Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will the adapter fit with the RED RF-PL electronic ND adapter?

A: The Atlas Lens Co. 1.6x LF Extender has not been tested with the RED RF-PL ND adapter. Atlas printable clearance check gauge for testing lenses. https://bit.ly/3vgdUqa

Q: 2. is it come with pl mount mounted on lenses with extra ef mount or can i choose pl or ef?

A: The Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph S35 Prime 3-Lens Bundle has integrated PL mounts attached to the lens. The kit also includes Canon PL to EF adapters for mounting to EF mount cameras.

Q: 3. Do these have any electronic contacts? (Not for AF or anything) but just wondering if T-stop information is at least shared with the camera.

A: No these lenses do not have electronic contacts

Q: 4. What’s the matching SKB case model if we want to stack another case?

A: The Atlas Lens Co. 3-Lens IP67 Case with Foam (Set B) (B&H# ATIP673LCWFB) is a proprietary design. However, the SKB 3I-1914-8B-C Mil-Std Waterproof Case 8" Deep (Black) (B&H# SK3I19148BC) is very close to it in terms of measurements and specifications: https://bhpho.to/40XmXI9

A: Yes, the Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph S35 Prime 3-Lens Bundle (Micro Four Thirds, Amber Flare) is interchangeable mount capable. See the link below for the Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph Bayonets: https://bhpho.to/3TAYTG4

Q: 7. Does anyone know if using these lenses with an EF mount in conjunction with the EF to RF adapter on a Red Komodo would cause issues? Interested in using them that way because of the rear ND option.

A: The Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph S35 Prime 3-Lens Bundle (ARRI PL & Canon EF, Silver Flare) will work fine with an EF to RF adapter when mounted to a Red Komodo camera.

Q: 8. Can this be used with the Atlas Mercury on a super 35 sensor camera like the RED Komodo to achieve a full frame field of view?

A: The Atlas Lens Co. 1.4x LF Extender (PL Lens to PL-Mount) increases focal length in order for Super 35mm lenses to function with full frame and larger sensors. It will NOT expand the field of view for super 35mm sensors. For example: "Equivalent Focal Lengths: Orion 21mm + 1.4x expander = ~29mm" It expands the focal length of a 21mm to 29mm, but allows the Orion 21mm super 35mm lens to work on a full frame, but at a 29mm focal length.

Q: 9. Did Zeiss announce whether there will be an adapter for Canon RF Mount for these?

A: No, as of now, Zeiss has only announced the ZEISS Nano Prime 6-Lens Set (Sony E, Feet) in the Sony E-Mount.

Q: 10. Will this work on a Canon 8-64mm T2.4 Super16 lens?

A: The Canon 8-64mm T2.4 Super16 does have a PL mount and could connect to the Atlas Lens Co. 1.4x LF Extender. However, Atlas says - Compatible with ARRI LF, Sony VENICE, RED V-RAPTOR, and VistaVision cameras

[32 to 100mm] The best way to go anamorphic at a budget price using the full size of an MFT sensor like on ZCam E2. Top quality build and image. Just an error in the B&H description: the filter size is 67mm!!!

[Super35/APS-C] I am truly amazed by the images these lenses can produce for the price and size! If you are looking for lenses that don't look sterile and have some character to them without having to sell all your possessions to afford them, then these are absolutely the lenses for you!

[2x] Blazar nailed this and no its not a perfect lens... but for under a grand ITS INSANE that a TINY and LIght-weight anamorphic getting you that old panavision c-d series aesthetic but you can actually own these. Are they 2x no obviously not - My Gemini is 30x18mm (rounded) and on 4 perf S35 ie larger S35 chips like my Red Gemini this Lens is a DREAM... Its definitely soft wide open as most vintage anamorphics are and has some CA and flaws but they are very organic... and although the squeeze isnt 2x the Bokeh are CLEARLY oval and the blue streaks (got the blue streak PL ) are great... I always think you need to see how SMALL they are to believe it I dont need a support on My Gemini or when using the FF on my Eos r5. I cant wait for rest have 100 and Hoping the 85 comes soon and then the 33mm FF But this one is a must if you can only buy one.

[Super35/APS-C] First off, there's a review with 1 start saying ( Not for professional use ) - I think that's an irresponsible opinion, without any room for subjectiveness. Since the definition of a professional really is nothing more than someone who is being paid for their work, you can't just say not for professional use, when there are many types of looks in demand by clients looking for exactly what these produce. I'd say these are definitely lenses for professionals in the right situation.

Quick mentiontions (tough body and mounts, strong gears, very controlled flaring, and ultra light).

I am not saying these are the best tools for every job, and I agree that there are some issues regarding the lenses distortion - which are easily noticeable in review videos (evidently the other person didn't study before buying), which for me, has all be quickly addressable in an editor with limited adjustments if I decided to correct it.

However, I have already had a few clients, including my own personal work, where the look and feel these lenses with the distortion they create is preferred, it added a feel to the image, it was the deciding factor to use these for the productions actually (feature films), it added a driving mood that complimented the narrative - so when I say they are a tool, I am simply saying - understand what your tools have to offer, and you will know if they are the right ones for the jobs, and in those cases, these lenses are phenomenal. They are a little too sharp for my typical feel, but I slapped a custom made filter in my matte box, and they have become the perfect look for my film making aesthetic.

Study these lenses on YouTube, understand their strengths and weaknesses, and make sure those strengths align with your objective - if they do, BUY THESE - I love mine.

[T16] A lot of bokeh at 65mm, but one of the lightest ones in the Orion set (besides the 32mm). Lighter than 40mm

[32 to 100mm] I've been on the hunt for some budget Anamorphic Lens, and saw some reviews online on these Viltrox EPIC lenses. I took a chance and bought the three lens set. When I shot some test footage, I was really blown away at how much character these lenses have and the quality of the image. I tested the set on both the Sony FX 3 and an Arri Amira. The 50 mm and 75 mm are both very sharp wide-open and the 35 mm is very good around T/2.8. The only negative which applies to nearly all anamorphic lenses is the minimum focusing distance isn't as close as I wish it was. I wound up purchasing a diopter to obtain close focus. What's really great about these lenses is that they are usable for any type of project due to the fact that the squeeze factor is only 1.33X. And even though they have a smaller squeeze factor than many other anamorphic lenses these cover full frame and have some nice anamorphic characteristics in the image. I'm very satisfied with my purchase and I am enjoying using these lenses.

[Super35/APS-C] True 2x anamorphic with Panavision C style look.
T2 a little soft, but truly unique character. High build quality.

Wish there was a way to add lens data via the mount. /i data.
