Keep your hands and fingers warm and protected from the elements with this 6-7 size pair of Heat Company Shell Full-Leather Mittens Size 6-7from The Heat Company. The 6-7 size fits users who have a palm circumference of 5.5-6.9". The palm circumference can be measured using soft measuring tape without wrapping it too tight around your palm.

These mittens are constructed from tough yet soft goatskin leather and lined with warm and comfortable Primaloft Gold insulation. When you need to use your fingers to operate a camera, access your phone, or perform another task, simply fold back the finger and thumb flaps. A magnetic clasp keeps the flaps out of your way, so they don't interfere with what you're doing.

They have an adjustable cinch at the wrist and long closing cuffs to keep snow out. A small zippered pocket on each mitten stores optional disposable hand warmers or small accessories like your credit card and ID. A container of heat balm is provided to keep the leather soft and supple.

Q: 1. Does this come with a pair for left and right?

A: Yes. This is a pair of gloves with gloves for the right and left hand.

Q: 2. Can a page be uses for news print articals?

A: Depends on the size of the newspaper article. Each page has six separate 4x6 pockets that you slide your picture into.

Q: 3. Can this be used with the base plate that works with the BH-55 head? I am considering the BH-30 to use on a travel tripod.

A: Yes the same base plate will work for both!

Q: 4. Has anyone compared this to the BH-30 with the compact lever-release clamp?

A: I have. I have both the full size and compact lever release clamps. Both are excellent. The full size is on my BH-50 (large head) and the compact clamp I got when I wanted a smaller ball head for travel. I tossed and turned on both clamps for a while, but very happy I went with the compact for the BH-30. For me, it made no sense to get the lager one when my aim was to reduce wait and be as compact as possible. It holds my 6D with 70-300L perfectly and I really don't miss the larger clamp.

Q: 5. Define "Water Repellent?" Can I sit in the rai for hours and stay relatively dry? I don't need to be able to submerge them...

A: Yes you can use these gloves in the rain and your hands will stay dry.

Q: 6. How many pages does the album come with?

A: This album comes with 25 pages.

Q: 7. 1. Is it expandable and how many more pages can you insert into one album ? 2. Is there other kind of page (8x10) or magnetic you can insert in this album (if expandable) ?

A: It is expandable. When you buy the refill, it comes with little metal digits that you insert into the hole. The refills are only sixty pictures. I have had as much as 500 pictures in one album. I have been buying this product for years and have held on to the little metal digits over the years. You need to add the metal digit every time you add so many pages. However, the bigger you go , makes it a little bulky, when shutting. I have only used the 4 x 6.

Q: 8. How do I tell what size glove will fit me?

A: To find your size, measure the circumference of your palm at the widest point, just below your fingers. This size 10 glove equates to a hand circumference of 8.9-9.5".

Q: 9. How flexible/pliable are these gloves? Can you easily manipulate camera controls?

A: The Heat Company Polartec Wind Pro Liner Gloves would easily allow you to manipulate the controls on your camera.

Q: 10. can I buy pages designed to store film strips?

A: Pages to store film strips cannot be purchased for the Pioneer Photo Albums MP-46 Full Size Memo Pocket Album (Black).

[Black] I use these with the separate Merino wool liners. Together they are wonderful. This combination is definitely warmer than the mittens with built in liners, which I did not like. The mittens are very functional. I am very happy.

[Black] When these gloves are combined with a good pair of liners, the warmth, comfort, and versatility, are simply unmatched! Print and use the measuring tape to ensure a good fit and you cannot go wrong. These are highly recommended!

[Black] These shells are very comfortable. I have not worn them in a subzero environment yet, but I believe given the choices of gloves available everywhere, that these are the best choice if you need to make camera adjustments in very cold weather.

[Black] I used these in Yellowstone and Grand Tetons last week. It was 0F and 15F on the 2 days I was in Yellowstone. These gloves kept my hands toasty. I didn't use the Heat Co liners though. I used some ~$10 liners I bought at a big box store, and they worked just fine. I'll compare shooting with these gloves to my Yosemite trip last Thanksgiving in ~15-20F where I had liners and a different brand, high-quality snowboarding mittens.

With Heat Co mittens and other brand liners:
- fingers get cold in unzipped mode after extended shooting...as expected because liners aren't going to keep my fingers warm in 0-15F.
- fingers warm up faster once put back in the mittens.
- if speed and mobility are important in your shooting, you could quickly put fingers in/out of mittens in-between shots while moving around (without zipping up). This helps to keep your fingers warm.

With snowboarding mittens/liner combo:
- entire hand gets cold when I pulled off the mittens to shoot...as expected.
- takes longer to warm up my hands once the mittens come back on.
- a hassle and slower to put on/off mittens when in-between shots.

I hope this helps you determine if paying the premium is worth it for your needs. It was totally worth it for me.

[Black] I've used the Heat Company shells twice now on early winter mornings here in Maine. Air temps were in the 20s and my hands felt perfectly comfortable. When I pulled back the covers over my fingers, on which I had liners, I was able to operate the functions on my camera quite easily. The system worked very well for me.

[Black] I hesitated to buy these because of the price, but I'm glad I did finally get them. They kept my hands warm enough on a trip in Alaska, standing out in the cold with my camera for hours on end. Love the wrist straps, the place for hand warmers over my fingers, the long cuffs and everything about these mittens. The only change I would make would be to have the zipper on the inside of the hand go the opposite way, so only my index finger needed to be exposed to the cold, and also then that zipper pull would have been out of the way of my index finger, but it wasn't a big deal. Definitely recommend.

[Black] Worked well in -10 degree Fahrenheit weather while using chemical hand warmers in the zipper pouches. I also wore Heat Co. Merino Wool liner underneath with a chemical hand warmer in the provided pouches. The zipper finger opening worked well with the magnetic catch as did the thumb covers. I was able to manipulate a full-size Nikon DSLR.
