[Yes] Well constructed, looks as though it will hold up for years to come.

[Silver] After waiting years, I finally made the purchase. This is one huge lightbank, which provides an amazing quality of light that many others try to imitate but just never achieve. The quality of the materials are top, up to Chimera's standards. I have 3 other Chimera softboxes and have never regretted making the purchases. They last long, are built strong here in the USA and not off in some foreign land with boosted mark-up prices and shoddy materials. The lightbank is easy to transport as it comes in 2 bags, one for the 5 foot and the other for the 7 foot extension. Easy set-up and take down. Again the quality of light is it's strong point. You cannot go wrong. Make sure to get a c+ stand, as the size and weight with flash will require a very solid base. People are amazed at the sheer size, I'm amazed at everything else about it! Heard stuff about the elinchrom, but I feel there are great products made here in North America!

[Yes] Absolutely wonderful! I would have been disappointed if I hadn't gotten the 5' WITH the 7' extension kit. However, I am happy I did, because with the 7' attached it is simply massive and yields very even lighting. The support kit is also nice and sturdy! I am using this with Alien Bees lights and some Arri video lights.

[Fabric] Bought it for interviews and drama recrees and it has been an excellent source of light. Worth every penny. Very easy to set up. The build quality is outstanding.

[Silver] Easy to assemble. Good design and high quality. It is unique in its ability to be changed from a 5' octabank to a 7'. Very nice light quality. It is relatively light but still quite a load on the strobe.

[Silver] I have used this light bank on location shot for 2 weddings. While you'll have to plan your shots carefully, it is doable. The light is great although the light fall off towards the edges is slightly more than specified. I have an assistant, so I plan the shots with the light bank in the middle of the photo shoot, because of the hurry on the wedding day we have to move on very quickly. As advised I use a Avenger grip head, as it is not advisable to mount it directly onto you flash. I will take about 10-15 minutes to set up and about 10 to wrap it all up.

[9.54 lb] This is truly a wonderful product. The light is soft and easy to work with. You've got two different sizes which work well for 3/4 shots and the larger size works very well for full length shots. An in studio piece of equipment that you must have!

[Silver] The unit creates a wonderful 3-5k halo rim/feather back-light. Also dubs as a wonderful pool/poker table light and for my most used feature - a miraculous low lamp (horror or extreme drama) ground lit masking of subject (front or behind). Everyone needs to have this one in their arsenal.

[Fabric] I’ve owned the S60 version of this bag for 6 years, and I expect this new product to be as tough and long-lasting as the other. I noticed the inclusion of an inner baffle, which makes sense since the Vortex has more punch than the S60, so the spread on the front diffusion is spread evenly. I get it, but I prefer the greater output of the Vortex without the baffle. It’s still quite soft.

[Silver] While it's a little tricky to assemble (and just a little cumbersome), once this thing's together, the quality of light it puts out is just lovely... I've been using with a triolet for the Arri Alexa.
