A: The the film scanning hood attached to the Negative Supply Premium Kit for 35mm Film Scanning (2024 Version) is in by friction. It comes in and out very easily.

Q: 2. How do you keep the camera exactly parallel to the baseboard. Many copy stands don't have a precise automatic way to do this?

A: The Negative Supply Enthusiast Kit for 35mm Film Scanning with Basic Riser MK3 provides a 1/4"-20 thread, a wrench to tighten the thread, and with a washer inside the unit that will not let the thread backout. Q: 10. will you actually be able to see the numbers of the frames or just a black board around?

A: It will hold a single 120 frame/negative or a strip of 3. The DigitaLIZA mask hold a very small edge of the (a millimeter or less) of the film, so in most cases you can see any Kodak numbering that was on the film, but all of the 120 photography I did in the 80s, the film showed no frame numbers. You will be able to scan the entire negative with the unexposed frame. The product work well and with a 8x10 flatbed scanner you can put 2 of these mask on the scanner at once, which means you can batch scan 6 frames at once, in manual mode. I hope this helps.

[5 x 4.4 x 4.1"] I got this to pair with my Nikon Z50. Great starter kit that has everything you need. Even comes with a half frame mask, which is great for when I go out shooting with my PenFT.

[5 x 4.4 x 4.1"] Ive used flat beds for the last 10 years, they are slow, the scanning software is out dated and they take up too much space. Flat beds also have lots of moving parts and wear out over time. Being a hybrid shooter I already have a digital and I was able to scoop a lens with 1:1 focus. The negative supply setup is amazing. It is a very high quality build and I’ve never had a concern with moving it. I’m able to scan my negatives much quicker with better software (3rd party LR integration). Over all the experience is much more enjoyable than having to cut, hang and swap out negatives from flimsy negative holders that flag beds use. So glad I bought into this system.

[0.26 lb] Negative Supply makes a very comprehensive system for scanning film in all formats by using a digital camera and a macro lens. I needed to scan 35mm, so I bought the 35mm LED light source, the 35mm Pro Film Carrier, and the Basic Riser (to which I mounted my digital camera). Everything worked perfectly! By using this system, negatives can be scanned quite quickly, doing an entire roll in a few minutes. Mounting the camera on the riser makes the camera perfectly parallel to the film. The film carrier keeps the film flat and, combined for a good macro lens, my scans were very sharp. Negative Supply's website (www.negative.supply) has a complete explanation of the entire system, including videos on how the various components work.

[0.26 lb] Even if you don't plan on scanning this makes a great portable loupe and reviewing setup. Scanning with a DSLR or DSLM is a little more difficult than I thought (need a macro lens) but this side of things is actually very easy. I wish you could adjust the brightness of the LED. Also, it's brighter when plugged into USB. Batteries work too but they are dimmer.

[5 x 4.4 x 4.1"] I added this item to my Basic 35 MK2 carrier to scan my 35mm film with borders. I loved the look when I used to print in the darkroom, and am thrilled to be able to scan my film with borders now. This device keeps my film flat for sharp results, and includes helpful masks for various 35mm film sizes.

[5 x 4.4 x 4.1"] I’ve searched for years for a device that allowed me to scan ALL of my 120 film frames, along with the film stock information, frame number, etc., easily. This device lets me do that, and works perfectly with my Basic 120 MK2 film carrier. The interchangeable masks are helpful, too, as they prevent extra light from reducing contrast on my film scans.
