The Solarflare 10GBASE-SR SFP+ Transceiver 850nmfrom Solarflare 10GBASE-SR SFP+ Transceiver 850nmis a hot-pluggable SFP+ device for use in 10 Gb Ethernet links over multimode fiber. It is compliant with the SFF-8431, SFF-8432, and IEEE 802.3ae 10GBASE-SR specifications. The transceiver is RoHS compliant and lead-free per Directive 2002/95/EC6.

The SFP+ transceiver supports the 2-wire serial communication protocol as defined in the SFF-8472. This low-power module supports OM1, OM2, and OM3 multimode fiber (MMF) media with standard LC connectors.

The SFM10G-SR SFP+ transceiver module is compatible with single-port and dual-port SFP+ 10GbE server adapters. It supports up to 984.2' (300.0m) reach using standard LC connectors with OM3 MMF.

[SFP+] This is currently the lowest price 12G SDI Video SFP. Used in BlackmagicDesign's Optical fiber 12G. Combined with ARIB or SMPTE camera cable, CAM and RET transmission equipment can be made. Excellent! 5

[IEEE 802.3ae] Based on the Aquantia 107 chipset. Works great. Have many other Aquantia based 10 gbe NIC's including the Synology E10G18-T1. Added to a new Dell XPS 8950. Be warned you have to disable the internal 2.5 gbe NIC first or this card will act flaky !!! 5

[10 Gb/s] Bought 2 after other cheaper illuminators were low-light. THey run off a 12 V 7AH battery and the beam means they illuminate objects within 50 ft or more! 5

[Multi-Mode] Running Sony PXW-Z280 and FX6 generated 12G signals over fiber with these SFPs in Blackmagic 12G Optical Fiber adapters, and all works flawlessly. These finally give us live switched 4k shows, all the way to the stream (via an ATEM Television Studio Pro 4k, which is another amazing product). The cable is UTP single mode fiber, generally between 500 and 650 feet depending on the spool, although I'm sure a longer cable would work up to spec distances. These are a bargain compared to the equivalent BMD versions, and I'm very happy to have found them. 5

[5 x 4 x 1"] I've had a few of these scattered about the property for a couple years now. Throws a lot of IR and have been flawless. Beam pattern, IR power, and photocell sensitivity are adjustable. 5

[1 W] Really, there's not much you can say other than I plugged each into an SFP port and they work absolutely perfectly. These are especially useful in a situation like mine where one end is a media converter and the other is a Ubiquiti router with an SFP port (EdgeRouter 4.) It works as you would expect with no discernible speed penalty compared to just a straight Gigabit Ethernet cable. I installed mine to provide galvanic isolation between my cable modem and my home network so I need not worry about lightning strikes on my coaxial cable. Highly recommended and you cannot beat the price. 5
