Q: 2. Highlights says 18mm info says 12mm. Which is it?

A: The 7artisans Photoelectric 12mm f/2.8 Mark II Lens for Sony E would have the focal length equivalent of an 18mm lens used on a full frame camera.

Q: 3. Whats the difference between the MK II lens and the normal 12MM? Does it use ED glass like the Cine Version?

A: According to the manufacturer, the five (5) main differences between the original 7artisans Photoelectric 12mm f/2.8 Lens and the new 7artisans Photoelectric 12mm f/2.8 Mark II Lens for Micro Four Thirds are the following: (1) the appearance, optical design, and structure of the lenses are different; (2) the minimum focus distance of the original lens is 0.2 meters (7.87 inches), whereas the minimum focus distance for the Mark II lens is closer at 0.15 meters (5.9 inches); (3) the new Mark II lens adds options for the Nikon Z and Canon EOS R lens mounts; (4) the original lens did not support the use of filters, whereas the Mark II supports 67mm filters; and finally, (5) the new Mark II lens has improved image quality with increased edge resolution and reduced overall distortion. Q: 4. Would this lens work with my Rebel T2i?

A: No, it's not an EF mount, its micro four thirds. It may work on Canon cameras with a micro four thirds to EF mount adapter.

Q: 5. Does this have auto or manual diaphragm? Because it is declicked, I suspect diaphragm control in manual Rather primitive.

A: The diaphragm on the 7artisans Photoelectric 60mm f/2.8 Macro Lens for Sony E is manual.

Q: 6. Has anyone used this for scanning photo negatives?

A: We cannot test the lens for digitizing film but using an actual film scanner such as the Epson V600 would be much higher quality than using your camera. Please take a look at the following link: https://bhpho.to/3dniCnW The reasons why a scanner would be better than a digital camera are: A scanner has a much higher resolution. A scanner has dust and scratch removal software. A scanner can also scan negatives and reverse the colors back to a positive. A digital camera only shoots one color per pixel and guesses the 2 missing colors. In other words, one pixel is shot as red and the camera estimates how much blue and green are in that same pixel. The next pixel is shot as blue and the camera estimates the red and green. A scanner actually scans the image 3 times with a tri-color filter so it is scanning each pixel as red, green and blue as opposed to guessing the missing colors as a digital camera does. Basically a scanner will be more color accurate, better tonal range and it will give you better highlight and shadow details.

Q: 7. Is there significant chromatic aberration at the closest focus distances, and is it sharp corner-to-corner (on aps-c sensor)?

A: The 7artisans Photoelectric 60mm f/2.8 Macro Lens for Sony E is only designed for APS-C sensors. The 7artisans Photoelectric 60mm f/2.8 Macro Lens has a low level of chromatic aberrations which is quite good. It is decently sharp to the edges, though not as sharp as the center. It will be a bit sharper when stopped down.

Q: 8. Will this work with a full frame camera? (Canon R6). Or is there some drawback I'm not aware of?

A: The 7artisans Photoelectric 12mm f/2.8 Mark II Lens for Canon RF is designed only for cameras with an APS-C sized image sensor; When used ona a full-frame camera like the R6, it will cause vignetting (dark shadows in the corners of each image).

Q: 9. Specific to this lens, What does the term "Photoelectric" mean?

A: Photoelectric is a series of lenses 7artisans make. Like Sony's G-Master, Canon's L etc, it's a name to identify the series/class of lenses.

Q: 10. Will this lens work with the Nikon D3300? Didn't see it on the list.

A: Yes, the Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 Series II Lens for Nikon F would be compatible for use on the Nikon D3300 DSLR camera. Do note that the Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 Series II Lens for Nikon F is a fully manual lens, and as such, you would have to focus the lens manually and set your exposure manually using the aperture ring built onto the lens.

[f/2.8] So far I am very impressed with the results I have been getting, They are sharp and crisp. The depth of field is excellent at F5.6 to f11. The build quality of the lens is excellent, perfect fit on the body of my a6000, its quite heavy for its size. The extending hood takes a little getting used to but it does a great job in shielding the lens from both light and damage. Overall Its excellent value for the money.

[67 mm (Front)] I enjoy shooting with this lens on my Fuji xPro 3. It's taken some time to learn how best to manually focus, but it's slowed my photography and I've had fun with it. Optically it's quite sharp in the middle, when you nail focus, especially when stopped down. Basically it shoots and feels like an adapted vintage lens, but it's compact like those lens originally were, not with the large adapters needed to make them work.
I would buy again.

[APS-C] This lens is very very good if you dont want to spend lots on a dedicated macro. I use it for pro use for jewelry for magazines. Even using it in 35 crop mode its 10mp but plenty for magazines.

[f/2.8] I bought it to use in my XPro2, the size and weight are perfect for it, just a little smaller than the Fujinon 23mm f2 All metallic, good finishes. The diaphragm ring has clicks, they are smooth but firm, the focus ring has a comfortable round The few photos I shot show good quality, at large apertures you can see some loss of sharpness in the corners, but it is not exaggerated. Considering its price, it is an excellent alternative in this type of lens

[67 mm (Front)] The opteka 12mm f/2.8 Lens for Fujifilm is a stunningly sharp lens for your money. Built like a tank. The image quality is far better than one would expect for a lens of at this price point. In a word excellent!

[Manual Focus] I've never owned a macro before, I picked this up as part of a package deal on craigslist. I freakin love it! First off, the quality and build of the lens is surprisingly excellent. Second off, if you've been holding off on a macro like me, you should definitely just get this.

[5] I’ve enjoyed using this lens for macro photography but also general photography like some portrait shots. Love the manual controls, they’re real smooth with fairly precise motion. I also had some fun with the warerproof tube tip thing, mainly just because it was available but then I started getting creative with it. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a good m43 macro lens.
