A: The does not have a zoom lens. The camera has a fixed focal length; all zooming would be done digitally using your smartphone/tablet. It does allow you to zoom, pan, and cut in real-time from the "Mevo - The Live Event Camera" app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. [392] These cameras are just what your livestream production ordered. Straight to the point once you unpackaged them and download the Multicam app. Don't get discouraged as the app doesn't offer landscape view yet (mevo needs to get on this ASAP). Other than that great equipment for its intended purpose.

[July 1, 2013] With the restrictions in place around in-person gatherings due to COVID-19, our church was looking for a solution to live stream our services to our members. This is the perfect solution. It was relatively easy to set up (any problems were on our end with needing to extend a Wi-Fi network) and produces good quality for our purposes.

The zoom on the camera is not great, so be prepared to have the Mevo fairly close to what you are trying to record. Ours is positioned in the 4th row of pews from the front (about 20 feet from the pulpit). The camera captures a very wide shot though, so even at that distance, I can get all important parts of the service.

The audio in jack on the back let us connect our in-house audio to the Mevo for improved sound - a big plus!

NOTE: YouTube treats the Mevo as a mobile device for the purposes of streaming, so you CAN NOT stream directly to YouTube unless you have 1,000+ subscribers. This is easily circumvented by using the RTMP option and inputting the streaming key and streaming URL that YouTube provides. Not a bad solution, but not as simple as just putting in your YouTube credentials

[392] I got the camera to share Hockey games of my kids with my parents who are 2000 miles away.

I took me about ten minutes to setup the first time, then I attached my YouTube account and it's that simple. I attached it to a suction cup mount on the glass and use the zoom feature when they head down the ice. I have never had the battery run out during a game and the memory card recording is even better quality than the live stream so I can edit a highlight of a great goal.

I have also set this up for a soccer game and panned the camera, it's a wide shot really shows the family everything

I would definitely suggest this to others with a basic-adv technical knowledge.
