Q: 1. I'm torn between getting Adox MCC 112 and the Ilford multigrade FB, semi-matte. Which would you suggest?

A: Hi Amanda. I've used both the Adox and Ilford matt. Paper's always a personal matter. But I find I can get a broader range of tones from the Ilford. Also I love the color of the Ilford matt blacks & whites. Warm but deep. I find the Adox to be equally sharp, but a different shade of warm...tending a little more toward pinkish. Not a bad look, but I prefer the ilford. I develop in Tetenal Eukobrom and if I want to cool down the black tones, I add about 5ml of Moersch Finisher Blue to a 1000ml solution of Eukobrom. Hope this helps. They're both good papers, but I prefer the feel and tonal range of the Ilford.

Q: 2. Is this paper available graded?

A: Unfortunately, this paper is not available graded.

Q: 3. Weight

A: This paper would be 255 gsm

Q: 4. how much does the box weight? txs

A: I think around 6 or 7 lb, including the box.

Q: 5. is this paper currently in stock?

A: This Ilford Multigrade FB Warmtone Fiber Base Paper is not currently in stock, no. It is a special order item, which would be non-cancelable and non-refundable. After placing the order, it would take an estimated 2-4 weeks for the paper to arrive and B&H and then ship out to you.

Q: 6. If processed ta archival standards, is this paper as archival as Ilford's traditional baryta fiber based papers?

A: Yes this paper would be archival when processed and stored properly.

Q: 7. I have 3/4 of an 8x10 box left that I purchased 5 years ago an d has been stored at room temp. Do you think it's still good? I

A: Ilford Multigrade Art 300 Paper (8 x 10", 50 Sheets) might still be okay. But it can loose sensitively and can fog over time. The best is to try it and see the results.

Q: 8. Is this a plastic or cotton fiber base?

A: This is Base Type Fiber Base / Double Weight

Q: 9. how is the box sealed?

A: It is stored and transported in a large flat box and us taped all four sides. Inside the box the paper is placed inside a light tight black plastic bag that is over sized and folded at the top.

Q: 10. what's the difference between semi-matt and pearl finishes?

A: Semi Matt is closer to a matt finish than it is to glossy (my observation/opinion). I have never seen pearl in a fiber base paper, only in RC, and that has a more radiant or iridescent look.

[Neutral] I have been doing chemograms and regular prints with this paper and all the results are beautiful. It has a great range of grey tones and very solid blacks. I will be purchasing this again as a go to darkroom paper. :)

[50x Sheet Paper] Great for landscapes and still life, could be a bit more contrasty, but maybe it's me.

[255 gsm] Would love to order this again, but each time I do someone in the shipping dept doesn’t know how to put a box around this box. The last time they shipped me one without a box around it. Six feet totally unusable! B/H policy? “We’ll take $50 off your order.”
