Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What color is the flare for this lens?

A: The BLAZAR LENS Great Joy 35mm T2.9 1.8x Anamorphic Lens does not have a flare accent color. The coatings are all standard. Also, this lens model is made so it does not have a noticeable flare.

Q: 2. Would this work with a 50mm FF lens?

A: Yes, the BLAZAR LENS NERO 1.5x Anamorphic Adapter (Blue Flare) is compatible with the Canon FD 50mm f1.8.

Q: 3. will this fit a Sony a7siii?

A: The BLAZAR LENS Great Joy 50mm T2.9 1.8x Anamorphic Lens (PL + EF-Mounts, Amber Flare) would not mount on a Sony a7S III Mirrorless Camera. For the E mount version, you would need the BLAZAR LENS Great Joy 50mm T2.9 1.8x Anamorphic Lens (E-Mount, Amber Flare), BH #BL502918EA.

Q: 4. Is it possible to rotate the alignment?

A: Since the BLAZAR LENS NERO 1.5x Anamorphic Adapter (Blue Flare) is mounted to the front filter of a compatible lens, the adapter can be rotated so that the alinement is skewed which ever way you would like, but the lens support only mounts to one fixed position on the adapter, making it work best when mounted in the orientation shown in the product pictures.

Q: 5. Will this lens fit on the BMPCC6K PRO & will the rear lens element get in he way of the internal ND filters?

A: With the EF mount installed, the BLAZAR LENS Great Joy 50mm T2.9 1.8x Anamorphic Lens (PL + EF-Mounts, Amber Flare) will fit onto the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K pro.

Q: 6. What is the thread size on the taken lens side? I can't find it in the specs.

A: The Great Joy 1.35x Anamorphic Adapter has a 67mm (M67*0.75 Thread) lens mount.

Q: 7. Can I use a PL to L converter without issues? I’m asking because I need an L mount one, but it’s on back order.

A: It would be recommended to go with the L mount version of the BLAZAR LENS Great Joy 35mm T2.9 1.8x Anamorphic Lens (PL + EF Mount) due to the protrusion of the rear of the PL version of this lens which may not be compatible with certain PL to L mount adapters on L mount cameras.

Q: 8. I do wonder what will the lens perform like on blackmagic6k pro taking in consideration the sensor of the camera?

A: The BLAZAR LENS Great Joy 50mm T2.9 1.8x Anamorphic Lens (PL + EF-Mounts, Amber Flare) would be able to mount to the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro (Canon EF). However, it would be better to use an anamorphic designed for Super 35-sized sensors for the best optics and performance.

Q: 9. Will I have autofocus if instead of Sony E mount I'll go for PL+E mount adapter?

A: The BLAZAR LENS Great Joy 85mm T2.9 1.8x Anamorphic Lens has no autofocus at all, regardless of the mount or system.

Q: 10. Does this include a PL back cap?

A: Yes, the BLAZAR LENS Remus 1.5x Anamorphic Lens Mount Adapter (ARRI PL) does included a PL lens back Cap with the adapter.

[11] Excellent budget anamorphic lens. It works exceptionally well with my Sony A7sIII full frame camera. The Viltrox DC-X3 on camera monitor just complements the whole setup. It has exec 1.6 de-squeeze factor to help you compose every shot.

[T22] Blazar nailed this and no its not a perfect lens... but for under a grand ITS INSANE that a TINY and LIght-weight anamorphic getting you that old panavision c-d series aesthetic but you can actually own these. Are they 2x no obviously not - My Gemini is 30x18mm (rounded) and on 4 perf S35 ie larger S35 chips like my Red Gemini this Lens is a DREAM... Its definitely soft wide open as most vintage anamorphics are and has some CA and flaws but they are very organic... and although the squeeze isnt 2x the Bokeh are CLEARLY oval and the blue streaks (got the blue streak PL ) are great... I always think you need to see how SMALL they are to believe it I dont need a support on My Gemini or when using the FF on my Eos r5. I cant wait for rest have 100 and Hoping the 85 comes soon and then the 33mm FF But this one is a must if you can only buy one.

[T2.9] Few people understand what does it mean anmorphic , with this full frame anmorphic you can enjoy with really depth of field as 50mm and wide view as wide angle after De-Squeeze

This is a sharp lens , with videos gears like a high class but there is a disadvantage in the not correct horizon level in the corners , but i can accept that in this lens price , it is like a gift from suriu .

With 8k you can crop and get the good video , so its highly recommend if you have 8k or 6k

[82 mm x 0.75] After reading the review in NewsShooter I thought I'd give these a go. They are my first anamorphic lenses (usually so expensive).

Even though I'm using this on my URSA Mini (super 35) with PL mount, the image captured is lovely - probably the sweet spot of the lens. It's full of character, but not too much. Sharp enough, but not clinical. The mechanics feel good and smooth build quality is solid.

They are quite a nice wide anamorphic 1.8x squeeze. For some recordings of the landscape in our valley, I wanted to capture a full panoramic. So recording to the full sensor (16:9) and then de-squeezing without cropping I ended up with a 3.3:1 panoramic. Obviously I won't be delivering a commercial project in that aspect ratio, but for my home recordings it's lovely to see such a vista captured in one shot.

I can highly recommend.

[11] This lens is awesome, and produces clean images with real cinematic effects. I have the entire set (35mm, 50mm, 75mm, 100mm, 135mm, 150mm plus the 1.25 adapter that produces a 2x squeeze when paired with the 1.6x anamorphic squeeze of the lenses). The lenses produce uniform colors all throughout the set, and images are sharp wide open at T2.9. Somehow SIRUI has managed to make these primes sharp wide open, but not too sharp, given you that movie like look without any diffusion filters on the front of your lens. If you haven't tried the anamorphic look, you have no idea what your projects are missing. As result of purchasing this set, my G Masters and spherical Cine primes are collecting dust. The SIRUI 1.6x T 2.9 Venus Anamorphic lenses are a great set of glass.

[T22] Excellent value! Just make sure to buy a 82mm close-up vivitar lens set as well as it will make this lens a lot more useful and also mitigate some of its weaker points. Weight is great as well. Overall this is a very good mix of Anamorphic bliss for full frame sensors and image quality especially when you want flares a little more controlled. I'm using it with the Red V-Raptor VV.

[T2.9] First off. These have to be one of the best budget anamorphics you can get your hands on as of early 2024.

My only small grip is the inconsistent squeeze factor on the 50mm. If you know that it's easy to compensate in post but I would feel a little weary handing off footage from the 50mm lens.

As for the 35mm, I really love how large the FOV is. On the flip side you have to get a subject very close to really feel the anamorphic stuff but outside of that is a very useful focal length

As an owner op these are WELL worth your money

[1.8x] .I would characterize myself as an amateur filmmaker, or at least a serious hobbyist, who has had no experience with cinematic lenses. This lens was an absolute blast to experiment with. It's a solidly built metal body, with smooth-turning geared focus and aperture rings. It is manual focus, but with the use of focus peaking, very sharp images can be achieved. Not coming from a cinema background, T-stops are a bit mysterious to me, but the wide T2.9 aperture (which I've read is roughly equivalent to f2.1) allows lower ISOs in low light conditions. A nice bonus is the inclusion of a lens pouch. For an example from my first shoot with this lens, visit https://youtu.be/462z64lIzUc. I look forward to playing much more with this fun lens.

[82 mm x 0.75] image rendered so great. with Bmcc6k full frame camera has a bit vignette, but if scale up the clip like 1.1x in davinci resolve can get rid of vignette.and I can live with that. With sigma MC-21 adapter is enoght tight to not worry abot it.
