Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this quickset plate fit the Arca Swiss Z1 ball head 801103?

A: Yes. But please keep in mind that the following adapts to smaller QR plates such as the following plates mentioned. 802255, 802260, 802262 and 802265.

Q: 2. Can someone clarify the two different answers below - can the dovetails be rotated on each baseplate, to switch whether the Classic or the monoballFix dovetail is the one in line with the lens axis? When I look at the additional baseplate that can be purchased separately, it seems to have the dovetails mounted in the other direction, suggesting they can be changed...

A: Hello Jonathan, Yes I confirm the dovetails can be rotated on each base plate to switch whether the Classic or monoballFix. When the plate is mounted with the narrow width parallel to the optical axis, then you can mount it on monoballFix® quik-release. When the plate is mounted with the larger width parallel to the optical axis then you can mount it on an Classic quick-release. This system is called "Dual Base". Now this L-Bracket has not been designed to change or replace the rotable plates with others monoballFix® plate. However if you absolutely need to do it, that is possible (everything is possible at ARCA SWISS :-)) but I would like to alert you on 2 points which are obvious for us but may not be clear for all the people. 1- If you replace the rotable plates/dovetail by monoballFix® plate, the you will have to choose only the ones with the grooves on their top so they will perfectely fit with the L-Bracket bases (horizontal and vertical). The compatible references are 802284, 802283, 802280, 802281, 802282 that you can find on B&H website. 2- Then you will not be able to use the screws neither the one of your L-Bracket dovetail plate (it may be too long depending on your camera base mouth depth) nor the one delivered with the additional plate (it may be too short). In that case we can provide a custom solution with specific screws but it that case we need to make a prior analysis and eventually a special order with B&H. Hope it answer your question and if you need more support, please just ask. Jean-Pierre from ARCA-SWISS

Q: 3. Does this fit the Hasselblad X2D?

A: Yes, the Arca-Swiss L-Bracket MonoballFix Universal is compatible with the Hasselblad X2D.

Q: 4. Are the plates on this L-bracket compatible with Arca-Swiss Slidefix ? I am using an Arca-Swiss item 801213 (Monoball P0 Panning with slidefix QS)

A: Yes the arca-swiss plates would be compatible across all arca-swiss brackets or panning systems.

Q: 5. Hi,I already own an Arca swiss Monoball p0 and I have adapted a different quick release system to it. I'm thinking about switching back to the arca swiss plate system. I bought some L-brackets from Sunwayfoto to fit my Sony A7R3 cameras (which are compatible with Arca-Swiss stardard). Is the MonoballFix on the Monoball p0, able to mounts these L-bracket? Or is it a smaller mount on the MonoballFix ?Also, can the tension be ajusted other than the release-lever?Lastly, are the stop-pins fixed or able to be actuated by spring pressure?

A: Its a smaller/narrower mount and incomprehensible with the standard Arca-Swiss system

Q: 6. Will this work on a Nikon D800?

A: Yes this will work for the D800. Just remove the 3/8ths thread.

Q: 7. What's the minimum distance between bolt centers possible with this plate?

A: The minimum distance between bolt centers is about 8mm.

Q: 8. Would this device hold my camera just as securely as the Fliplock or Classic with the screw devices?

A: This device can hold your camera just as securely as the Fliplock or Classic version of the clamp as long as you are using the SlideFix type plates for it.

Q: 9. Are the safety pin removable?

A: The pins are not removable by any normal means.

Q: 10. Will it fit Peak Design PROplate?https://a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1096749-REG/peak_design_pl_pp_1_proplate_a_for_manfrotto.html target= _blank www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1096749-REG/peak_design_pl_pp_1_proplate_a_for_manfrotto.html/a

[66 lb / 30 kg] Light weight, well made and works well. It is pricey.

[Bull's Eye] Because the lens is set a little to the left of center (as seen from the back) this plate still allows the battery/SD card compartment to open fully without having to detach the QR plate. Sweet!
Love the Arca-swiss quick release system!

[22.9 oz / 650 g] Without the Arca-Swiss Monoball Fix Quickset Device I could not have attached an Arca-Swiss Monoball X-Table System to either of my tripods. The removable plates located on the camera attachment portions of my tripods (a Manfrotto head on a Bogen tripod or similar attachment plate of a MeFOTO tripod system) screw into the inferior surface of the Quickset Device thus allowing its attachment to the tripod. The lower rail of the Arca-Swiss Monoball X-Table System then slides into the superior surface of the Quickset Device resulting in attachment of the X-Table system to the tripod. It is important to be aware that the inferior rail of the X-Table system has no accommodation for a screw attachment to a tripod and furthermore is too narrow and has an incomparable configuration for directly attaching to either of my tripod heads. Thereafter one must use an Arca-Swiss Cameraplate 75 for MonoballFix in order to attach a camera to the upper portion of the X-Table system by use of what appears to be a second Arca-Swiss Monoball Fix Quickset Device which is included with the Arca-Swiss Monoball X-Table System and attached to its superior surface.

[66 lb / 30 kg] I purchased an Arca-Swiss d4 with the MonoballFix quick release system, and while I love the tripod head, it did not come with a plate. I purchased this and it works very well with the head.

I was a bit hesitant on the MonoballFix system, and I ultimately ended up going down a RRS plate/clamp style route, but I think it's pretty nice for what you're paying for. If I wasn't invested in RRS clamps and brackets, I would have no quams using this kind of plate as it's small, lightweight, and solid.

Expensive. But the good stuff usually is.

[22.9 oz / 650 g] I must admit, I tried to get other plates for my P0, which has the slidefix QS quick release, to save some money. The cost savings resulted in plates that didn't properly fit and wasted time. These however, do the job they're intended for. Save the headache and just get them for your P0 with the quick release.

[22.9 oz / 650 g] I have been a professional photographer since 1987, using 4x5 for many many years, and now 8x10 cameras. For over 20 years I used Gitzo carbon fiber legs and head, and that worked great for many years, until I decided to shop for something lighter. I knew Arca Swiss made top of the line equipment, which also carried a hefty price tag. Finally, after decades of photographing I decided to go to the highest level and buy this tripod head. AMAZING is all I can say. We spend so much money all all aspects of photography, why not let this be one of hoso

[1.815 lb] This is my first Arca Monoball Fix product. I am a long time Arca user, having owned two Cubes, a variety of P heads, and Core Levelers. I also have a decided preference for lever clamps versus screw knob versions. In every case, I paid PCW to replace the Arca lever release clamp with an RRS of appropriate size. I never liked the 17-step Arca lever release (exaggeration I know), especially when wearing gloves. And from my point of view, the Acratech quick release lever is even better than the RRS. That thing is a work of art. But since acquiring my Field Metric C view camera, I needed to get a clamp suitable for the monorail. Enter the Monorail Fix Quickset Device. What an elegant, simple, streamlined device. All it does is work. Everything necessary to secure your device, with nothing you don't need. Safe, reliable, and more than robust enough for my field cameras and my Phase. If there is a downside, it's that I now want to standardize on it for all my gear.
