[0.945 lb] I have the previous version of this product and it wasn't as good. This one is clearly better and I'm satisfied. Keep in mind that you'll need to use the included Cyberlink software (a bit complicated to download but free) to watch Blu-Ray discs with it.

[Yes] Upon purchasing a new PC, I decided (perhaps foolishly) to re-input 1200+ music cds into iTunes. I wanted to reorganize and reacquaint myself with a collection accumulated over decades. I quickly realized I needed a faster drive for the task. Long story short, I ran this 8 hours a day for several weeks, and it never faltered. It's 4 times faster than the standard cd/dvd drive. Obviously hard-copy music is retro tech, but if you prefer to own and organize your own music, this drive is highly recommended. I ordered a second unit, because, yes, I know, cds are going the way of the DoDo and the Carrier pigeon.

[Tray] Currently, I use this product for creating Blu-ray discs containing video of school orchestra and band performances. I received the product in late November 2014 and have created four discs to-date. The product is connected to a computer system with the following general specifications: - Manufacturer: HP - Model: Envy - Processor: Intel Core i5-3470 CPU @ 3.20GHz - RAM: 12 Gb - System Type: 64-bit - OS: Windows 8.1 - Video editing software: CyberLink PowerDirector Ultra 12 64-bit The things I like about this product are: - It is an external drive connected via USB 3.0. Before I purchased this product, I read a few reviews that indicated users experienced problems successfully burning discs with this drive. I have experienced no problems. Again, I have created four discs to-date. I have experienced no problems creating the disc or running it on Blu-ray players. - It is fast -- at least for my purposes. It took approximately 2.5 hours to create a disc containing a 2 hour video (the 2.5 hours includes creating the disc image on my computer and then burning that image to the disc. The actual burn of the image took approximately 15 to 30 minutes of the 2.5 hours). - It is quiet. - Very quick and easy to install. It is pretty much plug 'n' play. - Portable The things that aren't so great about the product -- I have yet to find any.
