Enjoy simple setup and lights-on projection with the Elite Screens FTE122H3-C4D Kestrel Tab-Tension 3 CLR 4D 59.8 x 106.3" Motorized Rising Projection Screen. The FTE122H3-C4D is a 16:9, 122" diagonal, motorized rising screen with Elite's ISF Certified, ambient-light-rejecting CineGrey 4D screen surface.

This electric floor-rising screen is housed in an elegant, black aluminum case that plugs into a standard 3-prong electrical outlet. There is no complicated installation needed, just plug and play. The CineGrey 4D surface is designed for standard-to-long throw projectors with a throw ratio greater than 1.4:1. The angular reflective material rejects up to 63% of ambient light and is ISF certified for color accuracy, ideal for environments with little or no control of indirect lighting such as family rooms, lecture halls, boardrooms, or training facilities. For your convenience, IR, RF, and 12V trigger controls are included.

The CineGrey 4D is a 1.1 gain, flexible front-projection, ceiling-ambient light rejecting material for standard throw projectors. It can reject up to 63% of off-axis lighting while providing a bright, contrast-rich image in moderate light room environments. The CineGrey 4D produces outstanding images with a balanced color temperature for residential and commercial applications. The ambient light rejecting properties assist in maintaining picture clarity that does not wash out the image like typical matte white surfaces do under ambient light conditions.

To obtain ISF certification a projection screen must meet a list of essential ISF qualities such as accurate color fidelity, uniform spectral response, and black level performance.

  • Not compatible with ultra-short and short-throw projectors
  • Uses a multilayer matrix with reflective and absorbent micro-particles to eliminate 63% ambient light
  • 4K/8K Ultra HD, HDR, and Active 3D compatible
  • Moisture resistant black aluminum housing
  • Rises and lowers using “scissor-backed” industry grade cross spring risers
  • Tab-tensioned design to ensure a taut and flat ripple-free projection surface
  • Includes Infrared (IR) and Radio Frequency (RF) handheld remote controls
  • Wireless 12V trigger included
  • Up/Stop/Down toggle switch for manual operation

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. The Goodman base is offered as an accessory. Does that mean it does not come with the viewfinder? Description is a little confusing.

A: The Hoodman I purchased from BH Photo included the full unit which included the base.

Q: 2. Please tell me the model which fits a Canon EOS 5Ds and Canon EOS 7D Mk II?

A: I have both a Canon 5D Mark IV and a Canon 7D Mark II. Their LCD screens are different sizes, with the 5D being larger. The Hoodman Loop being discussed fits the 5D screen well while being a little bigger than needed for the 7D screen, thereby giving some awkwardness to its use with that body. Mike R.

Q: 3. does Hoodman H32MB works with Nikon D90?

A: The Hoodman HoodLoupe Outdoor LCD Viewfinder for 3.2" Screens (BH #HOH32MB • MFR #H32MB) works with the Nikon D90 SLR Digital Camera.

Q: 4. Would this fit the Sony A6300?

A: Yes, it will fit.

Q: 5. Will this fit my Fujifilm X-T2?

A: This will not fit the Fuji x-t2; you will need the one that fits a 3" screen: https://bhpho.to/2Z59a1P

Q: 6. Does it fit a canon 6d markll?

A: yes.

Q: 7. can it be used underwater?

A: I wouldn't.

Q: 8. Will this hood loupe work for the Canon 1dx mark iii? Although the 1dx mark iii has a 3.15" screen, I'm wondering if there might be an issue with the right side edge of the hood loupe hitting the 1dx main dial, and therefore, the hood loupe would not properly fit/align over the LCD screen.)

A: It would work perfectly fine

Q: 9. Does this fit a Nikon D600? I tried the Elvid Optiview 3.2 viewfinder and it did not fit - it was too small height-wise and width-wise it interfered with the buttons.

A: I use it on my D7100. It fits over the screen well but overlaps the buttons a bit. My screen is 3.2 diag. Around 2.5 horz. The loop opening is 2.75 and 3.125 from edge to edge. I was thinking the smaller size would fit better even if it slightly covers the image. I use it just for focus so it doesnt bother me.

Q: 10. Does it fit Nikon Z7 ?

A: Yes, it does fit the Z7's screen.

[Yes] This screen is great. High quality at a super price. Lightweight. Takes a little bit to figure out the first couple of times, but then gets easy to put up. Much easier with 2 people. Folds up compact and storable.

My only criticism is the carry bag. Mine is ripped at the handle and I’m waiting to hear back from customer service to see if they will replace it so I don’t have to ship back the whole screen. Even so doesn’t seem very durable and the handle and strap attachment areas don’t seem like they will last. I’m trying to figure out how to reinforce them because the inside has fabric so I can’t repair the whole without cutting the inside fabric. I will probably carry like a box.

[Yes] If you are looking for a projector screen and are on a budget this screen works perfectly. You can spend a lot more for only marginal improvements. If manually lowering the screen isn't a deal breaker this screen is worth a look.

[Top/Bottom] Good price good quality, easy to install (We did wall mount). The pull down mechanism works smoothly, no issues getting it to retract smoothly, goes slow and steady. Good quality image from our Optima projector on the screen, very happy for the money

[16:9] I looked at a LOT of different projection screens before settling on this one. I've been very happy with it. The motor is fairly quiet and the image quality is great. My only regret is that I missed the text indicating the optimal distance for the projector. We have ours mounted about 12' away, which is technically too close for optimal image quality. This results in some visible ripples under certain very specific viewing conditions, but they are barely noticeable to most people and I've learned to ignore them. Still, if you want perfection, be certain you're using a projector that doesn't remotely qualify as short throw.

[Yes] A great product. Easy to assemble and take down....minutes for both. Very sturdy construction and material. We had our first outdoor movie and it was wonderfully fun.

[1.1] This screen fit perfectly over the window box in my screening room.
I didn't want a screen that used power to raise and lower.
No wires or cables to rout and less things to go wrong IMHO.
I'm using an Infocus In188HD projector and the image looks great on this screen.

[1.1] Due to the pandemic, we wanted our homebound college daughters to be able to have a few friends over while staying outdoors and socially distanced. We used this with a projector from B&H (thanks so much to Gerard from customer service who patiently walked me through what would suit us!). It was easy to set up, move, and put away. Picture quality looks great for both movies and gaming!
