Designed to support demanding applications such as media streaming, cloud computing, and virtualization, the barebone ASUS RS500A-E12-RS12U-12W12B Rackmount Server Barebonefrom ASUS RS500A-E12-RS12U-12W12B Rackmount Server Bareboneallows you to fully customize its performance while having room to scale as your needs grow. Fitting 1 RU rackmount space with its included rails, this system features a single AMD EPYC 9004 series processor socket and twenty-four 12-channel DDR5-4800 RDIMM memory slots to support demanding applications, including AI workloads and 3D design.

The front panel includes 12 hot-swappable 2.5" NVMe drive bays. There are also two internal M.2 22110 PCIe 5.0 SSD slots available. Up to 6144GB of memory may be installed, and multiple PCIe Gen 5 x16 and x8 slots are available for up to four two single-slot GPUs and other compatible expansion cards. The two Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports allow you to quickly integrate the server with your network. This server includes dual 1200W 80 PLUS Platinumpower supplies with the second one providing failover redundancy.

Based on the Zen 4 architecture, AMD EPYC 9004 series CPUs feature up to 128 cores, supporting 12-channel DDR5-4800 memory and up to 128 PCIe 5.0 lanes, delivering the resources needed for memory hungry AI, ML, HPC, and large in-memory computations.

PCI Express 5.0 delivers 32 GT/s bandwidth, which is twice the speed of PCIe 4.0, and offers lower power consumption, better lane scalability, and backwards compatibility. ASUS servers are PCIe 5.0 ready, with scalable designs to satisfy the increasing workloads or modern data centers.

An on-board LAN module and OCP 3.0 module with PCIe 5.0 slot in rear panel allow for faster connectivity.

[1x 1200 W] This is also the rail kit for the TS-h2477XU-RP. Always verify compatibility. To install, slide the inner rails out (you'll need to pull on the white tab), and then the rails will slide/lock into place on the sides of the QNAP unit. Mount the slide rails in your rack, and slide the QNAP unit into the mounted rails. These rails are for a couple of the 4RU units; on the TS-h2477XU-RP, the rails mount on the 2nd RU from the bottom. So when you mount the rails in the rack, place them 1 RU up from where you want the bottom of the unit to be (or 2 RU down from the top). Rail mounting is straight forward, and mating to the QNAP with the inner slides happened with ease. Highly recommend the use of the appropriate rail kit with the QNAP rackmount units. 5

[12x 2.5"] Since this device is so new, the device driver for Wi-Fi and Ethernet is not in the installation software for the operating system. You must connect an external USB Wi-Fi so that it can download the device driver from the internet. Other than this hiccup, everything works fine. I bought three. 5
