A: The previous version of the Tilta V-Mount Advanced Power Distribution Module for RED Komodo Type II did not support extended battery data. This has been fixed with this model and it is still going though the approval process with RED.

Q: 2. What power cable does this one use? Or do I have to order that separately? Looking for 4-pin XLR for C300 III

A: You would have to order it separately. You can use a d-tap to 4-pin XLR.

Q: 3. Can the battery be hot-swapped? Can someone please describe the procedure and other items for this task? Thank you.

A: No. Batteries can not be hot swapped on the following unit.

Q: 4. Is the 9 pin connector fixed or able to rotate when connect to the camera?

A: Yes. The following unit is fixed and cannot be rotated.

Q: 5. Could this work with the smallhd 7 "monitor (MON-702-TOUCH)?

A: No, it's meant to fit on the Red Komodo.

Q: 6. Till this device be RED approved and therefore send battery voltage information to the camera?

A: Yes, When using Gold Mount batteries, this module will fully communicate with your camera body, allowing you to see your remaining battery life as a percentage on the RED Komodo’s user interface.

A: The Tilta Advanced Power Distribution Module for RED KOMODO (Black, V-Mount Type II) will take any SDI BNC time code cable. Which cable is dependent on the particular time code generator.

A: Typically there is no delay when working with the Tilta Nucleus solutions.

[Battery] My tilta battery plate eventually stopped working (which is a pretty terrible thing to have happen when shooting). This still works from when I got it when it first came out. Word of warning--the lemo port on this will not work with a Tilta Lemo cable. The tilta cable got stuck, and would not come out. I ended up buying a second one of these because of that, and used a different lemo, so it all worked out in the end. Anyhow, I liked this better than my titla plate. 5

[0.37 lb] I have a lot of gold mounts from another camera and used them to attach to this adapter and it worked perfectly on my Komodo. I also like that you can easily tap out from it. 5

[6.5 x 4 x 2"] Snaps right in and gives me power to my FX6 from a Core 98 for over 5 hours. I do mostly interviews, so I feel comfortable using it without screwing it in to a top plate. This gives me the option to quickly switch to bp batts for when the camera needs to be small. I would probably screw it in for run and gun stuff 5

[1x Gold Mount] I tried the wooden camera one, this, and considered (but did not buy) the mutiny. I'm glad I bought this one. It passes the battery state to the camera so it can warn you of low battery and shut itself off properly. It has all the regular port expansions and all for less than the other options. The only thing I wish it had was a passthrough 9pin port like the mutiny has. That way I could use it with my custom TC/genlock cables for komodo. The tradeoff though, was worth it. There was some scandal with this being Red Approved before being yanked off the list. As I understand it, this happened because the ctrl port wasn't working on a bunch of early models. The problem has apparently been fixed on new ones but Red has been slow to re add it after their first embarrassment. Regardless, what I mainly needed was TC, genlock, and battery status and it has performed these three functions without fail or issue. 5
