Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I charge it with a regular NP-FW50 charger?

A: Yes, the SmallRig NP-FW50 USB-C Rechargeable Camera Battery can be charged with a standard NP-FW50 charger, like the Sony BC-TRW W Series Battery Charger (Black), B&H # SOBCTRW.

Q: 2. With the later firmware updates from Sony (2024) does the A7RV (1) show battery percentage? (2) a warning message when starting

A: When using the SmallRig NP-FZ100 Camera Battery and Charger Kit with the Sony a7R V, you will get a warning message--while a battery percentage might be shown, it is not likely to be consistent when using a non-Sony battery.

Q: 3. does smallrig np-fw50 battery has a usb-c as the smallrig np-fz100 battery or not?

A: No, the SmallRig NP-FW50 Camera Battery does not have a usb-c port.

Q: 4. It work with A73

A: No, the NP-FZ100 battery of the Sony a7 III Mirrorless Camera (B&H # SOA73) is not compatible with the SmallRig NP-FW50 2-Battery Kit with Dual Charger system. The alternative solution is the SmallRig NP-FZ100 2-Battery Kit with Dual Charger (B&H # SM3824). https://bhpho.to/3ECQ60S

Q: 5. Will this charger automatically stop charging a battery once it is fully charged?

A: The SmallRig NP-W235 Camera Battery Charger automatically stops charging a battery once it is fully charged.

Q: 6. can you charge the camera battery via the USB port on the charger. for solar power charging ect?

A: According to the manufacturer, the USB port on this charge is one way and is intended to power mobile phones or small cameras. The only way to charge a camera battery would be to use the AC plug on the back or the included car charger.

Q: 7. Does this include two adapter plates for Sony NP-FW50 batteries?

A: Yes, two Watson battery plates for the NP-FW50 battery would be included.

Q: 8. can I add the adapter plate: Watson Battery Adapter Plate for L & M Series (B&H # WAPSOLM MFR # P-4203) to this charger (B&H # WACSONPFW50 MFR # C-4228)?

A: I would yes you can but I would double check voltage and MAmp outputs match your charger for your battery. But now a days most are same or close.

Q: 9. Is this compatible with X-H2? Description only lists "FUJIFILM GFX 50S II, GFX100S, and X-T4 cameras"

A: The SmallRig NP-W235 Camera Battery Charger is compatible with the FUJIFILM NP-W235 Lithium-Ion Battery (7.2V, 2200mAh) included with the FUJIFILM X-H2 Mirrorless Camera.

Q: 10. I ordered and received this charger from B&H in the same order as my Sony a6000 camera and accessories. When I received the charger, it didn't seem to accept the battery; it seemed it needed a special plate. I called B&H and spoke with a person who told me to return it or buy a special plate. Would this charger have worked with the Sony battery for the a6000--without needing to buy a special plate?

A: This charger already comes with the plate for your a6000. The charger is for the NP-FW50 that is the battery that your camera takes. The battery should have just slid into the plate. You align the connections up with the plate. My apologies you were misinformed.

[Simultaneous] An inexpensive pair of batteries that comes with a charger. Hard to beat.

[LCD Display] This thing charges at a snails pace, but if you're looking for a great travel charger, look no further. It's very light, and you can set two batteries to charge overnight and they'll be done by morning. It's got a built-in USB-A cable and also has an input for an external USB-C cable, so you can power it off pretty much anything. If you want something for home you'd probably want something more powerful, but this is obviously intended for travel, and it does that exceedingly well.

The charge rates listed are a bit ambiguous, so I wrote them for clarification. When charging two batteries, the TOTAL charge rate is 1A. So 500mA per battery. This is relevant for comparison to the Watson equivalent, which is (very) slightly more powerful at 1.2A, slightly lighter, but more than double the price. I went with the Smallrig charger because the .2A isn't really going to make a difference since they'll both need to be used overnight. I'm betting they're both good choices, so it just depends on your priorities.

[Simultaneous] Extremely budget-friendly charger that keeps my Sony RX10 running at home and in the field. A huge requirement for me is something that can be run off a 12V/USB system in my truck camper or trailer as resorting to an inverter is really inefficient. Intuitive and easy to read, it hasn't let me down, albeit I've only used it a handful of times as of this review.
