Maximize the performance of your computer system while making room for games, videos, photos, and other large files with the 2TB PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSD with Heat Sinkfrom Transcend. Designed to take full advantage of the PCIe 4.0 x4 bandwidth, this M.2 2280 SSD boasts sequential read and write speeds of up to 7100 MB/s and 6500 MB/s, respectively. This speed allows you to load expansive game levels, demanding applications, and massive project files in a flash.

The 250H series is also built to last with a Total Bytes Written (TBW) rating of 1560TB. Additionally, a powerful Low-Density Parity Check (LDPC) error correction algorithm keeps your data secure. The included aluminum heat sink and dynamic thermal throttling system also helps to maintain optimal performance with heavy, sustained workloads.

The PCIe 4.0 specification supports a bandwidth of 16 GT/s per lane as opposed to 8 GT/s per lane for PCIe 3.0. While it is backward compatible with PCIe 3.0, PCIe 4.0 enables higher transfer speeds with lower system latency, delivering high performance to gamers and content creators.

With its high conductivity and large surface area, the aluminum heat sink reduces SSD temperatures by up to 15%, allowing it to maintain high performance.

Transcend's PCIe SSD is engineered with LDPC (Low-Density Parity Check) coding, a powerful ECC algorithm, to keep data secure. With its built-in dynamic thermal throttling mechanism, the operating temperature is monitored and controlled to deliver superior endurance and stability for high-end applications.

Transcend's SSD Scope software makes it easy to monitor the condition and optimize the performance of your SSD.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does it require a heatsink with Del Optiplex 5270 AIO, core i7 9th gen 16gb ram (will upgrade to 32 gb 1 year later)?

A: No, a heatsink is not required with the Samsung 1TB 980 PRO PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 Internal SSD. It is equipped with Reliable Thermal Control.

Q: 2. Would this be compatible with Synology's E10M20-T1?

A: The Samsung 2TB 980 PRO PCIe is not listed on Synology's compatibility list and may not function properly.

Q: 3. The enclosure I'm trying to use recommends less than 4.5W. Is this less? How to check?

A: The Sabrent 1TB Rocket 2230 NVMe PCIe 4.0 M.2 Internal SSD has an operating voltage of 3.3V. This should be compatible.

Q: 4. Where does the hard drive go?

A: The Kingston 500GB NV2 M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD inserts into a PCIe 2280 M.2 slot on a motherboard. The location of any M.2 slots can vary depending on the motherboard, so I would recommend referring to your motherboard's diagram to determine the location and quantity of any available M.2 slots.

Q: 5. Is there a raid enclosure that will work with the 980? I am an editor looking for a high storage ssd work station that I can build.

A: Sorry, none of the enclosures that B&H carries will work with the Samsung 2TB 980 PRO PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 Internal SSD with Heatsink.

Q: 6. Will this work with the Mac Pro 2019?

A: No, unfortunately the Samsung 2TB 980 PRO PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 Internal SSD would have a different key type making it incompatible with the Mac Pro 2019. The Apple 1TB SSD Kit for Mac Pro (2019) (APMXNN2AMA) would be ideal for use in the Mac Pro (2019).

Q: 7. Does it comes with international warranty?

A: You would need to purchase the 2 or 3 year Allstate Protection Plan which would provide worldwide coverage.

Q: 8. Will this work with the new MSI ge66 rider?

A: Yes. The Samsung 1TB 980 PRO PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 Internal SSD is compatible with the MSI 15.6" GE66 Raider Gaming Laptop.

Q: 9. Is there any DRAM cache for the 4Tb version?

A: The Silicon Power 4TB UD90 NVMe PCIe 4.0 M.2 2280 Internal SSD does not have a DRAM cache.

Q: 10. Will this work/replace the 256GB drive in a Macbook AIR, 13-inch, 2017? Thx

A: Unfortunately this is not compatible with a 13" MacBook Air 2017 model.

[2 TB] I've used Crucial DIMMs before and never had a problem, so I hoped this M.2 SSD would be just as reliable. So far, so good. Windows boots very quickly as expected from the SSD.

[0.14 lb] Is ideal for the Steam Deck since it is one of the only form factors that fits. Unfortunately, you're going to pay for that privilege because the vendor knows they are one of the only form factors that fits.

Valve's heat shield is a little snug so rather than trying to slide it over like a sock, just remove the adhesive and apply like a bandaid.

[0.14 lb] I was very nervous, but I watched U-Tube until I worked up the nerve to give it a shot. Only took a few minutes to install and a few more to clone the old drive using the cloning software provided. Added more RAM too. Took an old laptop I was thinking about replacing and made it super-fast. Now it boots up as fast as I can enter the password.

[0.14 lb] Great consumer option for the Steam Deck from a reputable brand. Haven't experienced any issues with this drive and the price is fair for something new vs. the OEM options that we were initially stuck with.
