[Black] feels really good quality, all aluminium, the signal has a lot of range, the motor is powerfull, easy to setup, and battery last a lot, have it since december 2015 (20/7/2016 now) and i havent use it professionally but with ef cheap lenses, it worked great. the motors shakes the camera a little which can be feel from the handlebars of the ronin. the motor leaks a bit of oil from the gear but it's normal from what dji said to me. i really wish it lasts a long time, some reviewers said the motor burnt when using it with cine lenses, i hope it doesnt happen to mine, but dji sells the motors only for 500 dolars which is not that expensive (less than an iphone) so i wont cry that much. i like to know that if i bought or work with the X5 camera or drones it will work too, i think the controller could last a lot of time from how it feels, the battery is infinit when using it. i did had a problem once, which was my mistake because i updated the firmware on the controller and not on the motor&reciver and then the hole unit freaks out, the controller screen was blinking weird things and i couldn't calibrate the motor, and when i switched to automatic calibration the motor didn't wanted to stop on the hardstop of the lens so it tried to ripp it off, it was scary, then i updated the firmware of the motor and now it works great, i will never try automatic calibration haha i don't want to destroy the motor so i do manual calibration. i don't know if the DJI focus is watertight or splash proof, but i will keep it away from rain for now

I love that you can snap these on 15mm rods so easy and quickly, without moving anything else on my rig (URSA Mini Pro G2) Of course, this thing is just super smooth too! Nice and Sturdy with no play on the lens at all!

The hard stops are really nice (especially for my photo lenses that I use) and the precision!

[2.485 lb] Yes there are follow focuses that are much cheaper, but this Shape FF doesn't even deserve to be compared to those cheap ones. I'm comparing this to the two best FFs I've ever used: the industry standard ARRI-FF5 and the Chrosziel 203. They are in the $2k - $3k range, but the shape is almost just as good but at less than half of the price! The distinctive feature that makes these three great is the swing away gear arm. It makes lens changes so much easier and faster. This Shape FF has a great smooth motion to it. You can quickly flip the wheel stopper up or down easily. And it's great it gives you two focus stopper marks that are quick and easy to use. Everyone already knows that Shape makes the best handles, but now people should know that they also make a really great follow focus. Would highly recommend!

[Black] The Axler Hammerhead Follow Focus is a solid, well made, reasonably priced focus assisting tool. I purchased three of them and so far they have worked well for me with my Panasonic GH5 cameras and Rokinon cine lenses. They feel much more professionally made as compared to some of the more expensive follow focus wheels whose company names I will not mention just to be fair.

[2.485 lb] After searching for a cheap alternative, I took the cost and got the CFF-1. It is in my mind the best focus unit available. Every option you would need it has. The build is none other than O'Connor spec, backlash is to a small 1-2mm at most, super smooth and the hand wheels feels great. Perfect size with the 38 tooth gear to have a long throw on cine lenses. A helpful tip, mine shipped with some play in one of the hand wheels, there are 2 small screws on the belt cap of the hand wheel, loosen those and the gear slides up and down from the belt inside, push down and tighten to engage the gear in the handwheel on the belt and the gap is gone from in the handwheel. I bought the 1450 case, the foam inserts is an amazing idea from O'Connor, slides right in and is not a custom cut out case for the unit. All in all, a solid unit worth every penny. I just hope O'Connor doesn't decide to replace this anytime soon.
