Sharp, compact, and robust, the 7artisans 12mm T2.9 Cine Lens MFT Mountfrom 7artisans 12mm T2.9 Cine Lens MFT Mountworks with standard cine lens accessories, so it will easily fit into your workflow. This ultra-wide version of the lens comes in an MFT mount, and it features focus scales marked in feet and meters. The maximum T2.9 aperture allows you to film a gentle soft bokeh with soft natural-looking out-of-focus highlights, while the T16 minimum aperture helps reduce artifacts that can appear when the aperture opening is too small.

The 270° focus throw allows you to make extremely accurate focus pulls, and the lens features cine-standard 0.8 MOD lens gears for focus and iris. As part of the vision series, this 12mm lens shares the same focus and iris gear positions as the Vision 25, 35, and 50mm lenses, making swapping lenses fast, as you don't have to reposition the follow focus unit or lens motor you may be using. It features an 89mm front diameter and an 82mm filter thread that allows you to mount optional filters directly on the front of the lens.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with Canon c70 with 0.71x RF to EF speedbooster adapter?

A: Yes, the Venus Optics Laowa 12mm T2.9 Zero-D Cine Lens (Canon EF) can be used with Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R 0.71x on the Canon EOS C70 Cinema Camera.

Q: 2. Is there a pan handle mountable zoom control that can be used with this lens?

A: The DZOFilm DZO 10-24mm T2.9 MFT Parfocal Cine Lens is a manually controlled lens and would require a motorized solution for zooming. The Tilta Nano II could be used to control Zoom, focus, and Iris if you add more motors. It could also attach to many items with its NATO Mount. You would also require 15mm rods or a rig with a rod to work with this solution. Tilta Nucleus Nano II FIZ Wireless Lens Control System BH #TIWLCT05

Q: 3. Will this work with the Canon EF to RF adapter and its internal ND?

A: The Venus Optics Laowa 12 mm T2.9 Zero-D Cine Lens (Canon EF) has a Canon EF mount, so the lens should have no issue working with the adapter listed below: Canon Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter EF-EOS R with Variable ND Filter BH #CAMAEFRFDIND

Q: 4. Is this ultra wide angle Cine lens Fish Eye of Rectilinear?

A: The 7artisans Photoelectric 12mm T2.9 Vision Cine Lens (Z Mount) is a rectilinear lens.

Q: 5. will this lens work on the BMPCC OG ?

A: Yes, the 7artisans Photoelectric 12mm T2.9 Vision Cine Lens (MFT Mount) is compatible with the original Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera.

Q: 6. Is this lens compatible with the Blackmagic Micro Cinema Camera? Super 16mm Sensor?

A: Yes, the DZOFilm DZO 10-24mm T2.9 MFT Parfocal Cine Lens will mount to the Blackmagic Design Micro Cinema Camera natively and it will cover the full super 16mm sensor.

Q: 7. What is the front thread for NDs id like to screw on one if possible?

A: The Venus Optics Laowa 12mm T2.9 Zero-D Cine Lens (Canon EF) does not have front filter threads, and as such screw in filters are not compatible with the lens. With a 12mm format the Venus Optics Laowa 12mm T2.9 Zero-D Cine Lens (Canon EF) is likely to wide angle to pair with external ND filters, but if you want to try a matte box would be the best way to try an apply ND in front of the lens.

Q: 8. will it cover z cam s6 mtf?

A: Unfortunately the DZO lens will vignette, but apparently a Super 35mm version of their lenses should be coming.

Q: 9. Are there any recommended PL to EF converters for 12mm Laowa PL owners who want to use with BMPCC 6k pro

A: B&H offers 44 different PL to Canon EF mount adapters that will work with the Venus Optics Laowa 12mm T2.9 Zero-D Cine Lens and other PL mount lenses. https://bhpho.to/3GQ7SPH

Q: 10. Does anyone know how this compares to the Irix 11mm 4.3 Cine Lens, specifically for real estate video? I can't seem to find any real comparisons online.

A: The Venus Optics Laowa 12mm T2.9 Zero-D Cine Lens (Leica L) is not as wide an angle as the IRIX 11mm T4.3 Cine Lens. It is however, lighter and tiny bit better in low light. Image quality wise, they are comparable.

[Super35/APS-C] Excellent metal build quality on this lens. Use this on my Red Komodo and it does vignette a little in the corners when shooting at 6K, but it is acceptable. Aperture and focus rings move smoothly, although a little stiff at the moment but this should probably loosen up a bit. Definitely better than being too loose! Picture quality is excellent. Great for video. Would definitely recommend this lens for APSC and super 35 sensors, and even the Komodo sensor which is a little wider than super 35.

[82 mm] Like all other reviews! It’s a great lens! I the ParFocal feature is amazing and the zoom is internal it makes it perfect for shooting with a gimble! You’ll not need readjust your gimble every time you zoom in & out.

[T16] It’s my first full on cinema lens, this is great. Has a long focus throw and breathing is minimal which was much more appreciated. Also loved the fact that it was parafocal, got some interesting shots already which is fantastic.

[9] Great wide lens with little to no edge distortion

[9] I started on my video journey in Canon land, then when I realized how handcuffed their mirrorless offerings were, I transitioned to Lumix, and it was a great choice for me at the time. My first piece of glass that I was really happy with was Sigma's 18-35 zoom coupled with the Metabones adapter. I still like it. I didn't like re-focusing at different zoom levels at all. With the GH5S, I have almost always followed a full manual workflow, so when I added this DZO film manual zoom, there was no adjustment for me. I only saw benefits. The benefits to me are as follows in no particular order: Parfocal-how friXXen awesome is this! No Focus breathing, OMG a life changer! Probably the best part. A beautiful rendition of the color palette. A little softer than the Lumix photo lenses, but in a good way. It makes everything look more cinematographic. If your lighting is solid and your white balance locked in, you are going to get great results. I love how this lens looks, how it doesn't get in my way, and if I do a great job with my lighting, it rewards me greatly. (as always, it all starts with light!). This lens makes my job easier and makes me look good.
