A: Yes, it is possible to go from the Panasonic Lumix G Vario 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH. POWER O.I.S. Lens which uses a 58mm filter thread, to a 58mm solid neutral density filter with front threading, to a Sensei 58-62mm Aluminum Step-Up Ring to mount the SmallRig Mini Matte Box Lite. Be sure you have the SmallRig Matte Box Adapter Ring Kit for Mini Matte Box (52/55/58/62/86-95mm) since the 62mm ring adapter does not come with the original matte box.

Q: 2. Can this be mounted to the Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Lens for Sony E?

A: The SmallRig Mini Matte Box Lite does not work because the Sigma 14-24mm lens does not have front filter threads for the Matte-Box to attach to. Also when using any matte box on a wide angle lens the wide angle view may be blocked.

A: Yes, The SmallRig Mini Matte Box Lite could vignette when using very wide angle lenses. We have not been able to test it with the 15-35mm.

A: The matte box can accommodate circular/rotating filters as small as 52mm and 86mm is the largest. The matte box does not support 4" x 4" or 100mm x 100mm sized filters.

A: The SmallRig Mini Matte Box Lite has no accommodating side flags.

Q: 10. Does a 2mm-thick 4x5.65" filter fit in this tray?

A: Yes, The Smallrig Mini Matte-box will support 2mm filters. It supports 4 x 5.65" filters with up to 4mm thickness.

[1x Top Flag] So easy to change the filter when changing lenses. And the cimage produced is very nice. Very little color shift. And there are hard stops for the ND which is great. The Black mist makes a more filmic image and the CPL helps with skies and also reflections. 5

[1x Top Flag] I was a little put off by the price of the 4x4 matte box but after seeing the quality of the Sony A7III kit cage, I was confident the matte box would have the same quality craftsmanship - and it does. I’m glad I discovered SHAPE when I did. 5

[0.445 lb] The Shape Matte 44 matte box is a great asset to my camera package. It is well built; very sturdy and tight. I am using it with a Sony FS7 and its adjustability allows it to fit perfectly. The swivel action easily allows for lens access and the filter holders hold firm. My only complaint is that the French flags fit a little loosely but otherwise I am very happy with my Matt44! 5

[0.445 lb] I have long wanted a matte box, if for no other reason than to act as a maximum shield against flare. Because of the three bar doors, one on top and two on each side, this product does that job well. The build quality is very good, and includes several foam rings to help fit different lenses of various barrel widths. This will dovetail nicely with my SHAPE Composite shoulder-mount rig, which came with rails onto which this will slide. And it contains two filter holders, of course, as any matte box should. They rotate as well, making them useful for graduated filters. I find this Candian company to provide good quality products at the right price. Many matte boxes on the market today are very overpriced. Shape does not fall into that category. The device came needing a little assembly. However, there were no instructions. But a call to the company yielded a competent person who walked me through the final assembly. 5

[Aluminum] Very light and fit's my camera using adapter provided. I setup with Sirui Anamorphic lens, and works great. Some people complained about cracked hinge. The design of this hinge is that it does not have resistive movement. You have to unlick the lock to move the flap - no big deal for me. Works well, very light in weight, and comes with a rectangular filter holder (but I use circular ND filter on lens itself when needed). This model appears to be some OEM product that's shared via numerous Chinese companies, such as Neewer, Sirui, to just name a few. Some are cheaper, and SmallRig seems to have most premium price (maybe not the same product, but look identical). 5
