[Yes] Simple, well-made as always. Perfect for a mirrorless with a small lens. Couple of things would make it better:
move the strap attachment points (horizontally) toward the zipper side; hangs much nicer when loaded and the top opens away from you - only one bag company gets this right (I forget which)
add attachment points (like spaces in the sewing of the straps that wrap around, nothing major) and maybe a belt loop (again, so the top opens away from you)
Those two adds would really make this one stand out.

[Gray] My first J3 Domke made it about 20 years of daily pro use before it started to crater so I say that good enough reason to purchase another . These bags just seem to expand the more gear you load in . Quality of construction is top notch twenty years later .

[Zipper] I am strictly a recreational photographer who enjoys saving memories of those I love and the places I enjoy going. I just started building a new bag of photographic equipment. I LOVE this bag! I had a Domke bag before and it was wonderful and stood up to everything I gave it. The one drawback I see is that I should have gotten the Domke J-2 Journalist Shoulder Bags. You never seem to have enough room once you get started. On the other hand, this J-3 is a great size for those of us looking to carry a little less. Tough call...

[Yes] I will use this bag most of the time - carries 60D with grip and EF-S 15-85mm lens attached in main compartment with 70-200mm f/4 L held in place with velcro divider. Padded side pockets can hold flash or smaller lenses like 85mm f/1.8. Excellent bag - black ballistic nylon with sage green interior looks really sharp. This is a great bag - made in USA. Domke logo is discreet as well on side pockets.

[Yes] This is a nice way to carry a heavy dSLR, or film SLR out of sight and out of the elements. Enough room for one large camera with a normal lens, film, batteries, lens tissue, and a granola bar. Inexpensive and not likely to attract a thief like an expensive bag might.

[Gray] So far, this bag is perfect for me. I'm using it with a Canon EOS 80D, and it easily fits the camera with an 18-135 lens. Can be stored lens down/up, but I've been putting the camera in so it's on it's side, and I can reach in with my right hand and pull it out. I wasn't sure about the center partitioners, but after some readjustment, I was able to configure them to hold three lenses/accessories on one side, and a rectangular section for the camera on the other side. The main flap is easy to open, and if you just flop it closed, it will velcro itself shut nicely. I'm not a big fan of the metal latch, but it works fine. The side pouches are big, and I haven't yet filled them. They come with padded inserts that can be removed. I've bought some ballistic nylon and plan to sew pouches to the sides of the padded inserts. Should be real easy with this design. The side pouches also have velcro and work well, and the plastic releases are very easy to use. The only little complaint with the bag is that the main strap is not removable, but I guess I could probably buy something and adapt it to the bag later if I really wanted to. The handle is also a bit awkward. I like that it is removable, but when in use, it gets in the way of the main flap a little and then the main strap gets in the way as you are carrying it by the handle.

[Yes] I have been collecting Domke bags that are made in ballistic nylon, as it never seems to fade, is easy to clean and sturdy. I have the F3XB in ballistic nylon, the F4 in black ballistic nylon, and kept looking for my favorite bag, the F4 AF Pro bag, to be issued in ballistic nylon. That is my favorite bag, and I've had like five of them. I retire them when they are faded out. I saw this J-3 awhile ago but didn't spring for it. Finally, I recently just pulled the trigger. I put the inserts from my F4 AF Pro bag into the J3. What I like about both of these bags, over the minimal F3XB is the padding. I feel like my gear is protected. Even the pockets on this J3 have padding. I would never slide any speedlight into the side pocket of my other bags, but with the J3's padded side pockets I certainly would. This bag is the form factor I like if you know the F4 AF Pro and the F3X bags. They are easy and do not hinder movement, like throwing it over my shoulder in the car and getting out. The F4 gets caught on the steering wheel, but these less wide bags slide right past. This bag is the form factor I love, in the excellent ballistic nylon. This bag should be called the F4 AF Pro in ballistic nylon. (With extra padded side pockets.)
