inlaid. Most Revolution individual filters just have a conventional adapter, except for R-MCUV which has both.

[0.335 lb] Of the many manufacturers of magnetic filters, only Kase (as far as I know) offers the inlaid rings, which nest inside the lens' filter threads, reducing the risk of vignetting when you stack filters. The only disadvantage is you need to use the provided tool to hold the ring for installation and removal.

I bought this kit for 67mm, 72mm, and 77mm for a second benefit, to make it even easier to use my 82mm mag. filters with my smaller-diameter lenses. Installing the inlaid adapter lets me use the regular lens cap and hood until I need one of the filters. When I do, I can quickly attach the magnetic adapter (*different* from the regular screw-in adapters) to the inlaid adapter, then add filters.

However, the lens caps for my Sony lenses no longer have enough filter thread to grasp. I bought separate magnetic caps for them (but see my review of those...). For my Sigma lenses, the regular lens caps still work fine.

[0.335 lb] I really like this filter system. My use case is landscape photography, especially with water. I makes it extremely easy to add and stack ND filters to taste for a scene. I can have one set of filters and then magnetic rings and magnetic adapters to use on multiple lenses. I am happy with the purchase.

One negative is the case that comes with it. It has plenty of slots (extras to add more filters), however the closure is not very secure. The closure is magnetic but takes some fiddling to line up, and I do not feel confident in it. Not a show stopper, but certainly something that could be improved on.

[112 mm] First time using the Kase magnetic filter system. Used this ND on a trip, and being able to instantly add/remove it from my lens was fantastic. Filter itself worked well without a noticeable color cast. Plan on adding other ND strengths to my kit.

[Aluminum] It works perfectly with the Revolution filter system. It's easy to install, fits closer to the lens, and helps prevent vignetting on ultra-wide angle lenses.

[Aluminum] I bought this to go with the 900MM Tokina Mirror lens- and it did the job nicely. My plan to shoot the eclipse was eclipsed (see what I did there) by mother nature opting to lay a heavy dose of cloud cover above us in Hondo Texas, so my main goal was not achieved. But I will be using it on other solar situations, so I am not concerned.

[Glass] If you’re going to switch to magnetic filters, it’s worth having an adapter on every lens so you can swap filters quickly with your whole kit. This version is the most slim combo as it screws down inside the lens threads instead of sitting on top like an extra filter. I’ve threaded mine into existing screw in UV filters I keep on at all times for protection. Works great.

[Glass] I tried one other magnetic filter brand, but it paled in comparison to this set. I did a lot of research before ordering these, and even though I saw a few complaints, they just didn't make sense to me. I'm very happy with these, and the magnets are plenty strong enough, and yet pop on and off with ease. It was worth getting the largest set since it includes all I needed. The workmanship is excellent, and the glass doesn't have any colorcast whatsoever.

[Aluminum] The Kase Magnetic filter kit is well made, easy to use on location, and fast for filter changes.
I have used screw on filters for years and this is a real improvement. I highly recommend this product.
