Maximize the performance of your computer system while making room for games, videos, photos, and other large files with the Transcend 2TB 250S PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSD with Heat Sinkfrom Transcend. Designed to take full advantage of the PCIe 4.0 x4 bandwidth while taking up minimal space, this compact M.2 2280 SSD boasts sequential read and write speeds of up to 7100 MB/s and 6500 MB/s, respectively. This speed allows you to load expansive game levels, demanding applications, and massive project files in a flash.

The exceptionally thin, low-profile graphene heat sink allows you to install the SSD into a wide variety computer and console systems while the dynamic thermal throttling system also helps to maintain optimal performance with heavy, sustained workloads. The 250S series is built to last with a Total Bytes Written (TBW) rating of 1560TB. Additionally, a powerful Low-Density Parity Check (LDPC) error correction algorithm keeps your data secure.

The PCIe 4.0 specification supports a bandwidth of 16 GT/s per lane as opposed to 8 GT/s per lane for PCIe 3.0. While it is backward compatible with PCIe 3.0, PCIe 4.0 enables higher transfer speeds with lower system latency, delivering high performance to gamers and content creators.

An integrated, ultra-thin graphene heat sink improves heat dissipation to help ensure stable device performance.

Transcend's PCIe SSD is engineered with LDPC (Low-Density Parity Check) coding, a powerful ECC algorithm, to keep data secure. With its built-in dynamic thermal throttling mechanism, the operating temperature is monitored and controlled to deliver superior endurance and stability for high-end applications.

Transcend's SSD Scope software makes it easy to monitor the condition and optimize the performance of your SSD.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Where does the hard drive go?

A: The Kingston 500GB NV2 M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD inserts into a PCIe 2280 M.2 slot on a motherboard. The location of any M.2 slots can vary depending on the motherboard, so I would recommend referring to your motherboard's diagram to determine the location and quantity of any available M.2 slots.

Q: 2. The enclosure I'm trying to use recommends less than 4.5W. Is this less? How to check?

A: The Sabrent 1TB Rocket 2230 NVMe PCIe 4.0 M.2 Internal SSD has an operating voltage of 3.3V. This should be compatible.

Q: 3. What is the TBW endurance and energy consumption in watts for the 4Tb version?

A: The Silicon Power 4TB UD90 NVMe PCIe 4.0 M.2 2280 Internal SSD has a TBW endurance of 2400TB. The manufacturer has not published a power consumption rating for this SSD.

Q: 4. Is it double or single sided?

A: The Kingston 4TB NV2 M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD BH #KISNV2S4000G only has chips on one side.

Q: 5. Will this work in Aurora R7?

A: Yes, this Samsung 2TB 980 PRO SSD is compatible with the Dell Aurora R7.

Q: 6. Is it compatible with the iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2019)?

A: No, unfortunately the Samsung 2TB 980 PRO PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 Internal SSD with Heatsink would not be compatible with the iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2019). You would require a drive like the OWC Aura Pro X2 due to the type of connection used on the iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2019).

Q: 7. Is there a raid enclosure that will work with the 980? I am an editor looking for a high storage ssd work station that I can build.

A: Sorry, none of the enclosures that B&H carries will work with the Samsung 2TB 980 PRO PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 Internal SSD with Heatsink.

Q: 8. Will this work/replace the 256GB drive in a Macbook AIR, 13-inch, 2017? Thx

A: Unfortunately this is not compatible with a 13" MacBook Air 2017 model.

Q: 9. Does it comes with international warranty?

A: You would need to purchase the 2 or 3 year Allstate Protection Plan which would provide worldwide coverage.

Q: 10. Is this a single sided card?

A: The Sabrent 1TB Rocket 2230 NVMe PCIe 4.0 M.2 Internal SSD is a single-sided card.

[1560 TB] I have tested about 8 different drives for the Lenovo Legion Go and none have managed their thermals as well as this drive. Its speeds are great, and being a single sided NVME it is perfect the the Legion Go and I would think any other application that focuses on 2242 size drives. I will be buying more of these soon.

[0.09 lb] Used this ssd to upgrade my lenovo legion go and for me is giving great performance and also great operation temperature 62°C playing games like ghost of tsushima (with pretty decent on the demand of resources). I bought from Mexico, so you can buy with confidence, the shipment arrived in 7 business days.

[1560 TB] Is ideal for the Steam Deck since it is one of the only form factors that fits. Unfortunately, you're going to pay for that privilege because the vendor knows they are one of the only form factors that fits.

Valve's heat shield is a little snug so rather than trying to slide it over like a sock, just remove the adhesive and apply like a bandaid.

[1560 TB] Used it on my Pi, worked with no fiddling. I enabled PCIe 3 and it is very stable so far. I did set the Pi's fan to run slowly all the time to keep everything cool. Wow... the speed is incredible. A different, main line, brand would't boot until I patched the config.txt file.
