The Sigma 65mm T1.5 Cine Lens Canon EF Mount Feetfrom Sigma 65mm T1.5 Cine Lens Canon EF Mount Feetcombines the same high-quality optics and mechanics of its FF prime line with a cine-oriented design. This 65mm prime with a Canon EF mount offers full-frame sensor coverage, a slightly tighter "normal" look, 6K to 8K resolution, lens markings in feet, and a T1.5 aperture in a compact, lightweight form.

A common 95mm front diameter and similar physical attributes across the lens line make it easier and quicker to mount lens accessories such as matte boxes, follow focuses, and lens control motors. The 9-bladed iris produces pleasing out-of-focus bokeh effects, and ghosting and flaring have been minimized. Color reproduction, high resolution, and distortion correction are standardized for easier color correction and matching across the Art series. Each lens in the range offers consistent lens gear positions and 180° of focus barrel rotation. The FF High-Speed Cine Prime lenses also feature a clickless iris with linear markings, dampeners on each gear ring for silent operation, industry-standard 0.8 MOD gear pitch, and engraved markings for durability.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does it come with a lens hood?

A: A detachable petal shaped lens hood is included.

Q: 2. How does this compare to a Canon 35 1.4 L?

A: The Canon 35mm 1.4 L lens has autofocusing while the Rokinon 35mm Cine lens is manual focus only and is meant for video/film production.

Q: 3. what is the solution to add an Uv protection filter on this lens?

A: The best option for putting a UV filter in front of the IRIX 21mm T1.5 Cine Lens (Sony E, Feet) would be to use a matte box with filter holders or a filter tray.

Q: 4. Using this lens in a BMPCC 6K Pro woudl be the equivalent of using a 35mm (aprox) in a full frame camera?

A: On the 6k Pro, it would be equivalent to 32.76mm.

Q: 5. Using this lens with Matte Box, like a Tilta Mirage, will I get some vignetting?

A: Tilta suggest not to use a lens that is wider than 25mm on a full frame sensor, regarding vignetting.

Q: 6. Can I use this lens with Sony Fs700R EF mount?

A: The Sony FS700R comes with a Sony E mount, not a Canon EF mount. You can get an adapter such as this: FotodioX Canon EF/EF-S Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera Vizelex ND Throttle Adapter B&H # FOVNDTACS. With such an adapter, you can use the Rokinon 35mm T1.5 Cine DS Lens for Canon EF Mount on the FS700R camcorder.

Q: 7. Is this camera mount altered in any way to accomodate emount? What I Mean is that has the flange been elongated for the emount? Is this emount lens from Rokinon made for emount or has a ring or some type of adapter been welded or molded onto it?

A: You can mount it straight to the camera

Q: 8. What's the main difference between this lens and the Rokinon 35mm T1.5 Cine AS UMC Lens?

A: DS lenses, regardless of focal length, are all the same size so that if you have a set of them, you won't have to adjust your follow focus when you switch out. The Ds lenses also have matching color temperatures, while other lenses may vary a slight bit. The DS lens will be more conveiniet if you own other DS lenses

Q: 9. This lens fit in the new Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K ?

A: Yes

Q: 10. How is the depth of field of this lens? Is it a deep focus lens when stopped down to say 8 or 11 or 16?

A: The depth of field will vastly increase when stopping down the IRIX 21mm T1.5 Cine Lens (Canon EF, Feet) past T8 while retaining sharpness.

[1:7.9] This lens is truly a gem. Superb craftsmanship, sharpness and color rendition., it's a wide angle lens with very little distortion. Pulling focus is a breeze with this lens. With added accessories it has turned my BGH1 into a full-fledged cinema rig.

[Yes] Great lens I have reviewed the first one I purchased. Bought another one for my second camera.

[4.33 lb] Right out of the box it is really a heavy duty professional lens. The focus is a bit stiff, but might loosen up over use. Happy with it and looking forward to shooting with it over time.

[4.33 lb] It never stoped to amaze me the kind of build this lens has. Nice big and a little on the heavy size. I will compromise well build for fragility, I may also add this has a very nice glass. Overall very satisfied with the lens.

[Canon EF] I purchased this lens for my sony FX9 and I shoot with the raw extension. I mostly use the 28/135 F4 sony cine zoom lens. I needed something a bit more wide with a fastest aperture. My dream came true. this lens is excellent, extremely sharp and delivered stunning results. I have tried also the sony 16/35 GM master f2.8.. . but sometimes a real cine lens is better when autofocus(es) has their limitations and when manual focus is required for creativity. highly recommended

[Yes] I needed something longer than my 55 but shorter than my 85 so this is just right for me. Amazing wide open but I recommend a large production monitor to stay on top of the focus, DoF this shallow is gorgeous but you can't take your eye off it for a second.

[43.3 mm] 8K sharpness, weatherproof, low focus breathing, solid metal build quality, 180 degree focus throw. The list of features go on and on. For the price I have never found a lens like this. I compared for months Sigma Art series, SLR Magic’s, Zeiss Milvus. Personally this lens should sit next to higher price brackets like Sigma Cine, New XEENs, Zeiss CP2’s. Having this lens for a week I can say this lens lives up to every feature. Shooting on my Pocket 6K this thing makes it feel like I have a whole new camera or at least like I’m finally taking full advantage of my sensor. Can’t recommend this lens enough. I plan on buying the brand new 15mm Cine and the 150mm Cine macro all 3 will be the price of a single average priced Cine lens!

[86 mm x 1.0] I did a comparison between the Canon CNE 35mm and the IRIX 45mm and if you were not told you could not tell the difference. The sharpness, chromatic aberration, Lens flares, and bokeh looked really similar.

[43.3 mm] Glad Irix finally added something between the 45mm and 150mm. If you're already rocking a set of these primes, the 65mm is a must! Used them for my b-cam side profile angle last week and loved the look of this lens.

[Full Frame] In over 40 years of industrial and feature film making, the Irix primes are my favorite series of prime lenses, favored over the big name lenses that cost 4-5x. They are fast, sharp, have very natural-looking out-of-focus highlights, and the sealing is a bonus for those like us, who shoot a lot of exteriors. Hopefully Irix will soon offer something in the 65mm-85mm range so we can relegate our current short telephoto to the B camera lens set.
