A: Although not considered a silent grid cloth, like any material pulled tight enough, it will be silent. I’ve used this for years on various outdoor video shoots and I’ve never picked up any sound from it.

Q: 5. Characteristically, what is the difference between 1/2 stop cloth diffuser and regular diffuser?

A: Grid has a slightly different look than regular diffusion. Light spreads most in a pattern shaped like a plus sign (+). 1/2 stop is the strength.

Q: 6. Would these fasten over a Matthews 4x4' frame?

[0.015 lb] I use the ND gels to cut down the output of my Einstein when used with Pocket Wizard's HyperSync. The Einstein has to be used at full power to get a slow enough flash duration, so to adjust your output while shooting wide open this is a must have. 5
