Isolate your subject against the background and capture longer-range coverage using the black Canon RF-mount IRIX 150mm T3.0 Cine Lens Canon RF Blackfrom IRIX. Covering up to full-frame size sensors, this longer prime incorporates a redesigned focusing mechanism that enables more precise pulls in the 6.6' to infinity range. External features include a 95mm front diameter, 0.8 MOD gears, luminous focus marks in feet, and a detachable 1/4"-20 support foot. Internally, 11 rounded iris blades produce smooth bokeh, and multiple seals protect against inclement weather and dust.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this lens suitable for still photography as well as for video?

A: While the IRIX 150mm T3.0 Macro 1:1 Lens is designed for Cinema use it would also be perfect for still photography. Keep in mind it is a manual lens with no autofocus or stabilization.

Q: 2. So, has this been updated to work on Arri and Sony PL mounts? Reviews here say it won't work on either.

A: There is no difference between the PL mount on an ARRI or SONY camera, so if this is not mounting properly or not at all, there may be a manufacturing issue, but this is not something we have seen before these occurrences referenced here.

Q: 3. How much lens breathing occurs with this lens?

A: The lens breathing on this product should be almost imperceptible, as it has been designed with the specific "cine" lens characteristics that keep lens breathing to a minimum, if not entirely absent.

Q: 4. will it work on d7200

A: Yes.

Q: 5. Is this lens F stop communication working fine with BlackMagic 6k Pro? I've heard of people having problems with the f stop reading

A: Technically the F/stop in the IRIX 150mm f/2.8 Macro 1:1 Lens for Canon EF should be controlled through the BlackMagic 6k. But that specific lens has not been tested and the manufacture does not list it.

Q: 6. Will this PL mount lens work with Panasonic L-mount?

A: No it will not.

Q: 7. I'm assuming this is a strictly manual focusing lens - correct?

A: That is correct. This is a Manual Lens only.

Q: 8. Can it be use with the Canon EF 2x extenders to expand the focal range on a Canon C100 Mark ll camera?

A: Unfortunately this lens is not compatible with Canon extenders.

Q: 9. Is it suitable for 6K Resolution Sensors?

A: The image circle covers full frame sensors, so as long as your cameras sensor supports 6K, this lens will also support 6K. Lenses do not have anything to do with resolution support.

Q: 10. Can one interchange lens mounts on these lenses?

A: At this time, Irix is not made user swapable mounts available.

[43.3 mm] I couldn't imagine a lens being this good for macro photography. I'm really happy with it. See the results with the photos I uploaded. It's really fun to use. It's built very well and includes a nice arca type tripod collar and foot.

[T3] Remarkable value in a macro, I used to have a Tokina 100mm but didn't use it much, I really enjoy the added working distance on the 150. I was shopping for a 180 or 200 but the price difference wasn't worth it for a specialty lens. This one is perfect, especially with the Nikon ZF peak focusing aid.

[43.3 mm] Excellent for detail shots. It works as a telephoto lens but focus pull is way to fine beyond a couple of feet away from subject to really rack focus, so I would not recommend using this as a telephoto unless you can fix focus. No complaints as a macro lens though.

[T3] What this LENS CAN DO IN Macro is MINDBLOWING!

[Full Frame] The IRIX 150mm is an excellent choice for those looking to capture highly detailed, true-to-life close-ups. Its magnification ratio means you can get incredibly close to your subjects, rendering them in life-size on the screen, which is perfect for both professional and creative projects. The T3.0 aperture ensures that you have flexibility with light, working well in both bright outdoor settings and more controlled indoor environments.

This lens is built to last, with a robust, weather-sealed construction that can handle a variety of shooting conditions without breaking a sweat. The focus and aperture adjustments are smooth and precise, which is crucial for making those critical, on-the-fly changes during a shoot.

Image quality is where this lens truly shines, delivering sharp, clear visuals with beautiful background blur that helps your subject stand out. It's equipped with features like geared rings that are compatible with follow-focus systems, making it an excellent fit for professional video production.

While it's a bit heavier and requires manual focus, the quality and versatility it offers make it a worthy addition to your kit. Overall, the IRIX is a solid investment for filmmakers and videographers seeking exceptional detail and build quality in their work.

[86 mm] The image shows a close up of a Lego set using the IRIX 150mm lens. In that picture you can see the small rigs in the gray plastic that is not visible by just looking at it.

[1:1] I got this lens for high end table top shoots and am very pleased with the quality and the build of the lens. Something I wold normally expect from significantly more expensive cine-macro lenses. It’s a bargen at that price point. The PL mount is a snug fit on my RED DRAGON and the rounded lens cap is a bit of a fail design since you can’t put the lens on its front the way you normally park lens that you don’t want to roll of your desk. But that’s the only downside of it and it didn’t affect the image waltet in any way.

[150mm] I've been shooting with this lens on my RED Helium, but I also use it for stills with my A7III. The focus throw is smooth and long, and there is little breathing between short distances or between long distances (although, as expected, if you pull from a couple inches away to infinity, there is a transition where it breathes heavily). It feels well made and the images are very sharp.

[1:1] I shoot surgical/medical and thus needed that reach (compared to the Rokinon 100mm macro I was using before) in order to remain non-invasive to a health care professional's space. I also wanted a cine version of a macro so this was perfect and really there is no other option other than another 100mm macro cine lens.
The images coming from my Fuji X-T3 with this lens are fantastic (rigged as shown using an EF to X-mount adapter). Feels like a solid lens. Not a fan of the magnetic hood but I use a matte box so no biggie. Lens cap and mount cover do suck, they feel like they could break from a drop. Focus ring is smooth but the iris ring is much looser in comparison, I wish they had the same tension.
